Published on 08/22/2011 03:39 PM (Portable Document Format ) on the dashboard Standard proposed button Export to PDF. Another way to convert is to run the command FileExport to PDF. There is another team Export. The difference between these export methods is as follows: in the first case, it is proposed to convert only to PDF, and in the second: to PDF or to TXT (MediaWiki) (subspecies TXT).

After pressing the button Export to PDF dialog box opens Export. Listed File format one of the conversion formats is selected: *.pdf or *.txt . To convert a document, click the button Save. After executing the command FileExport to PDFa window opens PDF Options(Fig. 6).

There is another universal (for all applications) way to create *.pdf files - using a virtual printer, which creates a file in *.pdf format. To install this virtual printer, you must install Adobe Acrobat (which includes Adobe Distiller ), Bullzip PDF Printer, or Softland novaPDF . Selecting a virtual printer is done in a dialog box Seal.

Creating a PDF has a number of features that need to be discussed. Not all text is translated into PDF, but only typed in True Type and Open Type fonts. Text typed in Type 1 or bitmap fonts with the command Export to PDF PDF is not imported. To embed Type 1 fonts in a PDF document, you need to use another option: do not save the document in PDF format, but organize virtual printing. Virtual Print also creates a PDF file, but embeds Type 1 fonts. There are many programs that create virtual printers, but not all of them embed Type 1 fonts, although there are no problems with other types of fonts. Many virtual printing programs ignore characters created with Type 1 fonts, meaning those characters are not written to the PDF file at all. The best option: install virtual printing programs from Adobe.

The LibreOffice .org Writer program can work with bitmap fonts, unlike the program Microsoft Word. Microsoft Program Word latest versions also no longer works with Type 1 fonts. Although the ban on the use of Type 1 fonts in Microsoft Word is easy to get around: for some reason, the ban only applies to the ban on the use of Type 1 fonts only from the keyboard, and there is no ban on entering using symbols. Inserting Type 1 text from other documents is also not prohibited in Microsoft Word. There are no such restrictions in LibreOffice .org Writer.

Bitmap fonts can be imported from LibreOffice .org Writer. To do this, you need to run the command FileExport to PDF. After that, in the window that opens PDF Options(Fig. 6) go to the tab Are common. Check the box in the option PDF /A-1. Listed Transmission format select value PDF. Click on the button Export. For Type 1 fonts, this method is not suitable, because text typed in such fonts will not even be visible in the document. Unfortunately no messages or warnings about usage different types There are no fonts in LibreOffice .org Writer and an inexperienced user may accidentally use Type 1 fonts and then create inaccurate PDF files. The only program I know of that correctly creates PDF files from any type of font is Adobe Distiller. Commercial program.

Portable Document Format (PDF) is used to provide documents in a static form without the possibility of editing. However, PDF supports embedding fillable forms. LibreOffice includes standard means to create similar PDF files.

1. Open LibreOffice Writer and create a new document.

2. Go to "View → Toolbars → Controls" and turn on the panel "Controls".

You should see something like this:

This panel allows you to add various form fields to your document.

3. Now select any of the form elements (for example, "Text field") and pressing the left mouse button, stretch it to the desired size.

4. Double-click the text field with the left mouse button.

A control window will appear where you can edit the text field metadata (size, formatting, etc.) or add an event.

Other form elements are added and configured in a similar way.

5. After placing the necessary elements, go to "File → Export to PDF". Check the box in the export menu "Create PDF Form". Any format can be used as the transfer format. The most commonly used format FDF.

Click the button "Export" and choose a location to save the finished PDF form. Open the resulting PDF file in a PDF viewer and you will see all the form fields in the document. Fill in the fields and save the PDF document. When reopening, the completed data will remain intact.

P.S. When filling out forms in a regular PDF viewer, I had a problem with Cyrillic, the text in Russian was not displayed. After some inquiries, it turned out that this was a problem with a particular PDF viewer. Keep in mind. Therefore, in the last screenshot you can see that I used as a viewer Google browser Chrome, but Mozilla Fierfox reads PDF files, but does not support filling out forms.

A ready-made example of creating PDF forms is available at the link

I recently wrote about what . Also, many people have a question about how and with what it is possible to edit such files.

This instruction is about several ways to do this, while we will proceed from the fact that we are not going to buy Adobe Acrobat for 10 thousand rubles, but simply want to make some changes to an existing PDF file.

With free ways PDF editing files, as you can see, is quite tight. However, if we do not have the task of making changes to such documents every day and for a long time, and we just want to correct something somewhere once, then conditionally free programs allowing you to use their features for a limited period of time. Among them are:

  • Magic PDF Editor http://www.magic-pdf.com/ (update 2017: site stopped working) is an easy-to-use program that allows you to modify pdf files while maintaining all formatting.
  • Foxit PhantomPDF https://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf-editor/ is another simple PDF editing program that also allows free use for 30 days.

There are also two more almost free ways, which, however, I will take out in the next section. Everything that was above is the simplest program for minor edits of pdf files, which, nevertheless, do their job quite well.

Two More Ways to Edit PDF

  1. If for some reason all of the above did not suit you, then nothing prevents you from downloading the trial Adobe version Acrobat Pro from the official website http://www.adobe.com/ru/products/acrobatpro.html . You can do just about anything with PDF files with this software. In fact, this is a "native" program for this format files.
  2. Microsoft Office versions 2013 and 2016 allow you to edit PDF files. True, there is one “BUT” here: Word converts the pdf file for editing, and does not make changes in itself, and after the necessary changes have been made, you can export the document from Office to PDF. I haven't tried it myself, but for some reason I'm not entirely sure that the result will be fully consistent with what is expected with this option.

like this short review programs and services. Try. I want to note that, as before, I recommend downloading programs only from the official websites of manufacturing companies. Numerous search results in the form of "free download PDF editor» can easily be the result of viruses and other malware on your computer.

I recently wrote about how to open a pdf file. Also, many people have a question about how and with what it is possible to edit such files? V this review I will talk about several ways to do this, and we will proceed from the fact that you are not going to purchase a licensed copy of a product such as Adobe Acrobat for 10 thousand rubles, but simply want to make small changes to an existing PDF file or vice versa, create it.

PDF editing can be done with LibreOffice. This is a free office suite that lets you open, edit, and even save PDF files. You can download the Russian version on the official website libreoffice.org. To carry out the above actions, you need to use the Writer program.

There is one more trick. If you change the extension of the created pdf document to .rtf, or simply open it directly in LibreOffice Writer, then everything can be edited.

You can do just about anything with PDF files with this software. In fact, this is a "native" program for this file format.

If you are not able to download and install anything (or maybe just lazy), then you should try editing or creating a PDF document in the pdfescape.com online service.

The only drawback is the lack of Russification on it “everything is in English”.

Google Docs Online Service allows you to convert pdf and only then work with the document, then to export it to pdf.

Website for online editing ilovepdf.com also allows you to easily edit pdf files.
