Mozilla start page. How to change the start page in Mozilla Firefox

So, in this article, we will consider how to make your favorite site, search engine or service a start page in Mozilla browser Firefox. As an example, I will take, as always, home page search engine Yandex.

After you set it up, you can. After that, all hyperlinks in mail or documents will immediately open in your favorite web browser.

We make a start page in a couple of clicks

We open our favorite site in a new tab, in my case it is Yandex. Drag this tab with the mouse to the "House" icon. We look at the screenshot:

This is how you can quickly make a home page in Mozilla. However, the home one is the one that opens when you click on the “House”, and the start one is the one that opens when the browser starts. Therefore, if you need the latter, read on.

Making a start page using Mozilla Firefox browser settings

Click on the menu button in the upper right corner and select "Settings" from the drop-down list.

Immediately in the "Basic" tab, we indicate that "When firefox launch” the home page was shown, and in the field below you indicate the site you need. In my case, this is Yandex, which is still there after using the first method.

The start page is what you see when you open your web browser. Some users prefer to set the address of the search engine as the start page, while others prefer a personal profile on the social network.

Settings

Naturally, in the settings of the browser itself there is already a parameter that allows you to change start page in mozilla, and you don't need to use a third-party software. The procedure is performed in just a few clicks, namely:

  1. Launch browser.
  2. Open the browser menu by clicking on the button with the image of three parallel lines on the toolbar.
  3. Select "Settings".
  4. Go to the "General" section.

On this page, we are interested in two options. The first of them is the line “When FireFox starts”, where you need to select the parameter responsible for opening the Firefox start page, and not the last opened tabs. The second parameter is "Home Page" where you should enter a link to the desired website. Use the "Use current page" and "Use bookmark" buttons if the desired site is currently open in a tab or added to the favorites list, respectively. How this whole procedure is performed, I displayed in the following image:

Advice! If you want the standard Firefox start page to be displayed, then simply remove the link from the "Home Page" item or click on the "Restore Default" button.

drag and drop

There is another way that allows you to set the site you need as the initial one, so that it is displayed when the browser starts. This is done by dragging the active tab onto the Home button, which is located on the Firefox toolbar. After you release the left mouse button, the browser will ask if you really want to change the start page in the mozilla - you only need to confirm this action by pressing the corresponding button:

Now, when you open the browser and click the "Home" button on the toolbar, the desired site will open.

Important! Some software makes changes to the browser shortcut on the desktop.

If you were looking for how to customize the start page in Mozilla precisely because some application changed this setting, it would not be out of place to check the FireFox shortcut on the desktop:

  1. Click on it right click mice.
  2. Select "Properties".
  3. In the "Object" line, check for the added address to a third-party website that you want to delete.

Here are ways to change starting address in the browser. Each of them is equally effective, and can replace the others.
