Second multiplex. Rtrs reminds: the launch date of the second multiplex has been postponed

So, if you are interested in the topic of digital terrestrial television, then most likely you want to know what channels you will receive if you connect it to yourself. I'm right? Then read on) maybe you don’t need it?

What are digital TV multiplexes

Today in Russia DVB T2 format broadcast 20 channels. They are divided into two packages, these are the so-called multiplexes. Both packages are free to watch, there is no subscription fee. It is enough just to have a TV that receives a DVB T2 signal and.

That's what the "figure" broadcasts in Russia

First ten channels (First multiplex)

The first package, or the first multiplex, is general information, news and development channels (boring things). Here is a list of digital television channels of the first multiplex:

  • First channel
  • Russia 1
  • Russia 2 Match TV - a channel with sports broadcasts
  • Channel Five
  • Russia "Culture"
  • Russia 24
  • Carousel - children's channel, cartoons, programs for children
  • OTR - Public Television of Russia

The first multiplex operates wherever there is digital television.

I knowingly wrote the time of publication of the article. The fact is that sometimes the composition of the channels changes on the basis of a competition that is held by the state every year. So things may change in 2016.

Just recently, a replacement took place in the second multiplex and "Sport +" was replaced with the entertainment channel "Friday" ... Also, the channel "Russia - 2" in the first multiplex was replaced by Match TV.

Third package of channels (Third multiplex)

And yet, they promise a third multiplex, but it will already be with subscription fee. So I don't think it will be wildly popular. Since, as soon as the on-air "figure" becomes paid, it will be easier to stretch a cable with 40+ channels for 120 rubles. per month.

And here is what they write on the project about this:

It is too early to talk about the exact date of the start of broadcasting of the third (regional) multiplex. To begin with, principles for the formation of a regional multiplex at the government level should be determined, after which competitions will be organized to determine the channels participating in the third multiplex. Only after the composition of the third digital package, RTRS will be able to start broadcasting it. It should be noted that this fall, the Government Commission for the Development of Television and Radio Broadcasting postponed consideration of the issue of the principles for the formation of the third multiplex until 2018.

The specialists of our company will quickly and efficiently connect and configure free tv channels analogue and digital terrestrial television broadcast by the Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Network from the Ostankino TV tower.

Broadcast television. How to watch TV channels for free

On the territory of Moscow and the region with "Ostankino" Russian television and radio network RTRS. rf transmits 19 analog and 3 packets (30 units) digital free terrestrial tv channels. This makes it possible to receive Russian television programs without registration and payment of a subscription fee. Reception is carried out on individual, located in the room, or outdoor television antennas. The receiving antenna can be a simple wire, the length of which reaches 1-2 meters. Broadcasting is carried out using meter and UHF waves. The TV channels that are being broadcast can be watched for free.

A list of suggested frequencies for free terrestrial TV channels will help you set up your TVs. If the broadcast frequency of one or another terrestrial television channel is indicated, this will speed up the tuning of TVs that do not have the function of automatic sorting of TV channels. With this information, it is easier to tune TV channels on older TV models with wrong work systems of automatic adjustment of the local oscillator frequency APCG. The table has analog frequencies that are needed for free viewing TV channels on TV. Our site site allows you to download a list of free TV channels on-air TV in Moscow.

Digital terrestrial television

Free digital channels coming from the television tower, receives a special antenna for digital TV. To view such channels, you need to have:

  • access to a common external antenna (installed on the roof of houses);
  • access to an individual (external or small internal antenna decimeter range);
  • in the presence of a TV, as well as a standard digital tuner DVB-T2;
  • providing MPEG 4 video signal compression standard and Multiple PLP mode. This may be a special device connected to the TV.

Initially, digital broadcasts were conducted by rtrs.rf using the DVB-T system. Some regions still use its services. Everything goes to that this system will replace the new digital on-air television DVB-T2. It was she who was accepted as the standard. TVs with set-top boxes that have a DVB-T tuner will not allow you to watch TV programs in new system broadcast television.

How to watch DVB-T2 digital TV for free?

The main task is that we need a common decimeter antenna aimed at Moscow, and not a house antenna. As such, it can be ordinary antenna cable. If the signal is not caught on the cable, you can buy a UHF antenna - there are many different ones and the price is from 300 to 1000 rubles.

If your TV does not support DVB-T2, you can buy an external tuner. It connects to any TV and costs around 1000 rubles.

In order to watch both analog and digital channels, you will need a signal mixer - it is on the video.

When will 20 channels be launched in your locality?

At the end of December 2018, RTRS solemnly announced the launch of the second multiplex at all transmission towers in Russia. This means that 20 digital channels are available for viewing on 99% of the territory of the Russian Federation. Also planned for 2019. The first shutdown phase is scheduled for February, six regions will be shut down in the middle of the month. TV broadcasting in them will remain only in the digital format DVB-T2.

If you have only 10 channels

If your TV or set-top box shows only 10 channels, you should first start auto-search for channels or search manually. You can find the frequencies of the transmitting towers and their location on the map of digital television.

If the channel search did not give the desired result, then most likely you have problems with the antenna, cable or contacts. In a number of regions, the frequencies of the first and second multiplex differ significantly. For example, in Samara, the first ten channels are broadcast at a frequency of 522 MHz, and the second at 762 MHz. Despite the fact that the transmitters are of the same power, a higher frequency requires reliable contacts, is sensitive to the quality of the cable. Higher frequency waves do not so well bend around obstacles in the signal path and if the tower is not in line of sight, then it is likely that the antenna will need to be raised or relocated.

We also draw your attention to the fact that some antennas have an uneven gain within the received range and most often the gain drops with increasing frequency. If the broadcast in your area is on high frequencies, you recommend using a wave channel antenna. You can read more about the types of antennas in the article.

The installation of a TV antenna accessible to all viewers allows you to receive digital television in Moscow, on-air broadcasting is carried out in the dvb-t2 standard. The analog broadcasting system is becoming a thing of the past and will be permanently disabled in the near future. The reason for this is the improvement of technologies for the use of radio frequencies. If earlier there were no more than 18 programs from the Ostankino tower, then in 2016 there are already 30. The channels operate digitally and are grouped 10 at a single frequency, such a package is called "Multiplex".

  1. The first multiplex Ostankino TVK 30, frequency 546 MHz
  2. The second multiplex Ostankino TVK 24, frequency 498 MHz
  3. Test third multiplex Ostankino TVK 34, frequency 578 MHz

For local repeaters, broadcast settings may vary. The Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation provides for the widespread launch of twenty federal, free channels. You will find towers under construction and operating in the Moscow region in the right block of the current page.

Free TV shows all federal channels, 20 programs have been officially launched and 10 are in test mode.

Reception of digital television in Moscow is possible on any TVs, with the difference that older models will need a dvb-t2 receiver. This is a small console with a separate remote control through which control is carried out. The signal from the antenna is fed to the receiver, and you can connect it to the TV with a tulip or scart cord. How to set up the receiver is described in the user manual. New types of flat TVs already have a tuner built in, look for dvb-t2 in the specifications and try to find digital channels. If it does not work, check the cable connection and find out if you have a normal cable TV.

The main part of the equipment set is the antenna, the quality of on-air television reception depends on its power. For Moscow, usually, an antenna with an average gain is enough. In some cases, a more powerful option is required. This happens when a country cottage, private house or cottage is located in a lowland and is surrounded by tall trees. The distance to the tower also plays an important role. Installation is desirable in the highest possible part of the house, installation is carried out on a small bracket or steel mast. The price of the work will vary depending on the complexity, the exact cost is calculated by the master according to the standard price list, taking into account current discounts and promotions. The connection is made to the existing cable wiring using an amplifier and dividers. The master can arrive the next day after receiving the order.

Why is analog TV being turned off?

According to Alexei Volin, Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Telecommunications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, today in Russia less than 10% of citizens live without digital television, and in a number of regions - only 2-3%.

The transition from analogue broadcasting to digital terrestrial TV in Russia was conceived in order to increase the choice of channels and their quality by several times. TV viewers will be able to receive up to 20 TV channels per good quality for free.

Unlike users of cable and satellite networks, viewers of digital terrestrial television will not pay a subscription fee.

Advantages of digital TV

Among the main advantages of digital TV: high image resolution; sound and picture without distortion; wide selection of channels.

Unlike analog broadcasting, which is continuous but may be accompanied by large quantity interference (ripples, noise and poor picture quality), the digital signal filters out interference, does not carry unnecessary information, so the picture is clear and of high quality. In the presence of serious interference, the digital signal, unlike the analog one, will simply disappear.

Transition timeline

The transition from analogue to digital television will affect all regions of the country, including Moscow and the Moscow region. Initially, the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation reported that the process of switching off analog broadcasting would be completed by January 14-15, 2019, but then they decided to increase the transition period. According to Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, the transition from analogue to digital television will be phased. In total, the transition process will take six months.

This decision is due to the fact that some residents still use televisions that do not receive a digital signal. In order not to leave people without TV broadcasting and to give time to purchase the necessary equipment, it was decided to make the transition to digital gradual.

As explained on the website of the Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Network (RTRS), we are talking about the reduction of analogue broadcasting starting from January 1, 2019. The state ceases to subsidize television channels for signal distribution in cities with a population of less than 100,000 people. This applies to mandatory public channels.

As part of the implementation of the target program "Development of TV and radio broadcasting in Russian Federation for 2009-2018” reception of obligatory public TV channels without a subscription fee will become possible in all settlements of Russia.

Free channels

The RTRS press service emphasizes that with the launch of the digital broadcasting network, Russians will receive a free set of high-quality TV channels, comparable to what was previously offered only in paid packages.

TV viewers will have access to two digital multiplexes - a package of free digital channels.

Thus, residents of the Moscow region can already watch digital terrestrial television for free. In all settlements of the region, 10 programs of the RTRS-1 digital TV package (the first multiplex) are available in excellent quality: Channel One, Russia 1, Match TV, NTV, Petersburg-5 Channel, Rossiya K, Rossiya 24, Karusel, Public Television of Russia, TV Center, as well as three radio channels: Vesti FM, Mayak and Radio Rossii.

By the end of 2018, residents of the Moscow region will also be able to receive the RTRS-2 multiplex: STS, TNT, RenTV, Friday, Spas, Domashny, Zvezda, TV3, Mir, MuzTV.

TV network construction

To date, the construction of the network of the first and second multiplex (package of digital channels) has been completed in almost all regions of Russia. More than 9.5 thousand transmitters out of 10 thousand have already been installed and are operating. The entire network will be put into operation at the end of 2018.

In the Moscow region, the construction and operation of the digital terrestrial television network is carried out by the RTRS branch - the Moscow Regional Center (MRTS).

The digital signal is transmitted through digital radio and television transmitting stations (RTPS). The first such station began operating in Shatura near Moscow back in 2013. Currently, the stations cover the entire territory of the region.

Optional equipment

To watch terrestrial digital TV, it is not necessary to send your favorite TV to a landfill. It is enough to buy special equipment.

Majority modern TVs support the DVB-T2 broadcasting standard, in which free multiplexes are broadcast. To watch free digital channels, their owners need to buy only a decimeter range antenna: collective or individual, outdoor or indoor, depending on the living conditions.
