Installing MediaGet

The installation process of MediaGet does not present any difficulty even for an inexperienced user: by downloading from the Internet and running the installer, after that Mediaget will be installed in the same way as any other program. And you also need to remember about the danger posed by viruses and spies that are widespread on the Internet.

Therefore, you should carefully pay attention to the source of downloading the application - installation from the official site will guarantee the security of your computer. And removing a malicious variant is a difficult and troublesome task.

After the download is complete, you will be able to install the program. To do this, you need to run the installer and, following the instructions, complete the process. Then you need to restart your computer.

If the installer asks for permission to automatically reboot the system, then this will simplify your care - there will be no need to finish the process yourself.

There is nothing complicated in using Mediaget. There is a nuance - users want to increase the speed of this program. Here you can only advise: connect a faster Internet tariff. Any other methods to increase the download speed are just inventions of hackers.

Hello friends Recently, a lot of programs have developed on the Internet, some of them are incomprehensible to me and many users, while others, in turn, can also be dangerous ... Today we have the MediaGet program as a guest, I will try to tell you what kind of program it is and whether she to you.

So MediaGet is a kind of torrent client that allows you to download files on the Internet, from where I did not understand ( but then I figured it out!), because all this is already searched for in the program. Let's first look at this program, and then I will write some of my conclusions about it.

You can download MediaGet for free without viruses on the official website, for this, in Yandex or Google, just write mediaget download and the first link should be the official website. Well, so that you have no doubts, here is a picture from the Yandex search engine, I hope everything is clear:

By the way, but before everything was not so smooth. This is me about the fact that Yandex used to consider the MediaGet website to be viral, and here is confirmation of this:

In general, this is an occasion to think ...

Then there will be a big DOWNLOAD button on the site, press it and the program will start downloading. But it often happens that this program gets on the computer in some incomprehensible way! But I don’t know how it all happens, I just read reviews on the Internet that for many it came from nowhere. These are the miracles

Then I started installing the program:

There was nothing like this during installation, MediaGet, like many programs, tried to infiltrate the system as much as possible:

This implementation can be reduced, just uncheck unnecessary

On this I thought that everything, but it turned out that no! Also, when installing MediaGet, it was suggested to download Yandex Browser and some elements of it! Yandex Browser is good, it seems to me, but like this, stick it when installing almost every program, well, it's somehow not very good:

So if anything - uncheck these if you don’t need Yandex Browser or if you already have it. But damn, I thought that that’s all for sure, but here’s a bummer - we are also offered to install Antivirus 360, well, just offer after offer! In general, if anything, you can also uncheck the box here:

Everything, then finally the program was installed and did not offer anything else!

Here is what MediaGet looks like:

Now let's try to find something here, well, for example, I introduced the OpenOffice office suite (by the way, it's completely free, unlike Microsoft, so I recommend it) and here are the results I got:

As you can see, there are results and there are a lot of them! Now let's try to download something, it's easy to do - click on this button:

It is better to download something where there are a lot of stars in the Speed column, otherwise it may be that there will be no speed if there are few distributors

After I pressed the button, the following window for adding a torrent popped up:

That is, here you can change where it will swing, you can download later or immediately. If you click the Details button, there will be a list of files, and for example, if you don’t need some, you can uncheck them. Well, that is, nothing special, although everything is done conveniently

In general, I clicked Download now, the Downloads tab opened, where all downloads go. That's where I saw all that is needed, this is the download itself, the speed, and the download status. Again, everything is done conveniently! There is even a Folder button that you can click to immediately open the folder where the file is being downloaded! Here is that tab:

I did not notice any special jambs in the program, there are ads, but it is not too big and not stupid.

On the Media Player tab, you can watch some video without downloading it:

I tried to play some kind of joke, well, a video with a joke, I wrote a share of this like funny cats and then I clicked on this button to start the video:

Unfortunately, I waited and waited, but I didn’t wait for the joke about the cat, so this message popped up for me:

This is probably because there were no distributors on the download. In general, I didn’t manage to watch another video, although the download went and stopped at 6% ... My Internet seems to be not the slowest, in general I don’t know what kind of cant it is, but most likely it’s just me ..

So all functions seem to work in MediaGet.

So what else can I say about MediaGet? I rebooted the computer, I noticed a tray icon, though I didn’t immediately understand that this was the MediaGet icon:

When I clicked on the icon, the main MediaGet window appeared. In the task manager, the program sits under the mediaget.exe process:

The process seems to be the same. MediaGet is installed in this folder:

C:\Users\VirtMachine\AppData\Local\MediaGet2

I also noticed that there is an entry on the Startup tab (the System Configuration window, which is called by the Win + R buttons):

In principle, the checkbox can be unchecked, but it is better to disable autorun in the program itself.

We have carried out such a small analysis, now I will talk a little about the MediaGet settings. To get into them, you should click this button in the main program window (you can also click right click on the tray icon and there will also be an item about the settings):

And then select this item:

So, what do we have there in the settings. On the General tab, you can disable MediaGet autorun, you can also disable auto-update of the program:

True, they could make the font even darker, the settings are not very clearly visible! On the Search tab, you can enable or disable torrent trackers that will search for files (I don’t recommend changing anything here).

On the Downloads tab, you can turn off some notifications, change the folder where files will be downloaded by default:

And do not forget that in order for the settings to be applied, you need to click the OK button!

On the Connections tab, you can configure a proxy, for example, if your Internet does not go straight, but through a proxy. But this setting is rarely changed, so skip it. There is also nothing interesting on the Advanced tab, it seems to me, except that you can check the Use LSD checkbox, this is to search for peers in local network(as I understand). The speed within the local network of your provider is usually much higher than on the Internet.

Profile tab. There are some dubious settings, well, I mean that I would not trust the MediaGet program with my personal data, passwords there ... To download files, you don’t need any profile there By the way, this tab:

But if anything, you can try, suddenly, after authorization, some super features of MediaGet will open.

Well, I seem to have told everything, it's time to take stock:

  • the MediaGet program is suitable, but you need to know what to download, it happens that there are viruses in all programs, so be careful; it’s just that the program itself downloads and the trackers are safe, but there are where there can be viruses; this is just a note to you;
  • it is possible to immediately play the movie, that is, download and immediately play; if I'm not mistaken, then the same feature in uTorrent comes as a paid one, but here it's free; for me personally, this is strange, especially considering what I read on the Internet that some kind of virus is sitting in MediaGet; the chip can reproduce what is swinging, this is such a kind of lure; in general, these are the things;
  • MediaGet has a clear and stylish interface, everything is done as it seems convenient to me; except that in the settings the font is too pale and it is not always possible to make out what kind of setting it is;
  • in terms of speed, MediaGet does not differ from another program, that is, I did not find any acceleration or slowdown, it swings as usual;
  • Many users complain about MediaGet, and all because it is often set without the knowledge of the user, that is, you just need to uncheck some boxes when installing software, but it’s hard to notice them, so the user doesn’t notice them and MediaGet is also put on the computer; it turns out that users are inattentive, they use it, as a result, they get software on your computer that you did not order; this is a rascal in one word;
  • the program is free, that is, you don’t need to pay any money, though there is a small advertisement and I think that this is a small joint, you can forgive;
  • in addition to video, MediaGet can also play music, which is also cool;
  • the galaxy is in danger: am I a MediaGet virus or not, and the results simply amazed me, I was shocked;

Well, here are the pies guys! Now I just have to show how to remove MediaGet

How to remove the MediaGet program from the computer?

If for some reason you didn’t like MediaGet, maybe it’s much more convenient for you to use the familiar uTorrent, then you can completely remove MediaGet from your computer. But, as you can see, there seems to be nothing particularly dangerous in the program. I checked the browsers - it does not insert its extensions, everything seems to be clean. It seems that this is because, as I wrote at the beginning, some antivirus programs classify MediaGet as potentially dangerous, but I watched it today and it did not seem dangerous to me. But in order to quickly find and start watching a movie, it can help a lot.

So, about the removal. You can do it like in the usual way, that is, through Windows, but you can install a program for yourself and remove the software so that all the garbage after them is also deleted. The program is not difficult, so I recommend to get acquainted.

Now about built-in Windows features to uninstall, click Start, select Control Panel there (if you have Windows 10, then first hold down Win + X and select the desired item in the menu):

Now, among the heap of icons, find Programs and Features, run it:

Find MediaGet in the list, right-click on it and select Uninstall:

The program will be deleted automatically within a couple of seconds. What's interesting is the firm that was listed as the Publisher, did you notice? Look here:

The name of the company very well hints at the direction of the company, well, that is, what is the banner? This is an advertisement on the site, an advertising graphic block

After MediaGet left, the page opened in the browser Internet Explorer, where it was written that we are very sorry that you are leaving:

Lately there have been more and more programs that show something like this when uninstalled ...

And let me remind you that I conducted an experiment on whether MediaGet is a virus or not, so if you are interested, then read it.

Well, it seems that everyone figured out what kind of MediaGet program it is, what it is for and how to remove it. Now it remains to wish you good luck

Often users ask the question: "What is the MediaGet program?". In most cases, you have to look for an unambiguous answer to it yourself. As you know, each user has his own opinion about this application. Some are of the opinion that the program is very useful, while others argue that you have to deal with a real virus. Where to look for the truth? This will be discussed in the article.

guise

Of course, almost every user who uses the Internet to download data comes across MediaGet. Why is this application necessary and how safe is it? First you need to find out what this program is. In short and clear, this is an application that allows you to download files from the network. In a broader sense of the word, this program is a kind of torrent where you can quickly find the required documents and download them to your computer. Needless to say, this is a good idea. However, often reviews about this program are not always positive. The fact is that MediaGet is a program that some people think is good and others bad. In fact, torrents are inauspicious for computers. It is quite possible that this is the reason why negative feedback about the app. However, it is worth noting the existence of another version of what MediaGet is.

Virus

Let's say that most users think that MediaGet is a common network virus. However, it is difficult to say with certainty that this application represents complete security for computer. This means that it may be malware. What is it and why does it make some users panic? It is often a concern when an application appears on a computer unexpectedly, if the user did not pre-download and install it. As a result, it is difficult to determine whether the computer owner is dealing with a real safe program or a malicious file. It is worth noting that in this case there are certain loopholes that can really help to find out what MediaGet is in a particular case.

Toolbar

First of all, you should familiarize yourself with another branch of this program. It's about the MediaGet Toolbar. What is this application? It can be both a safe program and something malicious. However, in general it can be described as follows: MediaGet Toolbar is a compact browser-based manager that allows you to take advantage of all the features of a full-fledged MediaGet. In the program for accessing the network, it is a separately signed search string with multiple settings. Usually, when there is only one toolbar in the browser, the program does not cause danger. In large numbers, these applications are capable of being harmful to the operating system. In general, MediaGet Toolbar can be described as a normal utility that is needed to download files from the Internet. Therefore, if a user finds it on his own computer, do not immediately panic.

Installation

It doesn't take much effort to install MediaGet, the process is easy and simple. Like any other program, installation is performed by downloading the application from the Internet and then launching the installer. Although, in order to ensure the safety of your own computer and protect against viruses and spyware, you should be aware of which source is used to download the application. Why is this needed? The fact is that MediaGet has completely different reviews. These include both positive and not so positive feedback. A user who takes care of their own device should know that it is only necessary to download the app installer from the official website. You can also use the web page from which, as a rule, documents and programs are downloaded. V otherwise a virus may be installed, and not a normal MediaGet.

It is worth noting that it will be extremely difficult to remove it later. Especially if the user did not immediately pay attention to the source or the application developer. When the download is complete, you will be able to install MediaGet. In this case, you need to run the installer, and after that, following simple instructions, bring the process to the end. Then you should restart your computer. No need to be afraid, an ordinary installer asks for permission on its own in order to do it automatically. If this does not happen, you should reboot the system yourself. Thus, all problems will be solved.

Infection detection

True, there are cases when you need to think carefully about what the MediaGet program is. How can I completely remove it from my computer? Usually these problems appear when viruses enter the system. However, modern users are able to understand whether the original version of the product was installed or whether an infection was introduced. First of all, in the process of installing the application, you need to pay attention to the source, as well as the creator. When something suspicious is entered in these lines, you should refuse to download and install.

In addition, MediaGet, which unexpectedly appeared on the computer and was not installed by itself, is nothing but a virus. Therefore, you will have to work hard to remove the computer spy. This is confirmed by numerous user reviews. In addition, experienced people claim that if the device is rebooted operating system starts to "slow down" and "fail". Therefore, we can confidently say that a virus has settled in the computer. And it is likely that this happened because of MediaGet. This means that there is a need to remove it. It is necessary to understand and find the right solution to the problem.

Troubleshooting

As you can see, MediaGet does not always have positive reviews. And, most of the responses are just that. This manager, designed to download files from the Internet, is often used to infect computers, as well as receive personal information users. It is worth noting that this is not the most pleasant moment when the device is infected with various infections. First you need to uninstall the program itself. This is quite simple. True, one point must be taken into account: you do not need to restart the computer until it is completed. complete cleaning from infection. Otherwise, you will need to start all over again.

Then you should scan your computer with an antivirus program. What will be marked as a malicious object should be cured or removed. It all depends on the proposed actions. It is advisable to use the treatment. The next step is to clean system registry. It is usually performed using the CCleaner program. It is launched, configured, and then the "Analysis" button is pressed. Next, click on the "Clean" button. Now Next, you can check the registry again. It must be clean. This completes the troubleshooting steps. It remains only to restart the computer and enjoy the results. Sometimes you even need to reinstall the operating system. However, this can be avoided in most cases.

Using the program

When the question of what is the MediaGet program has been answered, you need to know how to use it. It is worth noting that after installation, you just need to enter a request in a special search box, and then, after selecting the source for download, download the required documents for further use. It should be noted the existence of special navigation buttons. As a rule, this is the end of the use of this program. There is nothing special about this. The main thing is to understand what exactly you want to download to your computer. However, most users are interested in the question of how to increase the speed of MediaGet. Compared to a torrent tracker, downloading large documents requires a long wait. In addition, at any time you can this process, as well as resume again when the need arises. However, the issue of increasing speed has always been acute. In this case, the solution will be to connect a faster Internet tariff. As a result, the download process will be faster, but not by much. There is no other way to increase the speed of loading documents. Everything else is a hacker's invention.

Thus, all of the above should be summed up. As you can see, MediaGet is enough useful application. It is often used by most users. True, you should be careful with it, since file download managers are potentially dangerous elements. These often include viruses and computer spies. If there is a need to use these programs, it is advisable to install MediaGet. According to user reviews, it does not pose too much danger, as it might seem at first glance.

  • Your Internet connection speed. You cannot download faster than your tariff and operator (provider) allow. Typically, operators indicate the connection speed in megabits per second (for example, 20 Mb / s), while the download speed is measured in megabytes per second. There are 8 bits in 1 byte, so the actual file download speed at a connection speed of 20 Mb / s. will be at least 8 times lower (~2.5 Mb/s). Your Internet channel is limited if any program (browser, other download manager, online game) at this point running, the speed will be less proportionally. Sometimes the download speed drops even lower due to other external factors (interference, distribution features, etc.). Also, your antivirus may block the download of files using the .torrent protocol. In this case, you need to add MediaGet to the antivirus exclusions.
  • If you are using mobile internet, often providers limit or block the ability to download files using the .torrent protocol. To clarify this nuance, you need to contact the support service of your mobile Internet provider.

    • The number of "seeders" (people distributing given file) . Some files that can be downloaded using MediaGet do not have distributors, i.e. you have no one to download it from. This is a feature of p2p networks. There are several options for solving the problem:
      • search for another file with the same name, but with the presence of seeders;
      • wait until the distributors appear on the network and let you download the file you need;
      • ask to “stand for distribution”, i.e. contact those people who have already downloaded this file, so that they return to the distribution, which will make it possible for others to download the file. You can read more about the features of file exchange in p2p networks and the principles of the Torrent protocol.
    • Connection limit reached. To resolve this issue, go to "Settings" → "Advanced settings" → "Connections" and next to the port of incoming connections, click the button "Accidentally". This function will change the port and your download will resume. The speed drops to a minimum when the download reaches the end. Why? This may be due to the peculiarity of the work of the MediaGet client (and similar programs). The file is split into parts that you receive from different users. If a particular part is missing from a fast source, or a source with that part is temporarily unable to transfer the file, you have a speed dip. We can recommend restarting the program (“Menu” → “Exit”, start again). If after that there were no changes, it is necessary to wait for the resumption of the distribution of the missing part of the file. If this doesn't happen long time, then we recommend downloading another distribution using our search. Select a file that has the largest number sources(Such files are marked with five stars).

      During the installation process, the message "Error while downloading" appears. installation files(winnet code...)", "MediaGet installer has stopped working". What should I do? This problem caused by incorrect configuration Internet browser Explorer on your PC. Even if you are using a different browser, you need to do the following to fix the problem:

      • disable on the Internet Explorer mode "Work autonomously"(to do this, launch IE, right-click on the gray space at the top and in the menu that appears, select « Command line» . Further, in the line that appears in the tab "Service" uncheck the box next to "Work autonomously");
      • exit IE and open it again to check for this checkbox;
      • close IE and open task manager to make sure the MediaGet installer is not already running;
      • run the MediaGet installer. With MediaGet enabled, pages in the browser load very slowly, even though my Internet speed is quite high. What to do? Most likely you have half-open connection limit exceeded. To solve this problem, you need to download and install a special free patch.

        How to download mediaget file for free but not distribute it? After downloading the file on the tab "Downloads" right click on the file and click "Delete" > "Remove download from list", or after downloading the file, click the "Pause" button so that the file is not distributed, but remains in the list of downloads.
        How to restore a download after being deleted from the download list? Start downloading this file again. The program itself will find the under-downloaded file and continue downloading. You can also search for a previously downloaded .torrent file in temporary files or browser downloads and open it.
        I have set the files to download and I want the computer to turn off when the download is complete. How should I do it?
        Right-click on the MediaGet icon in the lower right corner of your screen (in the tray), in the menu that appears, select the section "PC shutdown" and activate the corresponding item.
        I noticed that sometimes the download speed through the browser is higher than through MediaGet. Why?
        Perhaps the point is that the server that gives you the file through the browser is able to keep the connection to your computer at a speed higher than the user's computer that gives you the file through MediaGet. Try downloading the file from large quantity sources
        File download stopped suddenly. What to do?
        You are welcome, check your internet connection. If other programs (ICQ, Skype, browser) work, check the C/P column(seeds/peers) in the tab "Downloads" in the MediaGet client. If there are no seeds there, there is no one to distribute the file. Wait for the dealers to appear or use the search to find another distribution.

        The program does not allow you to download a large file. Why?
        Make sure the drive on which the program is installed is formatted in file system NTFS(cannot be done in 95/98/ME). FAT32 do not support files of 4GB or more.
        In order to reformat the file system to NTFS, you need an operating system. Windows system 2000 XP and up. Please use next instruction:

    On the Internet, many users are dissatisfied with MediaGet and say that it contains a virus, a trojan, or some other nonsense. I decided to check it all and figure it out. To do this, I will install MediaGet on my computer and check it with several antivirus programs(As it turned out, one was enough) to find out if it was a virus or not. I hope that this information will be useful to you too. Also, after digging around on the Internet, I came to the conclusion that a lot of users think that MediaGet is a virus. Therefore, I definitely need to figure out MediaGet here, everything is as usual, I just unchecked the extra checkboxes during installation. And by the way, I also advise you to do this when installing any software. The first anti-virus utility that I will check the computer for advertising viruses and adware, it will be AdwCleaner. It has proven itself to be an effective tool against adware infection. Scanning begins and these are the infected folders found:

    Infected files:

    And the registry:

    That’s all - I didn’t see the presence of dangerous objects anywhere else, that is, there are no virus extensions in browsers, and there are no virus shortcuts either.

    In general, this all means that AdwCleaner considers MediaGet program as a virus and therefore deletes it. After AdwCleaner removed MediaGet, after restarting the computer, the following report was issued:

    In which it is written what exactly was removed. As you can see, I didn't even have to use several anti-virus utilities, everything was clear after checking AdwCleaner. What do I think about this? MediaGet is hardly a real virus. It's a little different. MediaGet is classified as a potentially dangerous program for the reason that it may contain a hidden botnet virus, this virus does not actually pose a direct danger to the user. It doesn't steal anything, doesn't show ads, doesn't change settings. It is just quiet, when you are not doing anything special at the computer, then at this time it can use the performance of your PC for its own purposes.

    Botnet, what is it? This is a network of PCs infected with a botnet virus, which together constitute a powerful computing system to solve certain hacker tasks. That is, there is no such goal in the first place as to steal your passwords, social accounts. networks and more.

    This is exactly the reason why I think that MediaGet software is potentially dangerous!

    And here are the reasons:

    • MediaGet, whatever one may say, works with torrent networks, that is, it downloads and distributes, in any case, traffic goes in two directions: to you and from you; in this mode, it is difficult to determine the presence of malicious connections;
    • the program is quite convenient, it has ads (albeit a little), it does everything as it is written on the official website, that is, it finds, downloads or plays the video right away;
    • very interesting point, MediaGet can play videos from a torrent, while in uTorrent this feature is paid, it's not entirely clear here; the developers of uTorrent are not fools to charge a price for something that is free in another torrent client; or maybe it's the free MediaGet client that has a feature to kick users off to uTorrent; in general, for me today a program that works stably, quickly, clearly, with user-friendly interface and at the same time it is free, and it also has something that others do not have (or rather, there is, but only in the paid version) - it looks suspicious; as if it’s not just that it’s all .. well, this is a note to you;

    Well, I wrote all my thoughts, something seems to me that it is better to remove MediaGet from your computer and not use it anymore, so to speak, out of trouble.
