mi smartphone user manual. Turning on the Xiaomi Mi Band fitness bracelet and setting up Mi Fit

Hello. Today I want to present you my review of the popular and reviewed bracelet from Xiaomi. I understand that I won’t tell a lot of new things, but nevertheless, I hope that the review will help people decide whether they need it or not. The bracelet itself was introduced last year, and went on sale sometime in September. Xiaomi is already a fairly well-known brand of various technology that produces: smartphones, tablets, headphones, chargers, fans, lamps, soon even cars, and it can definitely be compared with LG, Samsung, Sony, Huawei and other top league brands. But it's not about that. What is this bracelet? A lot of things. From a smart alarm clock to just an accessory. More details further… (many photos!)

Specifications and some main features:
- Pedometer;
- Sleep tracker;
- Smart alarm;
- Notification of incoming calls;
- Calorie counter;
- Work in standby mode up to 30 days;
- Unlocking the smartphone (for owners of devices with MIUIv6 firmware and not only);
- Size: 36x9x14 mm;
- Weight: 5 grams
- Material: plastic, rubber, aluminum;
- Moisture protection: IP67;
- Battery: 41mAh;
- Bluetooth chipset: Dialog BT4LE;
- Connection: Bluetooth 4.0 LE;
- Strap: detachable, several colors available to choose from;
- Compatibility: devices on Android based 4.4;
- Indication: 3 single-color LED-indicators, vibration signal;

Traditionally, for many Xiaomi products, the bracelet comes in a small box made of unpainted thick cardboard, this is a kind of business card for the products of this company.

On the back of the box you can find brief characteristics in Chinese:

Inside you can find: a bracelet, a USB cable-cradle for charging the bracelet from the charger (which is not included) and instructions in Chinese. Although I still can't figure out why the instructions are only in Chinese. The company, after all, is trying to get into the international market. All packaging is designed in a minimalist style.

The bracelet consists of two parts: the module itself and the strap. Straps, in turn, come in different colors (black, yellow, light green and others). I chose the most common - black. Other colors are more individual, and they are suitable for more summer weather. Interestingly, there are very few non-original straps of other colors on sale, which is a pity, because the declared colors may not please everyone (by the way ... not even white!).

The instruction, as I already wrote, is only in Chinese. I decided not to trifle, and to photograph it completely, you can find the necessary information without knowing Chinese:

Instructions for the bracelet

Charging is a short wire with an unusual holder for the capsule itself. Since the battery capacity of the capsule is simply ridiculous (41mAh), it is not recommended to charge the charger of other devices. Need to charge from USB port and a laptop, since the current will be less. I didn’t record the charging time from 0 to 100%, because in a simple way I didn’t land it to such an extent. But in general - it charges very quickly.

During charging, the capsule can show the charge level with its three diodes, in which case they glow green. The designations are:
1 diode flashes - charge up to 33%,
1 diode shines - charge 33%
2 diode flashes - charge from 33% to 66%
2 diode shines - charge 66%
3 diode flashes - charge from 66% to 99%
3 diode shines - 100% charge

The installed capsule in the wire looks like this:

Let's move on to the strap. He, as you may have guessed and read earlier - rubber. Very elastic, soft, pleasant to the touch. Doesn't stink, doesn't break. In a word - excellent. The bracelet is fastened with a button. The button is made according to the design of the capsule itself, it looks decent. Since the holes for this button are slightly smaller than the button itself, it is difficult to fasten the bracelet, and for the first or tenth time it is generally very inconvenient. But over time, the holes are developed and the button is fastened as needed (without a hint of arbitrary falling out).

On the back of the bracelet there is an inscription Designed by Xiaomi.

There are many holes for fastening, and therefore this strap is perfect for almost any hand. For a brush from 14 to 20-22 cm, problems should not arise. If you fasten on the last division, nothing extra will stick out of the bracelet, and this is a really great solution, since on most watch straps the last / penultimate division looks very aesthetically pleasing. For comparison, a buttoned bracelet on the penultimate minimum division:

And on the penultimate maximum division:

Finishing the topic of the strap, I will show how it looks without the capsule itself:

It's time to finish the inspection. There isn't much left.
The capsule is simply miniature in size, I didn’t measure it exactly (just not why), but they are about 4 by 2 centimeters. Top part aluminum, has beautiful edges, bevels, and on the very top there are three inconspicuous diodes, which are located exactly in the center.

The back side is plastic, has the MI logo:

There are two charging contacts on the left side of the capsule (it is on this side, with these contacts, that you need to install the capsule in the charging cradle). Well, in the photo it looks more like some kind of caterpillar:

I will finish appearance feedback on wearing comfort. There is not much to say here, since the bracelet fits perfectly under any hand and does not cause any allergies. Since I wear a watch on my left hand, I often wear a bracelet on my right hand and this does not cause any inconvenience. And yes - sleeping with a bracelet on your arm is also not difficult, and since it weighs only 5 grams, sometimes I don’t even notice it and forget it.

To work with the bracelet, the MI Fit program (formerly MI Band) is used, which I personally downloaded on the w3bsit3-dns.com forum. There is both the original English and translated into Russian version. IN Google Play the program is free, if that. I can’t say anything about iOS, since I don’t have Apple devices. For the program to work properly, you need a smartphone with Bluetooth version 4.0 or more, Android, in turn, must be no older than 4.3, which of course is depressing, since a sufficient number work on 4.0 or even lower.

When installing the program, you need to allow the program to use quite a large number of your personal data, but during the entire existence of the bracelet there were no complaints that the data was being sent somewhere, etc., so there is nothing to worry about. After installing the program and entering it, it will ask you to agree to the terms of use. Then we are greeted by the initial (so far) screen, where we are asked to enter or register.

I already have Xiaomi account, but this did not save me, because if you click on "Login", it will take you to a page where everything is in Chinese and, accordingly, where and what to write will be very difficult to understand. As a result, with little effort, I logged into my account through a computer, after which I somehow determined what and where to enter (I don’t even remember how it was). If you click on “Register”, then everything should be in English, although I can’t know for sure, and I don’t know what you will have. To make it a little easier for you to understand, I somehow managed to get the login screen in English. The first entry is of course confusing, I think that Xiaomi could have added not only English, but also Russian for a long time. Well, okay, you still need to do it only once.

After you log in/register, you will again be asked for permission to use your information and your name.

This will be followed by a series of questions about your gender, weight, height, age, and, quite unusually, they will ask you to set a given goal for the distance traveled for the day. The minimum possible point is 2000 steps (not meters, by the way, but only steps).

After that, you will finally get to the main working screen of this program. But
that’s not all yet, since you still need to tie the bracelet itself to your smartphone. To do this, go to the program settings (top right), click settings and then select the "pairing" item. It takes no more than a minute, for this you need to turn on Bluetooth and hold the bracelet near your smartphone.

After this procedure, the program asked me to update the bracelet, apparently it came out new firmware(yes, even bracelets have firmware), it was updated no more than a minute.

Well, that's all. We installed, logged in and connected. Now let's deal with the basic settings of the program. As I wrote above, in order to enter them, you need to click on the button on the main screen of the program, which is at the top right. A quick menu will open, and the most interesting item in it is Settings (and Alarm clock, of course). In the settings, you can immediately see that the charge of the bracelet is shown, which I had 27%, it also says that the bracelet was charged 47 days ago. Of course, I don’t know by whom and why, but he charged up to me (maybe at the factory). There are not many settings themselves, I would even say that it is not enough.

I'll take a few. There is such an item as “Indicator color”, I thought that in this item you can set the color of the indicator itself (for example, if someone is calling), but this is a little different. It's just a color choice to indicate the progress of the path traveled. There is also a choice of where to wear the bracelet. I really liked the option "On the neck" ... who, and most importantly, how will this bracelet be worn around the neck? It's funny, of course. You can also set up notifications: you need to go to the smartphone settings, go to the application manager, find MI Fit and allow the program to display notifications. Then go back to the program settings and to the item. Everything is set up simply, you just need to check the desired (necessary) applications and set the duration / number (up to 10) of vibration and blinking (also up to 10), but the color of blinks, although you can choose, but not change (later it shines the same the same blue as incoming call). Yes, I almost forgot. You can also set up a notification on the bracelet and an incoming call, which occurs with a minimum delay of three seconds. For example, if you receive a call and the smartphone is far away/not heard, then the bracelet will vibrate 5 times and blink blue 5 times three seconds after the incoming call starts. Neither the color nor the number of vibrations can be changed, which is very strange, and this is really not enough. In general, these are almost all settings.

In the same first settings menu, there is a “Fitness” item, where you can turn on something like a reader for training. There is a jump rope and a press.

Well, we can not forget about the Alarm Clock. This is very interesting feature this bracelet. You can again set only 3 alarms (why is it limited again?), At different times. The settings are not very different. You can also write about the smart alarm clock function, after turning on this function, the bracelet will have to wake you up about half an hour before the set time, immediately after the phase of the last “deep sleep”. In general, the function is useless. And the rest of the alarm settings can be seen below in the first two screenshots. The third screenshot is something like a tracker, for which you must always turn on GPS, i.e. the meaning of this thing is not clear, because it is better to put a separate application for this.

Finally, about the settings, it is possible to view information about the bracelet: firmware, program version, creators, etc.

So. We figured out the functionality and settings, it remains only to demonstrate the operation of the device. I still have not written that there are two main desktops - the first Day, the second Night. Both tables have a second screen - statistics (top left). In the case of the "Day" on the first screen, you can see the time of activity (for example, from 8:00 you went somewhere, at 9:00 you came and stopped / sat down, so it will be recorded in the detailed statistics: 8:00-9:00 walk 4570 steps 3.8km), so after a long day it will be interesting to look at these statistics. On the second screen, you can look at the total number of steps, distance and calories burned (but this is pure mathematics, I'm sure it's some percentage of the number of steps and the distance traveled / time). In the case of "Night" on the first screen there is a total sleep time, the time of the beginning and end of sleep, the time in the deep sleep phase. On the second screen, the statistics are similar, but show a little different, namely, the phases of deep sleep. No idea how it works, how he reads these indicators. And yes, so that the information in the program is updated after entering it, synchronization takes place, usually up to 30 seconds (sometimes a little longer). In the screenshot below, you can see the second screens of two tables the next day after receiving (already 24% charge).

Summing up, we can highlight the following:

The bracelet is very comfortable
+ Quality made
+ Good price compared to analogues
+ Presence of vibration
+ The presence of an alarm clock
+ Long battery life

Almost nowhere you can adjust the number of vibrations
- Almost nowhere you can adjust the number of blinks
- Almost nowhere you can adjust the color of blinking
- Little functionality
- Initially English + Chinese interface (and if the first one can be fixed, then the second one, during registration, is not)

As you can see, the main problem of this device is functionality. It is really weak, although all this could be solved at the program level, I don’t understand what the problem is. Therefore, now the bracelet is fully consistent with its price, and is inferior to more expensive analogues. While I can't help recommending this bracelet, it does have features that are really worth it (not to mention the notification of an incoming call).

The bracelet is provided specifically for review.

Thank you all for your attention and good luck to everyone.

P.S. I have had the bracelet for more than a week, there are more detailed statistics (in the screenshots above there are only two days), which I can also throw here at your request. If you missed something - ask.

Detailed overview Xiaomi bracelet Mi Band 2 from the CAFAGO website, in which I will show how to set up call notifications with the name of the caller in Cyrillic on IOS-based phones, run through the Mi Fit application and compare the readings of the bracelet's heart rate monitor with a chest heart rate sensor.

Hello. Finally, this long-awaited package arrived to me, which contains the Xiaomi Mi Band 2 fitness bracelet.

The bracelet was bought on sale on the CAFAGO website for only 16 bucks

The site is not well known

but accepts payment via Paypal, so in which case there will be no problems

Also in the payment from Paypal appears the name of another store - TOMTOP, which is much more eminent. So basically CAFAGO is his daughter. Here is such a strange Chinese marketing.
The bracelet was sent by mail from Laos, without a track number (although CAFAGO promised to send it with a track, apparently they decided to save money) and it took 21 days to reach me.
The packaging is so-so, but the box was not damaged at all.

Its dimensions are 97 * 97 * 31 mm and weight 95 grams

It should be said right away that there are two versions of the bracelet - international and Chinese. The differences are insignificant - the international version of bluetooth 4.2 LE, while the Chinese one has 4.0 LE.

This is clearly stated on the box.

Photo of the box that came to me. Bluetooth4.0LE

The abbreviation LE stands for low energy, i.e. low power consumption.
It seems like version 4.2 is more energy efficient, but there is no real evidence that the bracelet with bluetooth version 4.2 works longer I could not find. The color of the screen is also slightly different.

The international version is colder, the Chinese one is warmer.

Also a completely uncritical difference. Also gives the Chinese version

complete absence inscriptions on the back of the bracelet

In my opinion, there is no point in chasing the international version. Take the one that is cheaper. Keep in mind - there are fake bracelets.
Read reviews carefully before buying and only buy from trusted places. It is elementary to check for originality - if the bracelet is synchronized with the original Mi Fit application, then it is not fake.

Also, before buying, make sure that your smartphone meets the minimum requirements:
To work with the bracelet, you need to support Bluetooth 4.0 LE and
- Android: 4.4 and above
- iOS: 7.0 and up (iPhone 4S and up)
- BlackBerry OS: 10 and above
- Windows phone: 8.1 and above ( official program no. Work through Bind Mi Band)

So let's now open the box and take a look at its contents.

Traditionally for Xiaomi, it is designed simply and ascetically.
Nothing extra. Modest and tasteful.
Included: capsule itself, silicone bracelet, charging cable and waste paper.

Cable length 14 cm with USB connector.

It can be connected to the USB port of our laptop or to any charger. The bracelet itself limits the current it needs for charging (about 50 mA), but for some reason the manufacturer does not recommend using chargers with an output current of more than 1 A.

You can see the polarity of the contacts in the picture.

It is also worth noting that this cable is not compatible with older versions of the bracelet (1 and 1s), so to charge Mi Band 2, you only need to use the cable from the kit or a similar one, which can be bought without problems on the same Ali.

The hand strap is made of medical grade silicone. Strap length is 235mm adjustable from 155mm to 210mm;

The strap from the second version of Mi Band is also not compatible with the previous generation of bracelets, because it has an improved design (a silicone side that prevents the capsule from falling out, which, by the way, is now inserted from the inside (from the side of the hand) and will not fall out accidentally).

Fastens with a mushroom clip.

Spare straps can also be bought on Ali or other sites, they often have sales and you can snatch them for half a buck.

Well, now the most important thing is the capsule itself.

Its body is made of polycarbonate. It is sealed, protected from water and dust according to the IP67 standard.
But be sure to remove the bracelet when visiting the sauna / bath, as the high temperature will damage the battery. For the same reason, you should not leave it in direct sunlight (on the beach or by the pool).
On the front panel there is a 0.42-inch OLED display with an oleophobic coating. Glass is said to pick up scratches a lot. Can be pasted protective film- here everyone decides for himself. Below is a 0.05 mm (five hundredths of a millimeter) anodized ultra-thin button that turns on the screen and toggles the displayed data.

The bracelet can show the time (cannot be disabled), the number of steps, the distance traveled, the calories burned, the pulse and the remaining battery charge. Also, the button is used to turn off the vibration of the bracelet when you call or the alarm goes off. All settings are made through the native Mi Fit application.

Inside the capsule is an energy-efficient accelerometer, which has a new upgraded pedometer and sleep monitoring algorithm (the version of the algorithm is updated with the firmware of the bracelet).

70 mAh Li-Pol battery. This is enough for about 20 days.
The bracelet also has its own memory, in which statistics are accumulated. When synchronizing, it is uploaded to the smartphone. The memory is enough for 40 days. Mi Band is completely autonomous, it counts the steps and phases of sleep. A smartphone is only needed to view detailed statistics and settings. Permanent connection only needed for call alerts and unlock (for Android devices)

The total weight of the capsule with strap is 19 grams.

C reverse side There is an optical heart rate sensor (with green LEDs) that works according to the PPG (Photoplethysmogram) principle.

This pulse-measuring technology is based on the effect that the blood flow in the blood vessels periodically changes when the heart beats and, accordingly, the amount of light absorbed. The technology is completely safe. The same as shining a flashlight into your hand.

Unfortunately, the bracelet came to me empty, so before continuing, we put it on charge.
To measure the charging current in practice, we use a USB tester.

Unfortunately, the KEWEISI USB tester could not register such a small current, so we take another tester from JUWEI. As you can see, the charging current is 40 mA. Let's leave the bracelet to charge to full, at the same time and measure how much energy will be poured into it.

After an hour and a half, the charging current first dropped to 20 mA, and after a minute, charging completely turned off. 67 mAh of energy was poured into the bracelet and now it is fully charged.

To set up the bracelet and synchronize it, we need the Mi Fit application. If you don't have it, then download it from the App Store.

We launch it and

After that, you must either create your MI account (if you do not have one), indicating your mail.
To do this, click "Create Mi Account" and

we follow the instructions.

After registration, a confirmation letter will be sent to the mail, in which you just need to click on the orange button.

Everything. MI account created. Using his data, we log in to the application and again

agree to all requests

We allow the application to enter data into the Health program.

Upload an avatar and enter personal data. They are needed to correctly calculate the distance traveled and calories burned. So there is no point in cheating).

We enter the daily rate of steps, upon reaching which the bracelet will happily vibrate (adjustable function).

.
Everything. Now before us main screen and the next step is to pair the bracelet with the phone. It is worth noting that the Mi Fit app also works with other products from Xiaomi, for example, with floor scales Mi Scale, smart watch and even sneakers.

At this stage, we need to stop and say a few words about the firmware. The bracelet contains two parts of the software: the firmware itself and the pedometer and sleep monitoring algorithm.
On the this moment latest version Firmware - 1.0.1.53, Algorithm - 1.1.06.
In order for the bracelet to correctly display the name of the caller when the output is incoming, you need to CORRECTLY update its firmware and additional fonts. Unfortunately, for some reason this can only be done by squinting under the Chinese (and downloading Chinese firmware). To do this, you need to temporarily switch your phone to Chinese.

The site w3bsit3-dns.com has a very detailed instructions

1. If the Chinese language was previously installed, remove it from the "preferred order of languages"
2. If Mi Fit was previously installed, untie the bracelet in it, untie the pair in the bluetooth, remove Mi Fit
3. Reboot your phone
4. Download again Mi Fit from AppStore and install
5. Launch Mi Fit, log in, sync with the bracelet, pair in bluetooth, put the bracelet next to the phone as close as possible
6. The firmware should be updated (for the English version), check that everything works, there is synchronization
7. Check and turn off all notifications in Mi Fit (calls, sms, apps, alerts, alarms)
8. Close Mi Fit (so that it does not hang in the background)
9. Add Simplified Chinese in the language settings, it should be in the first place in the language priority, then English, then Russian, put the bracelet next to the phone as close as possible
10. Run Mi Fit (in Chinese), there should be an update, if it doesn’t work, try again, if it doesn’t help, turn off / on the bluetooth (do not break the pair)
11. If the update is interrupted (and this happens in most cases), close Mi Fit, remove it from the background
12. Without changing the Chinese language in the bluetooth settings, unpair the bracelet (forget the device), then turn off and on the bluetooth, put the bracelet next to the phone as close as possible
13. Run Mi Fit, sync, the update should go in Chinese and complete successfully (the firmware version will not change, only additional fonts will be loaded)
14. In iphone settings return the Russian language back, in the priority of languages, Russian should be in the first place, English in the second, Chinese can be deleted everywhere
15. Launch Mi Fit, sync, turn on the necessary notifications
16. Check, now the name of the caller should be displayed in Russian letters

I will start right away from point 5, since I have never had either Chinese or the Mi Fit application on my phone.
Choose a bracelet and click accept.

The application starts looking for a bracelet that lies calmly in the immediate vicinity of the phone.

At some point it will find it

At this point, you need to quickly press the button on the bracelet to confirm pairing.
If you managed to do this, then the pairing was successful and you get to the main screen of the Mi Fit application

At this stage, you should not climb the menu and start exploring everything. You need to update the firmware. This all happens automatically. Wait a couple of minutes. When it downloads, you will see:

On the bracelet at this moment, the following indication is on the screen

We are waiting for the update to complete (if an error pops up, try again).
Now we have on the bracelet latest firmware… But that is not all. In order to download additional fonts with Cyrillic support, you need to temporarily switch your phone to Chinese (what an irony) and DO update the bracelet. Close the Mi Fit app completely.

Turn on in the phone settings (Settings - General - Language and region - add language) Simplified Chinese.

We observe the correct order of languages.

Now we restart the Mi Fit application (already in Chinese). Judging by the manual, there should be another firmware update by itself. But it didn’t work for me until I went into the bracelet notification settings

After that, the bracelet began to be updated.

After that, we return the Russian language in the phone settings and try to call ourselves.

We enter the subscriber in the address book and repeat.

As you can see, everything works fine - the name is displayed. It is worth noting that a maximum of 9 characters will be displayed, not counting spaces. Here is a limitation.

Let's take a look at all the settings that the Mi Fit app on IOS provides us with. Unfortunately, its Russification leaves much to be desired…
The application has three tabs. Status, Activity and Profile.
In the Status tab, you can see the current progress of the activity, force synchronization by pulling the screen down, open the help about the Mi Band (see the description of the icons that you see on the bracelet), check the data on the pulse, weight (you can enter it manually or with xiaomi scale scales. There are profiles for different people), as well as to know the progress towards the goal (for example, 8000 steps per day, as recommended by WHO).

Status tab

The Activity tab is something like a fitness tracker, similar to such popular apps like Strava, RunKeeper and others.

Activity tab

AND last tab Profile. Allows you to configure the bracelet itself (we will consider below), set the activity goal (for example, 8000 steps per day), the desired weight, share this information with friends using a QR code, add accounts of some social networks. networks, set behavior labels (as I understand it, behavior standards so that the bracelet can more accurately recognize activity), set up units of measurement, leave feedback to developers and look at the About section (About in the original), where you can find the version of the application and algorithm.

Profile tab - General settings applications

If you select your bracelet on this tab in the My devices section, then we get directly into the settings of the bracelet itself. Here you can set up notifications about an incoming call, set an alarm (you can set it by the days of the week. There are 10 alarms in total that work independently of phone alarms. That is, even if the phone sits down, the bracelet will vibrate), set up notifications from applications, inactivity, SMS, mail , reaching the goal and turn on the do not disturb mode.
You can make it so that with a short press the triggered alarm clock is postponed for 10 minutes, and turned off completely only by holding the button on the bracelet for a long time.
You can also set the visibility mode of the bracelet (I don’t know why this is necessary, it’s always invisible for me and everything works), select the hand on which you wear the bracelet, select the data to display on the screen (everything except the time can be turned off), select the format time (useful when the screen has the date and day of the week), and also activate the gesture of raising your hand to turn on the screen and switch the displayed data. You can also turn on heart rate tracking at night while you sleep to analyze it in the morning. Cool feature, but causes increased battery consumption (because it periodically turns on to measure the pulse in a dream).
At the very bottom, you can see the firmware version of the bracelet, its Bluetooth address (MAC address) and untie the bracelet from the application. It is worth saying more about this. Each bracelet is associated with your MI account and the bracelet cannot be linked to a new account without first unlinking it from the old one. So if suddenly your bracelet was stolen - do not untie it from your account. Don't make life easy for thieves.

Profile tab - My devices

For the sake of interest, let's compare the heart rate readings obtained from the bracelet with the readings from the chest heart rate monitor, a review of which I also once wrote. Since the bracelet itself cannot constantly measure heart rate (heart rate), we will force it to do this through the Mi Fit application.

We put on the bracelet above the wrist, as the manufacturer advises.

To take heart rate readings from a bib - run the PulseMe program.

At rest, the readings are almost the same

After doing several dozen squats, the heart rate readings on the bib clearly grow, while the Mi Band 2 is still dull.

And only after 5-10 seconds Mi Band 2 starts to show correctly.

Thus, the readings of the bracelet converge with the readings of the chest heart rate monitor, but one must take into account the delay in measuring the pulse that Mi Band 2 has. In principle, for cardio training, when the load grows slowly or constantly and the heart rate also changes smoothly, the accuracy and speed of Mi Band 2 is enough .

In order to constantly monitor the heart rate in other programs, and not just in Mi Fit, you can use the Mi HR continuous heart rate monitoring program. The functionality is paid. It costs 299 rubles. There is a 10 minute free trial.
But, to be honest, it did not work for me (when I tried to turn on the measurement of the pulse, the LEDs did not even light up). Also, for a fee, the program allows you to downgrade the firmware of the bracelet. I did not buy the paid version, I do not know if it works. Write if you have tried.

UPDATE! The MI HR program is working. Continuous heart rate measurement works. And the pulse is visible in third party programs, of type RunKeeper.

For Android users the bracelet is more functional and allows you to implement functions such as unlocking the phone without entering a password.

It works especially well for Xiaomi phones(on MIUI)

On MIUI:
When you turn on the screen and bring the bracelet to the phone, the secure lock is disabled
If the bracelet is not close (for example, they gave it to someone): you will have to unlock it with a pattern key with a PIN code / password
On other firmware:
If the bracelet is connected, there will be no secure lock, only the slider will remain
If the connection with the bracelet is lost (distance over 10 meters), the screen lock will return

Also on Android there is a wonderful application Mi Band 2 Func Button, which allows you to configure various functions for single, double and triple pressing. And also to the gesture of turning with a brush.

Features of Mi Band 2 Func Button

* Switch music (Forward/Back/Pause/Play) in most known players.
* Timer (Start/Stop) for a given time. You can set an intermediate vibration at a specified interval.
* Sending commands to Tasker
* Reset, accept and mute an incoming call.
* Trigger vibration on your phone.
* Trigger an alarm sound on your phone.
* Volume control.
For each of the types of clicks, you can configure the feedback in the form of a given vibration.

Unfortunately, I don't have an Android smartphone. If you have and managed to configure this functionality - write in the comments. Sending commands to Tasker opens up a huge scope for creativity. Write how you use this feature. Interesting.

That's all. I hope you enjoyed my review and found it helpful. If so, don't forget to upvote. A lot of time was spent on it.

Our detailed instruction will help you set up and connect the Xiaomi Mi Band 2 fitness bracelet, as well as explain how to use it in tandem with the Mi Fit app.

This elegant sports bracelet is designed for sports enthusiasts and beginner fitness athletes. With it, you can track your heart rate, calories burned, distance covered, and sleep quality. All data can be synced with your phone and analyzed on the mobile app, helping you plan your exercise time and intensity.

How to assemble

The assembly is nothing complicated. You need to insert the module into the silicone strap. The company in its instructions recommends doing this from the back of the bracelet. IN otherwise, you will stretch the cell, as a result of which the tracker will eventually fall out of it during active hand movements.

How to enable/disable

The new model of the popular tracker Mi Band 2 went on sale relatively recently, but despite the fact that the price has not yet decreased after the hype at the start of sales, it can already be seen on many athletes. This article will tell you how to use the device as comfortably as possible and set it up correctly.

The device is supplied only in the standard package, which includes:

  1. Fitness tracker;
  2. Bracelet;
  3. USB charging cable (without power supply);
  4. Instruction in Chinese.

If the tracker battery has a charge level of more than 60%, then you can start using the device. Otherwise, it is recommended to charge it. To do this, you need to connect the tracker to a special cable connector, and insert it with the other side into the USB connector of a laptop or powerbank. If you plan to use a mains charger, make sure that its voltage and current match those recommended by the manufacturer. Under no circumstances should you use fast charging with a current of more than 1A.

Before using, it is necessary to securely fix the tracker in the bracelet case. It should be inserted from the inside, adjacent to the arm, side.

To make sure that the fixation is secure, shake the bracelet over a soft surface: an armchair, a sofa.

The device is turned on by pressing the touch button on the display.

Activation

  1. To control the bracelet, you need to download to your smartphone special application MiFit. There are also modified versions on the Internet, but it is still recommended to install the program from official store. It is advisable to turn on Wi-Fi, because the amount of data transferred can be large.
  2. Next, you need to sign in to your Mi account. If you don't have it yet, then you need to register. This will not be discussed in detail, since most owners of Xiaomi devices already have it. And if there are any difficulties during the registration process, then for this we have a separate one.
  • name or alias;
  • Date of Birth;
  • height and weight;
  • the planned daily number of steps to the nearest thousand.

The standard value is 10 thousand steps. With a full physique, the initial rate should be set at the level of 6-7 thousand steps, increasing it as you train. During the first launch of the application, the weight is indicated with an accuracy of 1 kg, you can set a more accurate value in the settings.

The data entered helps the application not only assess the state of health, but also improve the accuracy of counting the steps taken.

If everything is done correctly, the bracelet firmware update will start. During this process, you should bring it as close as possible to the smartphone and do not move the mobile device to places with poor signal strength.

Possible sync issues and how to fix them

First of all, you should make sure that your device complies with system requirements. Fitness bracelet Xiaomi Mi Band 2 is able to work with smartphones from various manufacturers, including Apple. However, devices that are too old will not be supported. Minimum Requirements: Android 4.4 or iOS 7.0, and fourth generation Bluetooth.

If the bracelet has already been in operation, then before buying it is necessary to make one setting, namely, “untie” it from the account of the previous owner. Otherwise, you will not be able to control the device through Mi Fit.

Another common cause of connection problems is too much distance between devices or the presence of signal interference (walls, metal elements, radiation from other devices).

If your device is suitable, then you should try to manually find the bracelet in the list of detected Bluetooth connections. If the smartphone refuses to receive a signal at all, then a software error may also be the cause of the failure. In this case, it is recommended to re-enable Bluetooth or completely restart the phone.

Perhaps the synchronization problems are caused by incorrect settings, you can try resetting them to the default ones.

In some cases, it helps to install more old version Mi Fit apps such as .

Still unable to detect Xiaomi Mi Band 2 via Bluetooth? Probably due to a technical problem. First you need to make sure that the Bluetooth on your smartphone is functioning correctly by connecting a device. If everything is in order, then you can try to synchronize with Mi Band 2 using another device. It did not help - contact the seller with a request for an exchange or repair of the bracelet.

Tracker usage modes

In order to correctly calculate the load, the fitness bracelet needs to know what kind of physical exercise is being performed at the moment. For example, you can switch the tracker to running mode in the "Activity" ("Status") tab. After activating it, the tracker will start collecting more detailed information:

  • distance and time of the run;
  • instant and average pulse;
  • the amount of energy spent;
  • stride speed and width;
  • owner's route.

To turn off the running mode, you will need to press the "Finish" button. After that, you will be able to get acquainted with more detailed data. You can also run the heart rate monitor separately. If you do this using the application, the results will be saved to the database, and when the bracelet is offline, they will be displayed on the screen.

The bracelet also supports various behavior tags. For example, you can enter a training schedule with pre-known exercises there. The creators claim that in this case, the tracker learns and more effectively monitors the physical condition of the owner.

Also, Mi Band 2 allows you to view activity statistics and marks the user's achievements. A message about your records can be placed on the page in social network. There is an opportunity to add users who train according to a similar program as friends and follow their results. This feature is also useful for coaches to control their players.

Body weight control

The bracelet is able to independently assess the wearer's fitness based on the body mass index. However, do not forget that this is not a universal indicator, but only an approximate value, which may differ depending on the individual characteristics of the organism.

If you plan to lose weight, then you should set the desired value in the profile. Mi Band 2 does not create a training program, but it will help you monitor changes in weight. It is recommended to use it in combination with a "smart" scale that can be synchronized with a smartphone. If these are not available, then you will have to enter the values \u200b\u200bmanually. Weight measurements should be taken at about the same time before or after meals, otherwise the results will be incorrect.

Not less than useful feature, which allows you to track the activity of the body during sleep. You do not need to switch to this mode - it turns on automatically. Based on the measurement results, the application will create a detailed schedule, divided into phases of light and deep sleep.

Bracelet customization

The Mi Fit application is completely in Russian, so it will not be difficult to understand its interface and set it up correctly. We will only cover some useful features.

Data synchronization

This is perhaps the most important feature, because if it is not available, all training information will be stored in the smartphone’s memory, and if the device is damaged, it will be lost forever. Using Google Fit will help prevent this. In addition, data from cloud storage can be exported to another fitness bracelet.

Visibility of Bluetooth connection for all devices

You must disable this mode if it is active. It does not bring any benefit to the average user, but only consumes additional energy.

Smartphone unlock

Quite a handy feature, but be warned that using this mode creates certain security gaps, because Mi Band 2 can be stolen. If important information is stored on a smartphone or it is used for financial transactions, then it is better to use a fingerprint scanner.

The Mi Band 2 bracelet is able to promptly notify the owner of incoming calls, receiving SMS messages and notifications from programs, for example, a VK client or email. You can set an alarm. It has been proven that awakening from vibration is much softer than from a loud sound.

Separately, mention should be made of the inactivity alert function. A person needs to move, so even if you have a sedentary job, you should warm up at least once every 2 hours. It will also be useful to activate vibration when the connection with the smartphone is broken.

In order for the Mi Band 2 tracker not to cause inconvenience, you should specify the interval during which notifications should not be sent in the "Do Not Disturb" section. If necessary, vibration can be turned off, leaving only the text on the tracker display.

Another useful feature is the use of a battery indicator to show progress towards a daily goal. Customizable given function in the statistics section.

Mi Band 1S Pulse is a cross between the first and second generation of fitness bracelets from Xiaomi. From the first model, the device took the design and functionality, adding to it the ability to measure the pulse, as implemented in the Mi Band 2 bracelet. The Mi Band 1S Pulse instruction will help you learn about some of the intricacies of working with the bracelet and the rules for its operation.

Bracelet setting

The main difference between and is the lack of a display in the younger model. Otherwise, the bracelets completely repeat the functionality of each other, which means that the method of pairing with mobile devices and their joint work is almost identical.

As in the case of the Mi Band 2, the bracelet is able to track sleep phases, notify with vibration about new messages and calls, and also independently unlock the “attached” smartphone if they are at a distance of a meter.

You can find out the most disclosed information about setting up a fitness tracker from the article:

The only difference is Mi Band Pulse does not support labels feature.

Thus, you will not be able to use the “Behavior Tags” section in the Mi Fit application with this bracelet.

Light indicators

The bracelet does not have a display, which means that you will not be able to find out the current time, distance traveled or pulse without the help of a smartphone. However, the three indicator lights placed on the Mi Band Pulse can still help you find out some information.

By making a brush stroke, as while viewing the time on a regular watch, depending on your result, the indicators may glow in different ways:

  • nothing happens - you have passed less than 1/3 of your daily goal;
  • one LED - more than 1/3 of the daily target;
  • two LEDs - more than 2/3 of your target;
  • three LEDs - you have exceeded your daily goal;
  • the first and third LEDs are lit - you have reached the daily goal.

Operating rules

Compatibility

The bracelet is able to work with mobile devices running operating system Android 4.4 and higher with Bluetooth 4.0 module. Band Pulse also connects to iPhone 4s and newer.

Charging Mi Band

It is necessary to charge the Mi Band Pulse using a special cable included in the kit, however, if it is not available, you can use the universal “toad” to charge any smartphone batteries.

While connecting to charger indicator lights display the approximate charge level:

  • 1 flashing indicator - charge up to 33%;
  • 2 flashing indicators - charge up to 66%;
  • 3 flashing indicators - charge up to 100%;
  • 3 luminous indicator– the battery is charged.

Time battery life is approximately 30 days.
