Hardware and software setup

I want to learn how to repair electronics and home appliances. How to learn to repair cell phones yourself

Greetings friends!

Computers and other smart devices have firmly entered our lives.

We can't imagine how we managed without them before!

But a computer can pretty much spoil the user's life if it breaks.

The good news is that you can learn how to repair computers just like any other craft.

It would be a wish!

But the computer is a complex thing, so the repairman must have knowledge in several areas.

Where to start?

What does a computer repairman need to know?

Computer repair technician must be an advanced user personal computer(PC).

This means that the repairman must know in general terms how the operating system(OS) computer, office programs (text editors, Email, browsers, image viewers, etc.), be able to use the Internet.

Most often they do not work with Windows OS of various modifications, MS Office office suite, Chrome browsers, Opera, Yandex browser. An advanced user, unlike a teapot, can choose the source of loading the OS or service programs ( HDD, flash drive, DVD drive etc.), see what hardware (processor, memory, video card, etc.) find on the Internet material of interest to him, including computer repair.

Without this minimum, nowhere. But today it is taught even in high school! If you want to become a repairman, but skipped computer science classes at school, you can take advanced user courses.

What parts does a computer consist of?

But being only an advanced user is not enough!

A computer repairer must know what parts a computer consists of, how they are arranged, how they interact with each other. The best way to get started with computer hardware on the desktop computer and not on a laptop or tablet.

The desktop computer contains a separate system unit, monitor, mouse and keyboard.

Such a system unit can be easily opened and disassembled using a curly (phillips) screwdriver.

Disassembling a laptop or tablet is much more difficult, and you will also need a special tool.

The system unit contains a processor and memory, a video card (separate or integrated), network adapter for communication with outside world(separate or integrated into the motherboard), DVD or Blue-ray drive (optional), (electromechanical or solid state - SSD).

Familiarize yourself with your computer and its constituent parts You can on this site in the heading.

I note that I do not needlessly use complex terms (which are so intimidating for beginners) and talk about complex things in simple human language.

To repair computers, the amount of knowledge must be large enough and it must be accumulated gradually. Being an advanced PC user and knowing how the components of a computer are arranged, you can go further.

What are the problems with computers?

There can be a lot of malfunctions in a computer. But they can be divided into two types: hardware failures, hardware failures, and software(software).

The hardware part is the very components of the computer that we have already mentioned.

Software is not only an operating system and office programs, but also drivers for various internal and external devices.

A driver is a separate program for interacting with some part of a computer or peripheral device(printer, scanner, etc.) built into the OS.

Without a driver, any piece of iron - just a collection of metal, plastic and electronic parts.

Now you understand why you need to be an advanced user and know how the computer hardware is arranged and how it works? In order to find out where to dig in the event of a malfunction - in the direction of hardware or software.

The failure is usually accompanied characteristic features. For example, the computer "slows down", does not boot up, does not work, or. Analysis of these signs, knowledge of the operation of the OS and hardware of the computer will help to form a troubleshooting algorithm.

For example, if it is impossible to print from a computer on a printer, but the print test of the printer itself is successful, then you should not immediately reinstall the OS, but check the interface cable and printer driver first.

Various recipes for troubleshooting can be found in the rubric on this site.

Block and component computer repair

After you have accumulated a certain amount of knowledge, you can begin to practice. Any knowledge without practice is dead and useless!

Novice repairers usually start with block repair. If a hardware malfunction is detected (motherboard, memory module, power supply, video card), it is replaced with a similar one.

The difficulty here is that this may require reinstalling drivers or even the OS. In addition, in the event of a malfunction hard drive you can lose all your data, which is extremely annoying. To identify a hardware malfunction, you must perform the appropriate tests - tests of memory, hard disk, and so on. Many modern computers(and especially laptops) already contains such tests.

Therefore, a novice repairman should study at least a specific user manual (User Manual).

There is also the so-called (repair and maintenance manuals), which contain more detailed information and troubleshooting methods.

Note that when buying a User Manual, the buyer may not be provided.

Service Manuals are most often found on English language, therefore, knowledge of technical English is an extra plus for the repairman. At the same time, there are many online translators, which undoubtedly makes life easier for beginners.

But aerobatics is component repair!

That is, replacing not the entire component of the computer, but some parts on it, for example, or capacitors on the motherboard or in the power supply. What does it give? With the necessary qualifications, repairs can be much cheaper, since a transistor or capacitor costs much less than motherboard or power supply.

But to get to this level, you need to know much more than all of the above! You need to know electronics at a good level, be able to use measuring instruments. This is also discussed on this site, in particular, in the heading.

If you have a desire - get acquainted, study. It's free!

Why study computer repair?

The number of computers and other smart technology will only increase, so there will always be a need for specialists to repair them. These types of services are in high demand right now. So workplace you are guaranteed!

Computer repair can be learned like any other craft. This site will help you with this. In conclusion, let us recall the good old truth - "education is a way to help overcome the vicissitudes of fate."

So, let's sum up. To learn how to repair computers, you first need to become an advanced PC user. Then get acquainted with how it works and how it works computer hardware. After that, you can start practicing. To master component repair, you need to study electronics, learn how to use measuring instruments and other auxiliary equipment.

The amount of knowledge that needs to be acquired is quite large. But it's like any other profession! Choose the profession of a repairman, go any other - it's up to you. If you want to become a computer repairman - good luck!

And my site is here to help you!

Do you want to learn how to repair a car yourself? Can you imagine how cool it would be to fix the problem yourself? But at the same time, you are not confident in your abilities, do you think that you are not able to learn the science of auto mechanics? Cast aside doubts, if you really want to learn how to repair a car, you can do it!

You need to start step by step. Of course, you don’t need to immediately try to remove the gearbox or the gearbox from the car and try to fix them, this will not lead to anything good. It's like being taught in middle school instead of the elementary mathematics of the Laplace transform. It is illogical, unreasonable, you simply will not understand anything and waste many hours in vain.

If you really want to learn, start with the elementary.

To get started you will need:

Patience and perseverance. Study the material with which you will have to work. Step by step, every step, one by one.

Buy tools. Not necessarily expensive professional kits, enough tools entry level(not outright junk, of course, but decent cheap tools). Maybe you end up not enjoying climbing in the oily innards of your iron friend. In that case, why pay more?

Last but not least, where do you start? We invite you to familiarize yourself with five interesting and at the same time easy repair options that will teach you the basics of working with a car, in case of incorrect actions, will not cause serious damage to the car and will certainly bring moral satisfaction from the fact that you were able to do it yourself.

If you get involved in the process and with constant practice (for example, you do not have a new car that requires constant repairs), then in a couple of years you will know the device of your car quite well, realize which bolt is responsible for what, which locknut performs what function and What parts do certain systems consist of?

And it can all start with five simple repairs.

Replacing spark plugs

The advice does not apply to owners, because it is more difficult to change spark plugs on their boxer engines than on other cars to replace a worn clutch disc. Boxer engines are capricious in this regard. It is necessary to do a lot of difficult and, in a sense, jewelry work in order to unscrew all the candles, and most importantly, put new ones in correctly. Such are the costs of the construction of "boxers". In our case, it is better to turn to professionals who, with the help of a special tool and accumulated experience, will change your old parts for new ones.

But if you're not driving a Subaru, then it's time to act! Get to work:

ratchet wrench

Extension

Candle socket (3/8 inch dodecagonal)

1. Turn out the candles.

Carefully disconnect the wires from the spark plugs. Take a socket wrench with an extension cord and a ratchet, slowly start unscrewing the candles counterclockwise.

2. Do not mix up the wires

If you have, mark each wire so that you do not confuse the order in which they are connected to the candles. Or change the candles one by one: unscrew, put in a new one, connect the terminal.

3. Installing a new spark plug

It is very important to choose the necessary, suitable for a particular make, year of manufacture and model of the car. Refer to the owner's manual or a brochure from an auto parts store.

In order not to make a mistake, you need to take exactly those models of candles that are already on your car.

Using the spark plug head, tighten the spark plug 1/8 turn, not too hard, or use a torque wrench after finding the data on the tightening force of the spark plugs. Tightening can lead to the destruction of the threads in the engine, and this is very bad.

Air filter change

Changing the air filter is one of the easiest jobs on the list. It is easy, quick and cheap to replace on almost any car, partly because the filters have to be changed frequently, once every 10-15 thousand km on cars, access to it has been made the most convenient.

On most machines, you won't need any tools at all to access the air filter. Just unfasten a few latches, remove the top cover of the air filter box (first check the technical documentation, the manual, so as not to make a mistake where the filter box is located), and now you have access to it.

On some modern cars, the filter box is screwed on instead of snapped on. So take a screwdriver, unscrew the screws, and you can easily carry out the replacement procedure.

It is physically very difficult to confuse the location of the filter element in the box. But just in case, read the manual for your car, about how the filter should stand correctly. After reading, act.

Engine oil change

When you imagine someone servicing a car, the picture of an oil change is sure to pop up in front of your eyes. This is the most classic of items Maintenance, and it is also one of the most important.

An oil change occurs at maintenance once every 12 months or upon reaching a certain mileage recommended in the operation manual (10-15 thousand km), whichever comes first.

It is preferable to change the engine oil in a "pit" or in a garage equipped with a lift. *

* Take precautions, always put the muffled car at speed or on the handbrake!

To replace you will need:

Wrench socket for your car's drain plug

Ratchet wrench

Filter puller (sold at an auto parts store)

The container where you will drain the used oil (of course, the container should be larger than the capacity of your engine)

And of course, the replacement will require the oil filter itself.

It's important to know:

Before changing the oil, it is worth a little ride on the car. Thus, the entire suspension of foreign particles will be in the oil volume, and when it is drained, the motor will be better cleaned.

1. Unscrew the oil filler cap. It is located at the top of the engine.

2. We climb under the car and unscrew the drain plug with a wrench, having previously placed the prepared container. *

*Precautionary measures. Avoid getting engine oil on you. After the engine is running, it is hot, do not burn yourself. Use thick rubber gloves when unscrewing the cork.

3. Draining the oil is not a quick process, so while it drains from the engine, you have time to remove the oil filter. Usually no tool is required for this. We find the filter, and unscrew it manually. There are times when he does not leave his seats. Then we will use a puller previously purchased from the store.

Many modern engines have paper oil filters that can be easily accessed with a socket wrench. Just unscrew the cap and your oil filter is in full view.

Apply some used engine oil to the O-ring of the new filter and install it. Carefully read the instructions on the filter for its installation.

4. Oil glass. Screw in the drain plug. It is not worth pulling it very hard, there is a risk of breaking the thread. Screw it in, tighten it up a little.

Pour new engine oil into the upper neck through a funnel. We fill in such an amount of oil that its level on the dipstick is between the “Min” and “Max” marks, a little closer to the second mark. Close the lid, start the engine.

Necessarily! After the first ride, check the oil level. It is ideal to watch it on a hot engine 10 minutes after the engine has stopped.

Replacing an incandescent lamp

How many people do you need to? This joke has a lot of truth in it. The simplest job can turn into a serious headache. On some cars, to change one light bulb, you literally need to disassemble half the front of the car.

In other cases, replacing a light bulb is not troublesome:

IMPORTANT! It is necessary to choose the correct model of the light bulb. To do this, remove the burnt out light bulb, carry it to the store and use it to get a new one.

Changing brake pads

Replacing the brake pads on a car is a little more risky than changing a light bulb. That's why HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for the first time, replace the pads with a knowledgeable person who, in which case, can correct the error.

Before replacing pads, watch a few of the following videos explaining the principles of replacing pads of various calipers:

Thanks for attention!

Many people often ask how to learn how to repair cars. Don't worry, friends, I have the answer to your secret question.

The fact is that if you decide to become an avid car mechanic, then you will often face a difficult choice, for example “hmm, should I go shower now and change into clean clothes? I still get oiled up though.". Or, for example, you get out of the workshop, all torn and dirty, and go to the store for spare parts. You meet your acquaintances along the way, who then call your wife back and ask why she kicked you out into the street and doomed you to homelessness. But these are all trifles.

If you are ready to start this lifestyle, then sit back and prepare to listen.

1. Buy yourself a wreck

Want a crash course in car repair? Buy yourself. The best way learning to repair cars is to study their structure. Especially if you are young and you do not have extra money to repair your car. Perfect option.

Many excellent masters did not even know how to change oil or candles until the age of twenty. But then they bought a car that was older than themselves, and began to touch it, thus learning the art.

Ask advice from friends, father, grandfather. Learn the basics. Change oil, spark plugs, air filters, look through the technical documentation and everything will go like clockwork. A rusty bucket will help you fall in love with cars and understand how to take care of them.

2. Buy a tool kit

You can’t unscrew the nuts with your hands, especially if they have been rusty for ten years already. Go to the store and spend money on good set tools.

I advise you to start with a screwdriver and a rich set of interchangeable bits. If you have absolutely no money, then you can go to FixPrice and see something there, but do not count on the long service life of such tools. I recommend immediately investing 3-4 thousand and buying a good, branded kit.

3. Watch videos on YouTube

Even if you do not have a wreck, you can always get a certain set of knowledge from the tutorial videos.

It is difficult to count how many videos I watched in search of answers to my questions about car repair. In fact, their range is simply huge.

However, I advise you to be picky and look at the reviews and the number of views, since YouTube is open to everyone. So if you see the guy in the video cutting the clutch cable or breaking the brakes, then turn on your brain for a second and realize what is happening.

4. Buy a repair manual

A very useful thing. Step-by-step instructions for repairing your car will help you deal with any problem. They are not expensive, and if you are ready to read from the screen, you can even download one for free on the Internet. These books will save you a lot of time and effort.

5. Register on the forum

Most useful information can be found on the forums. Dozens of knowledgeable guys share their experience, photos and step by step instructions. In addition, they will tell you how to do this or that job, while losing as few fingers as possible. Useful thing!

6. Help friends

A friend's car got stuck? Please help him. You will gain invaluable experience and prove yourself. In addition, if something breaks in you sometime, your friend will come to your aid more willingly.

7. Talk to sellers

Parts markets often have hardened auto mechanics who can give you any advice. Do not underestimate their talents.

If you have a fuel pump, go to the market and chat with the seller. He will tell you how to replace it, what parts you need and maybe give you a small discount.

But do not rush to every seller. First make sure that he is well versed in his business, and then start a conversation. As a rule, a good auto repairman can be seen at a glance (see point 1).

8. Sign up for mechanic courses

It is not necessary to go to school and get an education, because today more and more private courses are being opened. Go to a couple of lessons and you will learn a lot of new and useful things about the automotive world.

9. Read books

Buy or download some books on mechanics and electronics. After reading them, you will become much clearer how your car works. Once you figure this out, repairs will no longer be a problem for you.

10. Read Auto Blogs

For example, CARakoom.com. Every day we post a lot of interesting material dedicated to the world of cars. In addition, our regular sections on the structure of various parts of a car, for example, or, will help you easily understand the basics of the structure of cars. We try to use the most understandable analogies, with the help of which we explain complex automotive concepts. We also have a lot of knowledge in which you can get a lot of knowledge and ask questions to knowledgeable people. Join us and you too will become crazy about cars!

Quantity electronic appliances is growing at an unprecedented rate every year.

So, the production of electronics in St. Petersburg can only please. However, no matter how high its quality, it can still break. Sometimes a breakdown can be fixed on your own, so you do not need to take the equipment to a service center unnecessarily.

Where to begin

Troubleshooting electronic devices is a delicate thing, and to learn how to do it yourself, you need some knowledge of physics, a minimum of a school course.

You should at least have an idea of what:

  • current strength;
  • resistance of metals;
  • inductance, etc.

You also need to gain experience in soldering radio components, and learn how to use an electrical tester and a multimeter. For repairs, you will need to purchase all the necessary equipment, and also, depending on the type of equipment being repaired, you will need to understand electrical circuits.

A lot of people think that fixing a PC is a workshop job. But even beginners can repair a computer at home without special skills with a minimum of equipment. On your own, with a soldering iron, you can replace the capacitors. But if you need to replace microcircuits, if you do not have experience and equipment, it is not advisable to repair such a breakdown yourself.

If the electronics do not turn on

When connected to electrical network the device does not work, no LED signals work or sound is not produced, the reason for this is a burnt power supply. Try turning on the machine in series with powerful lamp incandescence, to prevent short circuit. When the power supply is working, the lamp will not light, and in the event of a short circuit on the block, the lamp will light up.

Then we look for a malfunction in the power supply itself. It could be a simple cable break or a blown fuse. If successful, we fix the problem by replacing new parts or soldering broken ones.

Incorrect work

If your electronics are intermittent, periodically giving out a problem, there are many reasons for such work. For example, when the computer turns off during loads, and after some time it works again, the malfunction may lie in overheating or damage to the contacts.

In this article series, you'll learn:

  • What knowledge and skills are needed to carry out the repair?
  • How much does the repair cost?
  • How much do craftsmen earn?
  • Where to learn how to do repairs and decoration in Moscow?

Sooner or later, everyone faces the need for repair. The need to live in a neat, functional and comfortable space is inherent in people with any level of income. An entire industry is built on this need, including the services of designers, planners and specialists in the repair and decoration of premises.

The benefits of self-repair

If you need repairs, there are several ways: contact a repair and finishing company, hire a private master, or do it yourself. It would seem that in the first two cases, your task comes down to setting goals and monitoring the work performed. However, there are some pitfalls here. It is extremely difficult to find competent and reliable contractors even with a decent budget - the market is still filled with unscrupulous craftsmen who can disappear after making an advance payment.

In order for the work to be completed on time and in compliance with all requirements, you will have to spend a lot of time and delve into all the details. Extra numbers may appear in the estimate, and it is almost impossible to get a guarantee that all purchased materials were used for their intended purpose. Knowledge of the market, understanding of pricing and the right finishing technologies will be your advantage.

If you do the repairs yourself, you will have to approach the matter even more responsibly, but the invested efforts will pay off. Professional training in the field of finishing works does not require a lot of time and money, but it will help you choose the right materials, avoid mistakes and unnecessary costs, and as a result save a lot of money. In addition, you will have truly in-demand skills that can become a profession and bring good income!

The first step: the theoretical foundations of repair

First, decide on the budget and scope of work. Highly specialized tasks, for example, installation of internal communications, wiring design and cable laying, are still recommended to be left to specialists. In order to correctly set tasks, before starting work, it is desirable to determine the functional purpose of each room, the number and location of light sources, switches and sockets.

To study the market for materials and tools, set aside a few days to visit construction sites and hypermarkets and compare prices. Then conduct a study of professional forums for the advantages and disadvantages of certain materials. You can also gain this knowledge by enrolling in finishing courses.

The minimum amount of knowledge for planning and organizing finishing work includes:

  • Fundamentals of design and zoning of premises;
  • Knowledge of the market of finishing materials: primers and moisture-proofing compounds, dry mixes for putty and plaster, paintwork materials, adhesive bases, various types finishing;
  • The choice of facing materials and their characteristics: drywall, floor and wall tiles;
  • Ability to read and draw up blueprints and floor plans;
  • Knowledge of the classification and purpose of finishing, measuring, laser and electromechanical tools;
  • Knowledge of the basics of rationing and consumption of materials per square meter of area;
  • Knowledge of safety and fire prevention measures.

Step two: what practical skills are needed for repairs

To get an initial idea about the stages of work, you can contact several repair companies for an estimate. This service costs a symbolic amount or is completely free, but you will get the opinion of professionals, find places that you have not taken into account, and compare the estimates of different companies (they may differ by an order of magnitude).

Let's assume that you still decide to make repairs on your own. To do this, you will need the following skills:

  • Dismantling and preparatory work: cleaning the walls from the remnants of the previous finish, processing with moisture-proofing compounds, thermal insulation, applying a primer and markings;
  • Rough finishing: leveling walls and floors, sealing cracks and joints, puttying surfaces;
  • Fine finishing depending on the chosen materials: work with dry plaster mixtures, painting and varnishing, wallpapering, tiling or frame-cladding works (drywall).

How much does repair cost in Moscow?

For those who vacillate between in-house repairs and outsourcing, we provide an overview of repair prices.
