How to create a new account in Windows? How to make a disk image on windows 8.

  1. Hello! Bought a laptop installed Windows 8 and installed all the programs I need. Then created a backup Windows image 8 using a standard DVD backup tool. And now my Windows 8 does not load, either I picked up viruses, or from something else. Runs on boot automatic recovery, then a sharp reboot and so on in a circle. IN safe mode I couldn’t log in, I also can’t boot from the recovery disk, the laptop just hangs at the boot stage. Your article didn't help either. Well, I think it's time to recover from the image. I tried to boot from the created recovery DVDs, but they were not bootable. It even became funny to me, I created these disks for an extreme situation and now it arose, but they did not help. Now I regret not. Admin, maybe there is still some way to use these disks?
  2. Note: To recover using these discs, you need a second drive or portable USB DVD-ROM, or at worst a multifunctional adapter (described in detail below), but even if you have one of these devices, you may encounter problems during recovery. one interesting problem, to solve it, read our article to the end.
  3. Help advice? Created an image Windows Recovery 8 using a standard archiving tool on a portable hard drive USB drive, then he wanted to recover from it, but does not exit, Windows 8 simply does not see the created image, writes "Windows could not find the archive for this computer." How to be?
  4. Hello admin! Want create a Windows 7 backup image but I don't know what. I have a netbook, so I don't have a floppy drive, unfortunately a portable one. hard drive There is no USB either, I have not purchased it yet. I don’t want to use an additional section of the laptop’s hard drive, this is not archiving, if the hard drive fails, everything will be lost. Actually there is an old one, but working HDD IDE interface and the same IDE DVD drive, can you somehow adapt them to create a backup?
Note: There is a way out, you can connect any hard disk or SATA or IDE interface drive to a computer through a multifunctional adapter, read the article below.
  5. Friends, if you, then creating a backup image will go a little differently, read our article.

How to create a backup image of Windows 8

Hello friends, this article is about...

1. How to connect to your new computer (laptop, netbook) through a multifunctional adapter a simple hard SATA drive or an outdated IDE drive and how to use those devices to back up Windows 8.

2. How to create a backup recovery image of Windows 8 using a regular backup tool on DVDs and, if necessary, restore from it, even if your Windows 8 does not boot.

3. How to create a backup recovery image of Windows 8 and USB portable hard drive and then recover from it.

4. How create a Windows 8 recovery backup image on an additional hard disk partition (does not count as backup, since if the hard drive fails, the image will be lost along with the rest of the information).
5. And maybe you will be interested in one more of our articles "". And further recovery of Windows 8 from backup.

My friends and I very often had to create backup images of Windows 8 and Windows 7 operating systems using a standard backup and restore tool. Sometimes when restoring the system from an image, I got errors and as a result, the system could not be restored. How to avoid these mistakes, I wanted to tell you in this article.

Note: If you are interested in the question of how to create a backup image of Windows 7 and recover from it, read the separate article "". You can also create a backup image of Windows 8 with the program Acronis True Image Home, we will look at this in the next article.

1) Many users create a recovery image of Windows 8 or Windows 7 on DVDs, but few people know that these discs are not bootable and if Windows 8 (the same applies to Windows 7) does not boot, you will not recover from these discs. Only a second drive or a portable USB DVD drive will help you out, if you have nowhere to connect a second drive, you can, details later in the article.

2) Even fewer users know this fact. If you, for example, bought a laptop or a simple computer, then made a backup image of the entire hard drive of this laptop using the built-in backup tools in Windows 8. It does not matter where you placed the backup image, on DVD discs or on a portable USB hard drive, you will also not be able to recover from it in all cases if you resized the hard disk partitions while working with Windows 8 or Windows 7. For example, after creating a backup image, you divided the C: drive into two partitions

And created an additional partition E:.

When you try to restore, you will get this error. "In order to restore the state of the computer, Windows needs to format the drive from which you loaded the Windows Recovery Environment."

Even if you return all partitions of the hard disk to the state that was at the time of creating the backup image, then restoring your laptop or desktop computer will not always work either. So partition your hard drive however you want, then create a backup image of Windows 8.

3) If you created a backup image of Windows 8 or Windows 7 on some partition of the hard drive, and then transferred the recovery image to, for example, a portable USB hard drive. Then again, when recovering, operating system may not see your image.

4) Another moment. When creating a backup image of the system using the Windows 8 backup tools, the WindowsImageBackup folder is created, this folder should never be renamed or nested in another folder. For example, you will create a folder called "backup copies of Windows 8" and move the WindowsImageBackup folder there, that's it, get ready for the fact that when you restore Windows 8 will not see the backup image. 5) Sometimes you will create a backup image of Windows 8 or Windows 7 and want to run a restore from this image directly on a working system, but you will not succeed. You will open File Backup and Restore and you will see the message "Windows could not find an archive for this computer" or "Windows could not find user file archives on your computer".

In this case, try booting from installation disk or a Windows 8 or Windows 7 recovery disc, select "Recovery" and then "System Image Recovery", it is quite possible that your image will be found.

And now I propose to consider everything in detail.

Creating an image Windows systems 8 on DVDs. Then consider the recovery process Move the mouse to the left corner of the desktop, right-click and select Control Panel,

We select the Category "Small icons" and the item with the strange "Recovery Windows files 7" (this is not a bug, it's Windows 7).

Create a system image.

Note that we can create a Windows 8 backup image on a portable USB hard drive under the letter F:, or on an additional hard drive partition E:, but as our reader noted, this is not a backup, and the latter is "On DVDs".

If you have a netbook and do not have a portable USB hard drive, you can use this multifunctional adapter with IDE, SATA ports (you can easily connect a second drive, a simple hard drive and a hard drive from a laptop to it),

Then connect the adapter itself to a laptop or computer via USB interface. Such an adapter costs 600 rubles and is sold in every computer store, in my work it is simply an irreplaceable thing.
Select "On DVD". Further.

The created image always automatically includes the partition with Windows 8 and all service partitions (for example, Encrypted (EFI system partition), they cannot be excluded from the backup. If you wish, you can add a partition with your data to the backup image (in our case New Volume E:) Another note: as you can see, Windows 8 did not include all the service partitions of the laptop hard drive in the image, and nothing can be done about it.

The archive does not include the last section containing the factory reset files. But despite this, after a full recovery, it will be in its place, read the article further.

"Mark and insert blank media larger than 1 GB." Here we just take blank disk 4.7 GB DVD and write on it "Windows 8 Backup Image No. 1".

Friends, be sure to label DVDs with numbers, as when restoring, first of all, you will need the last created disk under number 4. Click Format.

The backup image is being burned to DVD.

The new laptop required four DVDs (note: if you make such an image in the laptop manufacturer's built-in program, you will need 3 DVDs).

After completing the backup, be sure to create a system recovery disk. Yes. Create disk. OK.

It will definitely come in handy for you, how to use it if necessary, is described later in the article.

How to recover from a backup image (burned to DVD discs) if your Windows 8 boots

Let's say your Windows 8 boots normally, but works with significant errors and you decide to restore it using pre-created DVD discs recovery.

We need to enter the Special Options Windows boot 8, this can be done in two ways. We insert the last DVD disc we created at number 4 into the drive. Parameters. Changes to computer settings. General. Special boot options (click the Restart now button).

Or the way is nowhere easier, when pressed Shift key, select the item Restart, the computer restarts

Then Diagnostics.

Extra options.

Select your account with administrative rights.

It is automatically suggested to use the system image on the DVD. Further.

Carefully! All our data on the partitions being recovered will be deleted. Further.

Ready.

will happen full recovery of our laptop at the time of image creation, we only have to insert the next three DVDs in turn into the drive.

How to recover from a backup image (burned to DVD discs) if your Windows 8 won't boot

Again, consider the not-so-good development, our Windows 8 won't boot at all. Why? Maybe we unsuccessfully made changes to the operating system settings, or accidentally demolished the service partition with Windows boot files, or unsuccessfully reinstalled Windows 8 on Windows 7, in short, there is nothing but errors on the black screen. In this situation, it's time to restore the laptop to a working state using the created backup image on DVDs.

For recovery, we need a second DVD-ROM. Maybe it will be a drive connected to your motherboard in the usual way, or maybe you have a portable USB drive or use a multifunctional adapter that has IDE, SATA ports (you can easily connect a second drive, a simple hard drive and a hard drive from a laptop to it), then connect the adapter itself to a laptop via USB interface.

We insert the created recovery disk or installation disk into the laptop drive Windows disk 8. And we connect any DVD drive to the multifunctional adapter, no matter what interface, SATA or IDE, then we connect the adapter via the USB interface to the laptop. More or less like this.

It turns out that an additional drive is connected to our laptop. In the drive connected to the adapter, insert the DVD disc we created at number 4. We boot a laptop or computer from this disk, select Next.

System Restore.

Diagnostics.

Extra options.

Restoring a system image.

Select an account.

Enter the administrator password.

Please, our image has been found. It is automatically suggested to use the system image on the DVD. Further.

Ready.

Attention!

Here in this place, Windows 8 will immediately ask you to Insert the next disk at number 1.

The secret is that you need to insert it into the laptop's drive already. That is, if you have not forgotten, now in the second drive connected to the laptop there is a disk with backup archive No. 4, and in the laptop drive there is a Windows 8 recovery disk, we remove this recovery disk from the laptop drive and insert a disk with backup archive No. 1, click OK and the recovery begins.

The second drive connected to the laptop through an adapter is no longer needed. Then, at the request of the system, insert the second disk.

Third disk.

Fourth disc.

Another important note!
One of my friends decided to reinstall on a new Windows laptop 8 on Windows 7 and uninstalled everything in Windows 7 Setup windows partitions 8 (including the recovery partition) and then decided to experiment with restoring a Windows 8 laptop using recovery DVDs (which I forced him to make). During the recovery, he also connected a second USB drive to the laptop and inserted DVD disc with archive No. 4 and the recovery ended at the very beginning with such an error. System image restore operation failed. An error occurred while restoring.

It turned out friends due to the fact that the hard drive of the laptop was not formatted. Convert the unallocated space to a partition and the recovery process from the backup image will succeed.

How to create a backup recovery image of Windows 8 on a USB portable hard drive and then restore from it

If you don't have a portable USB hard drive, you can use any available free SATA or IDE hard drive, connect it via the multifunctional adapter and create backup images of your system. It will look something like this.

You can also connect a simple drive to this adapter and create a backup image on DVDs.
Or you can create a backup image of Windows 8 on an additional hard drive partition.
We do everything the same as in the previous cases. Control Panel, select the Category "Small Icons" and the item with the strange "Windows 7 File Recovery"

Create a system image.

On the hard drive. Select our connected USB hard drive,

If you have a multifunctional adapter, connect a simple SATA or IDE hard drive to it, with a capacity of at least 80 GB, in my case 40 GB was enough to back up a new laptop. Further. As in the previous Windows case 8 did not include all sections of the laptop hard drive in the image. The archive does not include the last section containing the files to roll back to the factory settings. Further

In previous Windows versions it was possible to create a new user in account management, which was carried out using the control panel. Windows 8 "old", classic, control panel cannot create a new one account.

You must now use the Change Computer Settings panel to create a user account.

The panel for changing computer settings can be called up using the Metro sidebar (opened by the keyboard shortcut Win + C) - select the option there Parameters and beyond Changing computer settings.

In section Users panels Parameters there is a button Add user- it serves to add a new user. Other ways to add a user means GUI does not exist.

Click this button. Windows will immediately prompt you to create a Microsoft account. However, I recommend creating a local account, and you will always have time to log in with a Live ID (as well as create it). So choose Sign in without a Microsoft account.

The system, however, will tell you how good it is to use the remote account and again offer you a choice. Press the button.

On the next screen, you will need to fill out a simple registration form: specify the username, password and password hint.

That, in fact, is all - the account has been created.

Switching to and from a Microsoft account

If you need to switch to a Microsoft account, then in the same section Users just press the button Switch to a Microsoft account. The system will ask for a password for your local account, and then ask you to enter your e-mail and password to log in with your LiveID. If you don't have your Live ID yet, follow the link Sign up for a Microsoft account, after which you will be asked to fill out a simple form. At the end of the procedure, you just need to press the button Ready.

To switch back - to a local account - in the section Users you have to press the button Switch to a local account. Further, as usual: you will be asked to enter a password, but from a Microsoft account, and then register a local account. Yes, just register again, because when you switch to a remote account, the old (local) account is replaced by a new one (from Microsoft).

“Thank you, I have everything!”
"No, no, all the best"
"You got it with your updates!".

It was with such opinions that Microsoft managers faced in their surveys, wondering why users do not want to change to a new, more beautiful and fast Windows 8.

Needless to say, even today the "seven" is installed on the computers of almost 60% of Windows users. And yet, there are people-enthusiasts. People who are not used to using the "usual" versions. People for whom the experiment is more important than the result. Subjectively, I am for everything new, even if at first it is not familiar, and it seems not very convenient. Yes, let me tell you, it's "seems". Often it is convenient for us what we are used to. And vice versa, what is not accustomed to is uncomfortable. So that's why Windows 8 has become not very popular, probably because of its innovativeness, for which people simply were not ready.

Where to download Windows 8

You will be surprised, but this can be done without any problems on the official Microsoft website. Of course, as always, I am for the installation of licensed OS, so this article is not about cracks, keygens, etc. If you have already purchased a key for Windows 8, well, or took it somewhere 🙂 this article will be very useful to you. (Although often the process of installing a licensed and pirated OS is practically the same).

This article will talk about Windows installation 8 from scratch or reinstalling the system. If you want to upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 8, I will write about this separately. (Updates in this article we will touch only in passing).

If you installed Windows 8 simply because you have license key from this version, an update would be a good solution. Still, Windows 10 has already been thoroughly improved. If for some reason you need Windows 8, we refuse to update. By the way, the update can be done, of course, and later.

Our Windows 8 installed successfully. Congratulations! Installing any OS has its own nuances and within the framework of one article it is difficult to predict ALL possible difficulties. If such arose, do not be discouraged, and be sure to describe them in the comments below and get help.

In our Windows time 8 is installed on all modern laptops and desktop computers. However, despite such popularity, many users still do not fully understand it. Today we will talk about how to create an account in Windows 8. It is quite simple to do this. But. Before proceeding to the question posed, it is worth talking a little about what accounts are in the eight.

Types of accounts in the eight

In total, in Windows 8 there are only two types of users, which, in turn, are divided into several subtypes:

  1. Local.
  2. Global.

I think the name makes it clear what the difference is between them. But, nevertheless, let's clarify in a nutshell. A local account is your personal account that is not linked to email or any other social networks. It should be understood that in this account you will not have some functions. For example, the Windows store only works in a global account. However, you will still have access to the Internet. In fact, this is the most common account, the same as in the seven.

The second type, unlike the first, appeared already in Windows 8. That is, before there was simply no such concept and you didn’t have to link your computer to a Microsoft account. However, in the age of progress and technology, everything has changed. So now people may experience some difficulties. In essence, the global accounting Windows entry 8 is the same account, but with the only difference that it is linked to account Microsoft.

In simple words, you will have to link your mail and register on the Microsoft.com website. This in turn will allow you to access new features such as the Windows Store and other global services. If you don't have a Microsoft account yet, you can sign up.

So, the above users are divided into several subtypes:

  1. Administrator is an account for advanced users, in which almost all actions are allowed and there is access to almost all system files and folders. It is worth noting that this account is created automatically when installing the OS, but remains inactive. To enable it, you will need to perform some settings (read how to do this in this one).
  2. A guest is a guest account in which users have the opportunity to use a computer and the Internet. But at the same time, it is not possible to change system settings, delete files and folders, and also use some functions, such as remote desktop, and so on.
  3. A child account is a unique feature of Windows 8. Parents can set unique parameters - limit computer time, set a filter on sites, allow or block certain programs, and so on. That is, by saying in simple words, you can fully control the operation of the computer.
  4. Regular access. This is the most common account in which you have access to basic functions, as well as to some system parameters. However, users will not be able to delete system files and folders.

Which account to create depends only on you and your needs. Understood the type. Now let's look at how to add a user to Windows 8 on an already installed operating system.

Rules for adding a user record

So, I won't bore you and get straight to the point. First, we need to decide on the type of account to be created (local or global). It is also worth noting that this can be done in two ways:

  • Through the system settings.
  • Through the management console.

Both methods are quite simple and do not require much time and effort from you.

Computer settings

This option is even easier than the first one:

  1. Move the mouse cursor to the top right corner of the desktop. A pop-up menu will open. Here, click on the Options icon.
  2. Next, select "Change PC settings".
  3. After that, go to the "Accounts" "Other Accounts" section. There is an item "Add an account". Choose this item.
  4. In the next step, you have the option to choose the type of account you want to create (global or local). Here we create a local user. To do this, below, find the inscription "Login without Microsoft records(Not recommended)".
  5. Click on this label. Next, you will have three options for further action: Microsoft account, local user, cancel. This means that at this stage you can still select the user type. Choose the appropriate option (in my case the second one).
  6. The next step is to enter your account name and login password. After that, click "Next". That's it, the system has created a user, and you can use it.
  7. If you are required to create a global account, then we return to step 4. But, this time we click on the inscription “Register a new address Email».
  8. After that, a window will open in which you will need to fill in all the items: last name, first name, email address, password, password confirmation, country or region.
  9. After filling in all the lines, click the "Next" button and follow the instructions on the screen. Now you know how to add an account in Windows 8.

As you can see, everything is very simple. The system itself (figure eight) is very convenient and intuitive.

A Microsoft account is used to sign in to services such as Outlook.com (mail), SkyDrive (cloud file storage) , Windows phone(phone operating system), Xbox LIVE (game console), Windows 8.1 (computer/laptop/tablet operating system). If you use your email address and password to sign in to these and other services, you already have a Microsoft account, but you can sign up for a new one at any time.

What are the benefits of using a Microsoft account:

Synchronization of personal settings - themes, language settings, browser favorites, and data from most applications - across all computers under Windows control 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1.

Possibility purchase apps from the Windows Store and use them on computers running Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1.

Automatically update contact information and status of friends from Outlook.com, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and similar services.

Access and share photos, documents, and other files from places like skydrive , Facebook and Flickr.

In order to create an account on the desktop Windows desktop 8.1 Move the mouse cursor to the top right corner or click keyboard shortcut + and select "Parameters".

Click " Changing computer settings".

In the window that opens, you will understand under which account you logged into the computer: under a local account or a Microsoft account.

Local account:

Microsoft account:

To sign in with a Microsoft account or create one, click " Connect to a Microsoft account".

in field E-mail address enter a unique name and select a domain: outlook.com, hotmail.com or live.ru. You can also use existing mail, for this click " Or use an existing email address" and enter your email address.

Enter your first and last name below and click " Further".

In the next window, you must enter your date of birth and choose two of the three ways to recover your password. For recovery, you can use either a cellular telephone number, or specify a different email address or select the answer to the question. IN this example I provided the second email address and the answer to the question.

After that, enter the characters in the field and click " Further".

Choose how you want to receive a code to confirm your account creation. In my case, there is one option - the previously specified email.

An email with a code will be sent to the specified email address for password recovery, you must enter it in the field.
