Comparison htc desire. The best HTC smartphones according to consumer reviews
Today, the Galaxy S5 remains a pioneer smartphone in the Android market, since after its introduction, other smartphone manufacturers repeat Samsung's ideas. Even HTC is releasing its new smartphone HTC Desire EYE, which becomes a competitor to S5 in many ways. So now it's time for us to go back to the comparisons and see what HTC has to offer vs. Samsung flagship. We will evaluate the design, performance and all the characteristics, but without going into too much detail.
Design
Both smartphones received plastic cases, and both are not afraid to fall into the water, which makes them useful in most situations when simple phones refuse to work. So you can shoot both photos and videos even in the rain, without fear that the phone will be damaged. In addition, HTC is already creating a more stylish design, it is worth recognizing - HTC Desire EYE looks attractive due to its shape and monolithic body. In contrast, the Galaxy S5 is still thinner and more sophisticated in design, but it lacks charm compared to the Desire EYE.
Display
Being modern smartphones, Galaxy S5 and HTC Desire EYE delight us with their displays, although technically they used different technologies. The smartphone from HTC traditionally has a LCD display with Full HD resolution and a diagonal of 5.2 inches. It does its job very well - outdoors the picture is clearly distinguishable, and the color reproduction is quite neutral. As for the Galaxy S5, it has a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. This screen impresses us with wide viewing angles, richer color reproduction, and adaptation to lighting conditions. However, slightly oversaturated colors may not be to everyone's liking, which is corrected in the settings. In the end, it's a matter of personal preference.
Interface
We have already compared both user interface from Samsung and HTC. Therefore, we will not dwell on the details. HTC did a nice job of optimizing the camera app on the Desire EYE, but everything else is mostly left untouched, so it's the same as before. Meanwhile, if you prefer more modern design and a simplified interface, you'll love Sense 6.0. At the same time, Samsung's TouchWiz UI has a lot of unique features and software features, although many will find that this greatly complicates the interface. However, many people appreciate Samsung's desire to add useful features to the smartphone.
Processor and Memory
Looking under the body of smartphones, we immediately know that we are dealing with flagships. To be precise, both have Snapdragon 801 quad-core processors with a frequency of 2.3GHz, as well as 2GB of RAM. It turns out that on this moment these are typical characteristics of flagship-class Android smartphones. Even when testing work, they show the same interface response rate.
In addition, it is worth mentioning the possibility of increasing memory by microSD cards, and both smartphones.
Camera
Needless to say, we're happy to see that HTC has decided to install a high-resolution 13-megapixel camera in the Desire EYE - instead of the ultra-pixel camera found in the HTC One M8. However, the flagship Galaxy S5 still has an even higher 16-megapixel camera, and you already know from our previous reviews and comparisons how good it is and what its drawbacks are, especially in low light. With such remarks, the Desire EYE camera will seriously compete with the S5 camera. However, when it comes to video recording, the EYE is limited to 1080p, while the S5 can shoot video at 4K resolution.
Expectations for HTC Desire EYE and samsung galaxy S5
The Galaxy S5 hit the market during a busy holiday season, meaning it's been on sale for quite some time now, but it still remains a strong contender in the market despite fierce competition. For a model that is a few months old, it remains relevant, although there are many other Android smartphones with similar characteristics. Of course, HTC Desire EYE has just appeared, but even now it looks very interesting and has quite a lot of strengths to get your attention.
Taiwanese manufacturer HTC previously held a large market share, but since 2015, its share has declined. And when everyone already thought that HTC was not able to compete with global manufacturers, the company announced itself with a new flagship line - first One, and then the U series.
Below - best phones brands that collect positive reviews buyers.
1st place - HTC U12 Plus
The best for the middle and end of 2018 - new flagship U12+, which previously appeared in our reviews and took 1st place in and.
Parameters:
- Complete water protection. On the sides there are Edge sense touch panels that recognize the grip force and activate various functions. For example, you can take a selfie by squeezing the case.
- LCD-display with a diagonal of 6 inches; resolution - 2880 × 1140.
- Dual camera with 12 and 16 MP modules, optical 2X zoom without loss of quality, optical stabilization, f/1.75 aperture. On my own, I’ll add that the camera here is amazing - in the DxOmark rating, the device took 2nd place after Huawei P20 Pro. You will find photo examples.
- Processor from Qualcomm - Snapdragon 845 with Adreno graphics Performance for 3-4 years ahead is guaranteed.
- 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage.
- Face scanner, fingerprint.
Technical and physical execution on highest level. There is literally nothing to complain about - the phone is solid, monolithic, the Edge Sense panels work accurately and simplify the process of using a "shovel". Squeezed once - activated one function, twice - another, etc. That is, the panels are user-programmable - with them access to the camera, contacts and frequently used applications is faster. The display is cool and in terms of color reproduction, saturation is better than Samsung's AMOLED screens, although the argument is appropriate. At the end of 2018 - the beginning of 2019, this is the crown of technology from HTC. Somewhere in the middle of 2019, we are waiting for a new flagship, but so far the U12 Plus is the best in the line of the Taiwanese brand.
2nd place - U11 Plus
The previous flagship in the line is U11 Plus and its younger version U11. Naturally, the device with the prefix plus is better.
Specifications:
- Protection against water and dust. As in the U12+, the Edge Sensor body compression sensor is implemented here, which performs the same functions.
- LCD-display with a diagonal of 6 inches; resolution is 2K. The top is scratch-resistant glass.
- The 12 MP rear camera received optical stabilization, f / 1.7 aperture and video shooting at a resolution of 3840 × 2160. Front - 8 MP.
- Chipset from Qualcomm - TOP processor of 2017 - Snapdragon 835, which is about 30% weaker than the new "845th Snap". 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage.
- 3930 mAh battery, support for Quick Charge 3.0, which allows you to fill the battery from zero to 100% in about 50 minutes.

An excellent expensive device - after U12 + this best model. It is logical to put U11 without the Plus prefix in the same position. Recommended for purchase.
3rd place - HTC Desire 12
Budget phone of the 12th series, presented by HTC in parallel with the flagship.
Parameters:
- 5.5 inch IPS display. Resolution - 1440×720.
- 13MP rear sensor with f/2.2 aperture. Front camera with a resolution of 5 megapixels.
- Chinese MediaTek MT6739 chipset, 3GB RAM and 32GB storage.
- Battery 2730 mAh.
There is no NFC, 5 GHz Wi-Fi, water protection and other flagship chips. This is a fresh and large “state employee”, which has not yet had time to collect reviews, since it has been on the market recently. It works with 2 SIM cards, recognizes flash drives up to 2 TB, works with GLONASS, GPS navigation and, in general, is a good solution.
Cons: poor screen resolution, average photo quality on the main camera, no NFC.
4th place - HTC U Ultra
The device is the flagship of 2017 based on the Snapdragon 821 processor. At the end of 2018, it remains relevant and has a small margin of performance for the future.
Specifications:
- LCD 5 display. Diagonal - 5.7 inches, resolution - 2560 × 1440. There is an additional display - 2.05 inches with a resolution of 160 × 1040.
- Snapdragon 821 with 4 GB of RAM.
- 12 MP camera with optical stabilization, f/1.8 aperture. Front - 16 MP.
- 3000 mAh battery + QC 3.0 support, allowing you to quickly charge your smartphone - in just an hour up to 100%.
According to user reviews, we highlight the advantages and disadvantages.

And although the device in 2018 and even more so in 2019 is considered slightly outdated, it is a worthy representative of the middle price segment, which is much better than any modern “state employee” for the same money.
5th place - HTC Desire 530
The budget smartphone is one of the best in the Desire line with positive reviews.
Parameters:
- 5" HD LCD display. Low pixel density - only 294 per inch.
- 8 MP rear camera, f/2.4 aperture.
- Weak Snapdragon processor 210, 1.5 GB RAM and 16 GB storage.
- Support 4G, there is NFC.
- Battery 2200 mAh.
Given the low price, the phone is recommended for purchase. It is of high quality, perfectly assembled, performs standard tasks, but you should not count on performance and cool photos. There are no unique chips and technologies here, but it is foolish to expect something in a device for 7000 rubles.
Reminder: The review is based on customer feedback and is therefore subjective.

Features optical trackball, HTC Sense interface; the smartphone is equipped with an AMOLED or SuperLCD screen; the ability to upgrade the operating system to Android 2.3 Sales start date 2010-04-01Seven phones were compared by six important features. Which selfie smartphone turned out to be the most attractive?
Selfies are a new fashion trend, and smartphone manufacturers offer devices that allow you to take them better and more conveniently. HTC did not stand aside, and before that they were highly appreciated by the public. Her new smartphone Desire Eye pleased with a 13-megapixel front camera. How new device compares with other phones on the market for self-photographers?
The novelty is based on the Snapdragon 801, has two gigabytes of RAM, a waterproof plastic case, a 5.2-inch display with a resolution of 1080p, BoomSound speakers, a 32-gigabyte drive, and a slot for cards. microSD memory. The device receives energy from its 2400 mAh battery. In addition to the front, it also has a 13-megapixel camera on the back with a dual light-emitting diode (LED) flash. All this sounds pretty good, but Kunal Khullar, a columnist for the Digit.in resource, decided to compare the characteristics of the novelty with the specifications of similar phones.
