How to distinguish a fake samsung tablet from the original. Firmware for the Chinese tablet Samsung N8000

All sorts of people go to the stations and offer expensive tablets for the cheap.

The owner of this tablet was exactly the same way he was "charged". There is internet, it says samsung samsung galaxy note N8000, but actually far from samsung samsung.

Looking ahead, I’ll say that it’s better to take yourself normal And well working a tablet on the Internet than to suffer with the restoration of the performance of this fake. For example, this one. Stopudovo will work without any glitches.

So, to the question of fake - this is how it looks from the outside, in a case, and there is even a keyboard :)

When turned on, they assure that it is Samsung. But we don't believe.

Even Samsung is written on the back cover, but we are still tormented by doubts :)

Just because Galaxy model note N8000 in the original looks different, samsung camera front in the center at least, and five more significant differences can be found. Here's another option with the Samsung Galaxy Note N7000.

And when you open it, we see the now quite popular Allwinner A13 chip

Actually the problem was that it could not boot. The Samsung logo appears, then Android, with a spinning arrow, and at one fine moment the arrow freezes and the download stops, the tablet freezes.

Thanks to the w3bsit3-dns.com forum, the firmware for this device was found from Jelly_Bean in this forum thread, it was flashed without problems, it works in full functionality. If you have the same model as I have in the photos, you need the firmware MaPan_MX913_DC_Jelly_Bean_4.2_Os_Root_Firmware_J20131101.img

Everything works, both cameras, wi-fi, volume buttons, everything is as it should be.

Saved on batteries. Battery capacity is too small for long-term operation of the device, only 2300 mAh (8.55 W)

The keyboard, by the way, also works, is fully functional, only for Russian letters it will be necessary to install a third-party application.

Due to the large number of questions about what kind of third party application there is a speech - I answer. Russian keyboard.

So, in the market we download the program "Russian keyboard". Go to "settings", then "language and input". Click "Default" and in the window that opens, select "Russian keyboard". Below the "Default" window, also check the box next to "Russian keyboard", and on the right we see a small icon (like a mixer, regulator) Click on it. We go to the "hardware keyboard". Click "layout selection", select "External Keyboard RU". We go into the "layout switching" and there we select the language switching mode on the keyboard that suits you (space is a space). Everything is ready! Exit the settings menu and go to any search engine. Click on the small keyboard icon on the panel and select "Russian keyboard". We try to print - everything should work. If the keyboard will still print in Latin letters, restart the tablet.

The keyboard shortcut works the same way as in Windows - Alt+tab :)

After the firmware, we should see such a picture in the settings.

Counterfeit Samsung tablet Galaxy Note N8000 64Gb.

Unexpectedly for myself, quite recently I happened to encounter a powerful Samsung tablet from the Galaxy Note N8000 series on 64Gb, and to be more precise, I had a chance to encounter a fake of this model.

Ran about a week ago phone call. A friend called me and told me that he was offered to buy new tablet for just $250. At that time he was interested real cost of Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 64Gb 3G tablet, to which I answered him with data received from Yandex Market - the price of a new tablet varies from 7.9 to 9.5 million Belarusian rubles ($800 - $970).

For the sake of interest, I looked at the characteristics of this model.

Characteristics of the tablet Samsung Galaxy Note N8000 64Gb.

4-core processor at 1400 MHz
2 gigabytes random access memory
64 gigabytes of built-in memory
10.1 inch screen
High screen resolution - 1280 by 800 pixels
2 cameras
Case with separate keyboard
Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and other gadgets

The model is more than solid, the tablet was bought at the beginning of the month in the city of Moscow, but now the owner has a need for money and therefore he sells it. A friend told me that this tablet even has warranty card and receipt from the store with the Euroset stamp, which basically eliminates the possibility of forgery.

Omitting details, he bought this tablet for $150, and he received such a discount after he said that he should connect it to a computer and check everything. Neither one nor the other had time, so they agreed on this.

A little later, my friend brought this tablet to me for testing, but at that time I had things to do, and I still had to go to training. In the end, I was able to start checking the tablet only late in the evening, and this is where the fun began.

How to check the tablet?

When I came home, I tried to turn on the tablet, but it didn’t work out for me the first time. It turned out that the battery of the Galaxy Note N8000 tablet was completely discharged.

I connected it via USB to my computer, the charging indicator on the screen lit up and then for the first time I was able to start the device.

Cool - everything works, I opened applications, clicked settings, connected the tablet to WiFi, used the Internet and even played some games installed by the previous owner. During such work, the tablet turned off by itself several times, and the battery level constantly jumped in an incomprehensible way - this alerted me a little. Later, I attributed all the problems to a dead battery, turned off the tablet and left it to charge.

When my friend returned for a tablet, he asked me to throw him a couple of films and imagine my surprise when instead of 64 gigabytes my computer recognized only 2.

The tablet settings displayed and inner memory and another 64 gigs, but for some reason not all of them worked.

I decided that N8000 tablet lacks drivers. There was indeed an unrecognized device labeled "Android" in device manager.

I climbed to the official website of Samsung, chose desired device, downloaded and installed the program on your computer Samsung Kies 3 with drivers and immediately ran into a new riddle. The thing is that the device was not recognized by the program at all, at the moment when my Samsung smartphone Galaxy S 2 was perfectly defined.

I'm sitting at a dead end - I don't understand what this tablet needs, what it lacks. In general, I fiddled with it for about 2-3 more hours before I began to think that it might even turn out to be a banal fake.

I visited the legendary portal about mobile devices ah w3bsit3-dns.com, looking for useful information, I tried to update the operating system of the tablet, tried to reflash it and eventually even did hard reset (full reset), but never received any results.

The next day I called another friend who also computer technology and tried to find out if he faced a similar problem. It turned out that stacked and sent me in the right direction. He said it was fake.

How to distinguish a real tablet from a fake?

For a while, I searched the Internet for any related information on how to distinguish a real tablet from a fake, in particular, how to identify a fake in the Samsung Galaxy Note N8000.

1. With the original tablet, the camera is in the center- at a fake it is shifted into a corner.
2. With a real tablet Samsung Galaxy Note N8000 screen resolution 1280x800- the resolution of the fake is much lower. In my case, it was 960 by 600 - in other words, the shortcuts and app icons were just huge.
3. Counterfeit tablet models do not have GPS. Try to turn it on, and everything will immediately fall into place.
4. Original Samsung smartphones and tablets in bare mode equipped special applications like Samsung Apps, ChatON, Group Cast, etc. at a time when the functionality of fake versions is significantly curtailed.
5. IMEI code of course, not an indicator, however, in new and real devices it is always present, and fakes usually have “unknown” instead of it - unknown.
6. Fake Samsung Tablets are not recognized by the original Samsung Kies.

A little from myself and pictures.

I’m sure if you dig deeper on the Internet, you can find many more ways with which you can identify a fake, however, in this case, for me, the very fact of the distribution of such tablets has become a kind of discovery.

Okay, here my friend bought a tablet directly from his hands on the street, but, it turns out, there were cases when such models were quietly sold to customers in fairly reputable stores like Svyaznoy. Where is the world heading?

And yes, by the way, after realizing and accepting the fact that the purchased samsung tablet Galaxy Note N8000 on 64Gb turned out to be a fake, I again asked my friend to show the warranty card and receipt from the store.

At first glance, everything is as it should be, the amount matches on all documents, the check attached with a stapler to the warranty card, the seal, as is usually done in stores, is superimposed on the corner - everything is according to the rules. But if you take a closer look, it turns out that for some reason the booklet for the tablet comes from the Samsung Galaxy TAB and not from the Samsung Galaxy Note, and for some reason the same IMEI code is not registered at all.

In fact, this is what the tablet itself looked like.

This is what the main application menu looks like. Pay attention to the huge labels, which are unlikely to match the high resolution I mentioned earlier.

And these are the settings of a fake tablet. The N8000 model, android version and other indicators are the same, but where are the guarantees that these data are generally adequate?

This is how the back cover of the Samsung Galaxy Note N8000 64Gb tablet looks like.

And by the way, an acquaintance whom I called in order to find out if he came across such a fake, said that most often the inscription on the back cover was not made with paint, but simply pasted, so this moment can also be used as a test.

Considering that today it was difficult for me to find at least some information about fakes of this nature on the Internet, I hope that few people fell for the bait of scammers and they will not get away with it.

In general, here are the things. Good luck everyone and be careful.

If you were offered to buy a fake or, God forbid, you fell victim to these scammers and scammers, tell your friends about it. Warn and protect your loved ones!

Law enforcement agencies are not interested in solving such problems, and judging by how actively the discussion is going on, it has already gained tremendous momentum.

I believe that at this stage the dissemination of information in in social networks this is probably the most efficient way. Click on the "LIKE" button below this article and add a link to your wall. Your friends and all those who view your profile will see this warning and may have time to respond correctly.

Let everyone know about this lawlessness - this is quite logical and correct.

While cases of counterfeit tablets are on the rise, we offer several ways to distinguish a fake from the original.

Recently, fakes on Samsung tablets have become more frequent. How to distinguish a fake from the original? During the tablet tests, we studied two fake Samsung Galaxy Note and found many differences, knowing about which will help not to fall for the bait of scammers.

So, two fakes came to us through third parties: and Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 SM-P600, better known as Galaxy Note 2014 Edition. The history of acquiring fake tablets for many is about the same: a market, a train station or a street, a bustling atmosphere, a certain person who needs money and does not need a tablet, generously offers to buy a tablet from hand and for a very low price. The purchase is accompanied by a check from the Euroset (well, or another "network") and a warranty card. Moreover, in our case, in addition to charging and a USB adapter, a case with a keyboard in it was already included in the kit.

How to distinguish a fake by check?

The first thing we noticed was, of course, checks. These, at first glance, checks, upon closer examination, turn out to be fake. By the way, Euroset checks are most often forged.

We turned to Evroset-Retail LLC for a comment, but they couldn’t tell us anything over the phone and advised us to contact law enforcement. But in the salons of Euroset, experienced sellers immediately found many differences between a fake check and the original. According to them, cash receipts may differ from region to region and from city to city, but regardless of this, certain information must be present on each check of the network, which was not found on counterfeit checks:

- On a real check, Euroset-Retail LLC should be written, and not Euroset LLC. Check true name legal entity retailer, as a rule, you can either on the official websites of these retailers, or in sales outlets.

- The full name of the goods must also be on the real check. In this case, the fake receipt did not contain the full name of the product (in our case, it was on the cash receipt that Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 should have been written)

- The receipt must have the serial number of the goods (in our case, it was not).

- The full name of the seller must be present. The seller's name was not on the counterfeit check.

How to distinguish a fake by the appearance of the device?

Appearance front panel.

As a rule, a fake tablet looks different from the original. In our case, both fakes look almost the same from the front: only the SM-P600 fake has the logo moved upwards, like the original, and applied crookedly, which is visible even to the eye. The fake N8000 has a logo at the bottom, as it should be with the real Galaxy Note N8000. In our case, it was easy to distinguish a fake by the size of the tablet. The diagonal of the displays of both fakes does not exceed 9 inches, instead of the prescribed 10.1 inches!

— Availability and location of ports and connectors.

Paradoxically, a fake almost always differs from the original in a set of ports. So this time, they did not at all resemble what Samsung tablets should have.

The most notable, perhaps, is a separate “back” button on the top edge and a separate DC power socket on the right (the charger in the kit had a specific plug, not a Micro-USB plug). Actually, this Charger- one of the important indicators of a fake. Many people then go to stores for the same charger from “Samsung tablets” and are sincerely surprised that Samsung does not and did not have such chargers.

- View of the rear panel.

As for the rear panels, here the scammers “got something wrong”. For some reason, a fake on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 back panel very cheaply stylized under the skin, and the fake on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 SM-P600 has a smooth back, when the originals should have the opposite: the real Samsung Galaxy Tab N8000 is smooth at the back, and the Galaxy Note 2014 Edition has a back under the skin. In addition, in both cases, the camera lenses are offset to the corner, and not located in the center.

How to distinguish crafts by filling and functionality?

The third thing you should also pay attention to is the filling and functionality of the device. Fakes differ from real ones in every possible way. Some things you can easily check:

- Displays. The easiest way to "see" a fake is to turn on the display. Most often, pixels are visible on them, and the colors do not look quite natural. The fake displays are terrible - with a resolution of 800x480 pixels, instead of the promised 1280x800 on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 and the supposed 2560x1600 for the Note 10.1 SM-P600. Not to mention the color reproduction and matrix.

- Battery. If during the 5-minute presentation of the tablet, the battery charge drops by more than 1-2%, then this is most likely not the original. The battery of fakes sits down quite quickly, literally in half an hour. In our test of two fake Samsungs, the batteries lost 10% of their charge in 5-7 minutes! Moreover, when charging from the mains, the charger from the kit began to whistle and crackle.

- Processor. The fakes use ultra-cheap processors from Allwinner (the AnTuTu benchmark identified our tablets as Allwinner-Tablet N8000 and Allwinner-Tablet SM-P600). The processors of this company are very cheap: for example, the "more expensive" Allwinner A33 processor can be bought for $ 4 - you can imagine how much the Allwinner A23 used in these tablets costs.

Benchmarks showed that both devices are weaker than Samsung's flagship smartphone from two years ago - Samsung Galaxy S3: one was rated half as weak, the other about a quarter. The Allwinner SM-P600 has almost half a gigabyte of RAM, which is why it turned out to be stronger, but the Allwinner N8000 has only a quarter of a GB! Basically, at first Apple The iPad had the same amount of RAM and sold great, only that was 4 years ago.

The fake has an Allwinner Tech A23 processor instead of the original Exynos 4412

- Cameras. They are very easy to check. To do this, you need to go to the camera settings and see the maximum photo resolution. If you see that the resolution is small, then this is definitely a fake. Both fakes that got into the Product-test turned out to have two cameras, both at 0.3 MP!

- GPS receiver. Go to settings and see if you can enable GPS and if there are any settings for it. Or try downloading any GPS test app like GPS test. If there is no GPS, then it will be impossible to download applications and a corresponding message will appear stating that GPS is not supported.

Both "our" fake tablets did not have a GPS receiver. Theoretically, it is possible that there is GPS, but there is no such function in the settings, and it will not be determined by any navigation programs. True, this is almost unbelievable and is tantamount to their absence for most users.

- If the seller (or documentation) claims that the tablet is equipped with a modem, then it must also have an IMEI number. If you could not find it, then ask your seller to do it for you. If a tablet equipped with a modem IMEI numbers No, you most likely have a fake in your hands.

— Interface. Original Samsung tablets use the proprietary TouchWiz interface. You can distinguish by eye if you have ever seen a “naked” Android and once held a real Samsung tablet in your hands.

Fake Samsung Galaxy Note N8000 Interface Original Samsung Galaxy Note N8000 Interface

- Instructions for the tablet. You just have to look at it and read a little. In our case, the instructions for both tablets were full of typos (!), the same screenshots from “pure” Android, black and white pictures, an unpresentable font, which is simply incredible for the instructions for a real device from Samsung, which has numbers in the check in the range 17- 20 thousand rubles.

- Stylus. The "trick" of the Galaxy Note series tablets is the stylus in the kit, which the fakes did not have. It is easy to check - you only need to look at the case.

- Counterfeits cannot be recognized using original programs such as Samsung Kies 3, which is completely unsurprising. Unfortunately, in the field, it will be problematic to check in this way.

- Diagonal display. If there is a ruler or a good eye, deception can be recognized in this way. The diagonal of both fakes does not exceed 9 inches, instead of the prescribed 10.1 inches.

- Built-in memory. Memory can be checked in the tablet settings, but it is more reliable to connect to a computer and see how much memory is available. Instead of the promised 64 GB of internal memory, one tablet turned out to be 16 GB, the other 4 GB of memory.

Distinguish fake with manufacturer support

We contacted Samsung's support chat, but there we were "sent" to law enforcement agencies. Then we called Samsung support at 8-800-555-55-55. There we were told that when buying goods from hand, a person can turn to them and they will instruct him on how to distinguish the original tablet from the fake one by settings. We were also told that fakes differ from the originals in almost everything: from the interface to the types of SIM cards (the latter is not relevant in our case, since the fakes simply did not have a slot for SIM cards). As a rule, each major manufacturer has its own hot line support services that can be contacted for assistance in such cases.

The considered fakes, of course, are two special cases and do not claim to be general. Counterfeits can be different, improved, like fake checks, become more like real ones. In this case, the easiest way would be to recognize a fake by an incorrect cash receipt (without the full name of the product and its serial number), low display resolution, the presence of a DC power socket, improper camera placement and low photo resolution, and finally, simply because of the small size of tablets. Well, the most important advice that will allow you to avoid problems - do not buy tablets from your hands, no matter how positive and honest the "seller" may seem! Remember: free cheese only in a mousetrap.

Product-test continues to test tablets in the field. You can find the results of comparative tests of tablets in our tablet rating where everything popular models compared with each other on the most important parameters.

Note N8000. Though this model has been present on the market for more than 2 years, it continues to be sold successfully. It is its parameters and characteristics that will be considered in this review.

CPU

The heart of this tablet PC is the Exynos Model 4412 CPU. It is Samsung's own design. It consists of four revision A9 cores operating at a frequency of 1.3 GHz. It is the combination of these characteristics that allows the Note N8000 to cope with any task without any problems. Again, all the features implemented in the APM architecture successfully function in this silicon crystal. This includes disabling unused cores, and downgrading clock frequency unused module. All this can significantly save battery life. In general, an excellent combination of performance and energy efficiency, which is a hallmark of all devices built on this architecture.

Graphics subsystem

To perform graphic functions, the Mali-400 MP4 adapter is integrated into this device. Of course, at the time the tablet was released, it allowed solving all tasks without exception without any problems. But now its computing power is no longer enough for demanding applications. The screen resolution is 1280 pixels by 800 pixels. At the same time, its diagonal is 10.1 inches. This is enough for normal and comfortable work, but a certain graininess of the picture will be present. Another downside is the glossy screen. All finger touches will be imprinted on it.

A definite plus is the presence of a capacitive sensor, which is characterized by increased sensitivity. Another advantage is support for up to five touches at the same time. But now cheaper devices can boast of a similar feature. Despite the presence of certain remarks, the graphics system of the Samsung Galaxy Note N8000 is well balanced, and its capabilities will be enough for the needs of most users.

Memory

The memory subsystem is simply excellent in the Samsung Galaxy Note N8000. Feedback from satisfied owners of this gadget is another confirmation of this. It has 2 GB of RAM. Now, 2 years later, not every tablet or smartphone is equipped with this amount of RAM. Built-in memory 16 GB - this amount is enough to store several movies or a library of books. In addition, there is a slot for a microSD card up to 32 GB. You can also use an OTJ cable to connect an external regular USB flash drive up to 16 GB. In general, the memory system subsystem in this case tightens by five points out of five possible. It can also be quickly increased without problems by connecting an additional memory card or flash drive.

Frame

TO strengths cannot be attributed to the body of the Samsung Galaxy Note N8000. Reviews only confirm this. There are two options for its design - white (for a female audience) and black (more formal). Case material - plastic. Scratches easily appear on it, and it is unstable to shocks. Therefore, it is better to immediately buy a case in the kit that will protect this tablet from damage. A similar situation with the screen. It is made of ordinary plastic and is also resistant to cracking. So immediately you need to paste protective film so as not to scratch or damage it. These measures will significantly extend the operating time of this device.

Battery

A mediocre battery is installed in the Samsung Galaxy Note N8000. The Chinese version in this case is even worse. The proprietary device uses a 7000 milliamp/hour lithium-ion battery. This capacity is enough for one day of comfortable work. Although with a not very intense load, its charge can last for two days. But still not enough today. Now there are already batteries for 10,000 milliamp / hours, and this is enough for 3 days of active use. But the Chinese copy has even less - 3000 milliamp / hours, which is enough for half a day of work. So before buying it is necessary to specify the modification of the device. In addition, the rest of the technical specifications in the Chinese version are significantly worse than the original.

Soft

Samsung Galaxy Note N8000 is running operating system"Android" with outdated version 4.0.4. This is enough to launch most offers. But still, some programs (for example, the An-Tu-Tu tester) require version 4.1. Most likely, the system software of this tablet PC will no longer be updated. Therefore, owners will have to work with what is available. This nuance must be considered before buying.

Communications

The Note N8000 tablet is equipped with a rich set of communications. First of all, it is bluetooth (perfect for connecting other mobile devices), Wi-Fi (provides top speed data exchange when connected to the Internet) and a 4G modem. The last option allows this device function in any mobile networks that exist today. At the same time, the owner of the tablet is not tied to anything, but can exchange data with the global web in any corner of the globe where there is mobile connection. Also, do not forget that there is the possibility of making calls. True, it is better to talk with headphones. The tablet has a large diagonal, so it is not very convenient to use it for these purposes. Among the wired communications, there is the ability to connect via the universal serial USB interface. For navigation, transmitters for working with GPS and GLONASS systems are integrated into the gadget. This will allow you to easily determine your location. All this is enough for a comfortable filling of this device with all the necessary information and navigation around the area.

Results

In terms of technical specifications and software looks flawless Samsung Galaxy Note N8000. The price is much too high. Similar tablet personal computers other manufacturers are much cheaper. For example, Lenovo Yoga can be bought much cheaper. A device from Samsung costs $450, while a similar device from a Chinese manufacturer is estimated at $375. From this point of view, buying a device from a Korean manufacturer is not entirely justified.

Both "our" fake tablets did not have a GPS receiver. Theoretically, it is possible that there is GPS, but there is no such function in the settings, and it is not detected by any navigation programs. True, this is almost unbelievable and is tantamount to their absence for most users.

- If the seller (or documentation) claims that the tablet is equipped with a modem, then it must also have an IMEI number. If you could not find it, then ask your seller to do it for you. If a tablet equipped with an IMEI modem does not have a number, then most likely you have a fake in your hands.

— Interface. Original Samsung tablets use the proprietary TouchWiz interface. You can distinguish by eye if you have ever seen a “naked” Android and once held a real Samsung tablet in your hands.

As a rule, each major manufacturer has its own support hotline, which can be contacted for assistance in such cases.

The considered fakes, of course, are two special cases and do not claim to be general. Counterfeits can be different, improved, like fake checks, become more like real ones. In this case, it would be easiest to recognize a fake by an incorrect cash receipt (without the full name of the product and its serial number), low display resolution, the presence of a DC power socket, incorrect camera placement and low resolution photos, and finally, simply by the small size of the tablets. Well, the most important advice that will allow you to avoid problems - do not buy tablets from your hands, no matter how positive and honest the "seller" may seem! Remember: free cheese is only in a mousetrap.

Product-test continues to test tablets in the field. You can find the results of tablet comparison tests in our tablet rating, where all popular models are compared with each other in terms of the most important parameters.
