A program to play telephone games on the computer. Android emulators for PC (Windows based computer)

Hello, dear readers of the blog site. If earlier emulators were a tool designed primarily for developers, now it is a mass product used by ordinary users.

There are quite a few application scenarios: someone plays mobile games using the keyboard and mouse, webmasters, for example, can see how their site looks on various devices, and many in this way just get to know Android.

Yes, and over the past couple of years, several popular services have appeared that do not have clients for a PC, but thanks to Android emulators, it is possible to use them on a computer (for example,). Natural questions arise: which of the emulators to choose, which is the most functional, and which one is better suited for certain purposes? In general, let's understand.

BlueStacks 2

When you first launch BlueStacks, you can't help but notice that it's quite different from its competitors. The developers have installed their own special Gamepop launcher on top of Android, which displays only games and applications. That is, you will not find the usual desktops and menus here - the main emphasis is on testing software for mobile devices on the computer.

For the convenience of users, the developers have added a sidebar that simulates various actions with the device: you can take a screenshot, change the screen orientation from horizontal to vertical, move files from your computer to the emulator, and much more.

The program has Google Play, so it will be enough to log into your account to then install applications. In addition, this can be done using APK files.

BlueStacks implemented the transfer of files from a computer to an Android emulator and vice versa, but for this you first have to download file manager and do some manipulations. In this article you will find detailed instructions on the use of BlueStacks, in particular, on sending files.

In conclusion, I would like to note that BlueStacks is the most popular Android emulator on PC. Whether it was influenced by the fact that it is also one of the first emulators, I can’t say, but I know for sure that most users download it exclusively for gaming, and such a program interface is great for this purpose.

Droid4X

Droid4X is downloaded from the official website droid4x.com or it is possible to download full version on specialized resources. The installation process itself takes 5-10 minutes. After the program is installed, a notification will appear on the screen. On a 2-core Intel processor The emulator takes a long time to open, about 2 minutes.

Droid4X runs on a slightly revised version of Android 4.2.2, appearance desktop is not much different from what we can see on smartphones with the same OS.

In particular, the changes affected the menus and desktops, while the “OS” settings item is generally embedded in the interface. The main screens are divided into 3 types: "Device", "Recommended" and " App Store". The last screen is a classic Google market.

The controls themselves are located at the bottom of the screen and are almost similar to how the Android 4.2.2 operating system looks in the tablet version. At the same time, the keys standard for the mobile OS were replenished with buttons for controlling the camera, zoom, keyboard, and others.

A useful feature of this Andoid emulator for Windows is that there is a pre-installed supersu app, or in other words ROOT access. Also very useful feature- Droid4X Multi Manager, which allows you to create multiple copies of the system at once. To control actions in the program, it is possible to use an Android smartphone, on which a special controller application is installed.

It is possible to install the Droid4X emulator on the operating system Windows system XP or higher. For full-fledged work, you need 1 GB in your PC random access memory. During operation, the amount of RAM used by the program is 400 MB and will increase as applications are launched. Well, one of the main advantages is free and complete absence advertising.

Andy OS

Working with Andy OS starts by running the setup file, which can be downloaded from andyroid.net. There are two versions - offline and online. So if you have problems with the connection, it is better to immediately download the offline version, which weighs about 450 MB. In the case of online installation, the volume of the distribution kit will be 10 MB, and the rest of the necessary files will be uploaded as you work.

By the way, the installation is slow, although the manufacturer indicates that the process takes about 10 minutes, in fact, everything takes longer.

After downloading, we get to the standard desktop of Android 4.2.2. The developer did not "reinvent the wheel" and left the operating system unchanged, and even the graphical shell is the same. True, the appearance of the interface can then be customized independently.

In the application menu, you can find all the programs you need to work, including Google Apps. However, the emulator also has an unpleasant property - to independently load applications that the user does not need without his consent.

In the lower menu, as expected, all the controls are located. In addition to the standard home button for this version of Android, the "Back" and " Running applications"There are new keys, such as controlling the camera, resolution, orientation and other elements.

You can interact with the emulator using peripheral controls, as well as with touch screen connected devices. The easiest way to do this is to use Andy Remote Control.

In terms of performance, Andy OS shows good performance. You can install it on Windows 7 SP1 or higher. For normal operation, you need 3 GB of RAM in your PC, since on average the program uses about 500 MB of RAM during operation. Even though Andy OS is a free Android emulator, it constantly downloads various advertising applications, which gradually “clutters up” the memory and leads to uncontrolled traffic consumption.

Genymotion

This emulator is based on VirtualBox. That is, a virtual machine is created, due to which maximum performance is achieved. The main thing is to check if it is included in BIOS hardware virtualization extension (if supported by your processor) to make Genymotion run at its most powerful.

First you need to register on the official website, after which you can download setup file programs with or without VirtualBox. If VirtualBox was downloaded and installed by you earlier, you can download the regular version of Genymotion.

On the first run, you will need to create virtual device: You can choose from a variety of smartphones and tablets running Android OS versions available for these models. So, for example, Nexus 9 can run on Android 5.0 and higher.

The emulator interface is a bare Android with three familiar control buttons, a menu, a “curtain”, etc. In addition, there is a special sidebar where you can enable / disable the Internet, GPS or webcam, adjust the sound or change the screen orientation.

If you want to learn more about this Android emulator on PC, check out the topic resource. Genymotion is a solution for geeks that is still actively developed and updated with new virtual devices.

You can download this emulator from the developer's site bignox.com, and it can be both online and offline distribution, the user's choice. The installation itself is simple and relatively fast, and takes no more than 5 minutes. The introduction begins with a redesigned Android home screen with a tablet-like interface. Labels are arranged in the form of a square grid, there is a docking panel, a status bar and other necessary elements.

There is no menu with applications in Nox App Player, thus resembling the interfaces of Chinese developers, where the application shortcut immediately gets to the desktop. But widgets in the emulator cannot be placed on the desktop. Initially in installed program there are several built-in applications, including Google Play.

The controls are located on the right side of the screen, where you can add the desired icon yourself. The advantage of the program can be called a full-fledged full-screen mode, which is not always found in Android emulators for Windows.

You can interact with Nox APP Player using the mouse or touch screen. In addition, it is possible to assign and add additional control keys in the future, which is easy to do in the control settings.

The functionality here is quite decent. It implements the ability to record video from the screen, save multiple system images and switch between them, and support for gaming peripherals with already built-in profiles. Curiously, the settings allow you to independently limit the amount of RAM consumed by the software, while the minimum required amount for operation is 400 MB during startup.

You can install Nox App Player on Windows XP SP2 or higher operating system. To work, you need at least 512 MB of RAM on your computer. The program is free, besides, this Android emulator does not irritate the user with intrusive advertising.

Which Android emulator for PC is best

The review presents 5 utilities, all of them do an excellent job with their tasks, but I would especially like to highlight Nox App Player and Genymotion. These emulators have maximum functionality, they are suitable for both developers and ordinary users and there are no ads in them.

If you are a fan of games, then the best option, in my opinion, is BlueStacks.

Good luck to you! See you soon on the blog pages site

It's no secret that all programs have their drawbacks. This utility also has them, but in truth, they are not very significant. The most basic problem is that there is no way to install random applications. It is worth mentioning that on low-power computers that give poor performance, the work will be somewhat difficult.

It is rightfully considered one of the most affordable Android emulators. After all, its distribution kit weighs only about 9 MB, and you can download the program for free, since it does not have a license and is in free distribution.

But most importantly, the functionality of the utility is in no way inferior to its closest competitors. Here you can use your favorite applications by installing them from the Play Market. And, if you are used to the sensor, then at any time you will be able to establish control using a smartphone connected to a PC.

By default, the Android operating system is designed to be used on devices with an ARM architecture processor. The x86 computer processor from AMD or Intel simply will not understand the commands coming from the mobile operating system. Therefore, a special version of Android is installed on the PC. Or an emulator is used, as is the case with running games for very old consoles. But which one to choose? Our top Android emulators will help answer this question.

It should be noted that many of the developers' creations are tailored for use on Windows 10. Older versions may experience freezes and other problems. Although there are exceptions.

Without any doubt, this is the best emulator among those that have been developed relatively recently. It has not yet turned into a monster overloaded with functionality, while all the features that an ordinary user needs are present here. The program should also suit an application developer who needs to test their products.

An important feature is the fact that there is a built-in Play Store here. Also, this Android emulator on Windows impresses with its performance. Even when running heavy games, FPS drops are almost not felt. Another program is able to please the fact that it can be remotely controlled using a smartphone. She recognizes and connected.

To use the emulator, AMD-V or Intel VT-x virtualization technology must be enabled. Without it, the program will function noticeably slower. It should also be noted that the emulator is not yet fully optimized and tested, and therefore random slowdowns may occur from time to time.

Advantages:

  • Able to work even without the inclusion of virtualization technology.
  • Excellent performance.
  • Clear interface.
  • Support for remote control.
  • The ability to use a gamepad.
  • 99% of existing applications and games work.

Flaws:

  • Sometimes there is instability.

We talked about installing this program in more detail in an article called. This utility primarily intended for application developers who need to test their creations on devices with different screen resolutions. offers a huge number of virtual gadgets equipped not only with a different display, but also with a different version of the operating system Android systems.

You can download this emulator for free. But if you are going to use it for non-educational purposes, you will have to use one or another subscription, which costs some money. Importantly, the program is designed for weak PCs, as long as the computer supports virtualization technology. At the same time, Genymotion consistently copes with its tasks, emulating not only the operating system, but also the work front cameras, as well as interaction with wireless modules. In commercial assemblies, there is also a screencast and a remote control function.

Advantages:

  • Huge selection of virtual devices.
  • Virtually nothing needs to be configured.
  • There are versions for Mac OS X and Linux.
  • The work of the front and main cameras is emulated.
  • Shared clipboard for virtual machine and PC.
  • There is access to command line computer.
  • After subscribing, screencast and remote control are provided.
  • Even wireless modules are emulated.

Flaws:

  • The need to register an account on the developer's website.
  • Full use is possible only by subscription.

This Android emulator for a computer in Russian has one unpleasant feature. Its free version brings viruses to the PC from time to time. If you have good antivirus, then you should not be afraid of this. And there is absolutely no need to worry if you are an application developer who wants to subscribe to a paid subscription, which costs about two dollars a month - it eliminates this shortcoming in no time.

In theory can be used on Windows 7. But it shows maximum performance on the "top ten", like many other programs reviewed today. As for the functionality of the emulator, it is very wide. The user can run 3D games, work in full screen mode, install an unlimited number of applications and perform other actions. Synchronization with an existing Android device is also available. BlueStacks comes with over a dozen pre-installed applications.

Advantages:

  • Ability to run heavy games.
  • There are pre-installed applications.
  • Stable work.
  • Synchronization with a real smartphone or tablet.
  • Easy to learn interface.
  • Inexpensive subscription.

Flaws:

nox

If you are considering Android emulators on PC only for the sake of games, then you should stop at nox. This program supports the largest number input organs. You can work with this emulator using the keyboard, mouse, gamepad and other game controllers.

A unique feature of Nox is its support for multitasking. Right in the window of this emulator, you can run two games at once, thereby creating a multiplayer. Ideal for developers of multiplayer games!

The application has clear interface. Users note that it functions equally stably on all modern versions of the Windows operating system.

Advantages:

  • Stable work on most computers.
  • The best way for games.
  • Ability to run two identical games at the same time.
  • The interface and setup are not difficult.

Flaws:

Xamarin Android Player

This is the simplest emulator of the Android operating system, distributed for free. Theoretically, application developers can try it. But such people will note the absence of any serious functionality, after which they will switch to more advanced analogues. well and ordinary users opportunities Xamarin Android Player will be quite enough.

This program works for all Windows versions, starting with the "seven". But to install it, you need VirtualBox from Oracle (also distributed free of charge). Also do not forget to enable the appropriate technology in the BIOS settings.

Advantages:

  • Very simple interface.
  • All basic functions are in place.
  • There are no installation problems.
  • Compatible with different versions of Windows.
  • Can be downloaded for free.

Flaws:

  • There are no major features.
  • No good multitasking.
  • Tough games come with great difficulty.

Another fairly simple Android emulator for PC. It was created by Chinese developers, so you should not expect any serious opportunities from it. Moreover, the program regularly produces stutters, which will annoy some people. But can be installed even on Windows XP, which cannot be said about most of its competitors! Perhaps this is its main and only advantage. In addition, you can only remember the high speed of work - in those moments when sudden braking does not occur.

Advantages:

  • Competent emulation of Android and most applications.
  • Simplified installation.
  • Complete free.
  • Works even on older versions of Windows.
  • Good performance.

Flaws:

  • No gamepad support.
  • Sudden brakes while working.
  • No normal multitasking.

gameloop

Gameloop is an Android emulator from the Chinese company Tencent. The program is great for running on a PC such mobile games, how Call of Duty: Mobile and PUBG Mobile. Optionally, you can install Google Play services on the emulator and use it to work with other Android applications.

First of all, Gameloop is suitable specifically for working with games, since it is convenient to configure control from the mouse and keyboard through it. Also in the settings you can specify the desired visualization parameters, change other configurations. However, compared to other emulators, Gameloop's capabilities are limited in this regard.

Advantages:

  • There is access to Google services play.
  • Distributed for free.
  • Great for running games.
  • Clear interface.
  • Customizable control.
Flaws:
  • Not suitable for testing Android applications.
  • Limited settings.

Summarizing

There are actually other Android emulators out there. But they often work even less stably, and therefore their installation is not recommended. Well, the developers of the programs we have reviewed deserve praise. Their creations function perfectly on most computers, while offering a fairly wide range of functionality.

A couple of years ago, I didn’t even have a thought to download an android emulator for my usual Windows computer. But the popularity of the brainchild of Google cannot but surprise, of course, this affected the entire industry. information technologies- it turned out just unrealistically many different applications and games that work exclusively on Android and you can download them from, which I wrote about recently. That is why it was decided to write this manual optionally the best emulator- in a nutshell it will not work, there is plenty to choose from.

In fact, there are really many reasons why it becomes necessary to run Android emulator on his personal computer or laptop. For example, app developers can test their software before publishing it to the App Store on various configurations. Fans of a wide variety of games can use their favorite mice and keyboards over the years as game controls - and this is really necessary (however, I do not think that they will replace the gyroscope control). In any case, emulating Android applications on Windows is possible, and my task is to tell you about the best in this niche.

Two years ago, I had the imprudence to install the Hay Day game on my tablet, well, I hung there for several days. The habit has done its job - playing on the computer is more familiar and convenient for me, but online versions does not exist in nature and it was decided to install the Bluestacks emulator. At that time, probably the only adequate option for launching games for Android on a PC under Windows control.

Important note: Some emulators require the BIOS (or UEFI) to enable support for Intel VT-x or AMD-v hardware virtualization. Usually they are always active, but if you are experiencing problems with some of the emulators from the list, then check these options. However, that's not all, I noticed that when installing the Hyper-V component in the system, many of the above emulators simply refused to start - I did not find a solution to this problem, so choose what is more important for you. (There are a lot of alternatives to Hyper-V and they do not conflict - this is not said to offend Microsoft)

Since we are talking about virtualization in general, it should be understood that the android emulator is a rather gluttonous thing and requires a sufficient amount of RAM. You can see its amount in the properties of the system (for beginners, there is a detailed note on how to determine computer parameters -), if you have less than 4 gigabytes of RAM, then most likely you may not achieve comfortable work.

Do not forget that for correct operation and maximum performance, it is recommended to install the latest versions of drivers for graphics adapter. I did not include commercial versions in this review, because I understand that most likely it is needed to satisfy interest, and indeed, to see how it happens there.

Nox App Player - perhaps the best emulator

To be honest, I met this emulator quite recently, but nevertheless it deserves the first line in our review. More recently, I thought that "Bluestacks" is the best thing for our tasks, but I was very wrong. (although it probably did before). Now in this segment there is healthy competition and a lot of really worthy options. Most likely, if you do not have problems with NOX App Player, then your acquaintance with android virtualization will end here - you simply will not find a better one. Everything works great, even modern Windows 10 and I did not find any problems with installation or settings, everything is intuitively simple and clear.

After installing and running the program, and it is installed quickly enough - just a couple of minutes, we will see a familiar android screen(unfortunately not the latest version, but only 4.4.2, but this is enough to run a huge number of games and applications). Google Play Market is already preinstalled in the system, so there should be no problems with choosing what to play. There is a small note: be prepared to confirm your Google account, authorization in NOX App Player causes distrust among the “corporation of goodness”.

Unfortunately, the program does not have localization into Russian, but the android itself is allowed to switch to Russian - you can do this in the same way as on a phone or tablet. But all the program settings will remain in English, but this is not the most a big problem set once and forget.

Now let's move on to the settings (you can open them by clicking on the gear icon at the top of the program). We are interested in the “Advanced” tab - by default, the emulator will start at a resolution of 1280 × 720, for some it may turn out to be a lot, or vice versa - too small, just select the one you need and restart the application. You can also configure your emulated device here, for example, Performance Setting - these are performance settings, as it turned out, nothing slowed me down even in the minimum configuration, which indicates good optimization.

For the test, I tried to install the game Need For Speed: No Limits - everything works exceptionally smoothly and there are no issues with the management. Of course, racing is not the best example, but as far as I know, this game is quite demanding on resources, but everything works just fine.

I would like to write a few words about the action icons that are located to the right of the emulator window, let's go over some of them:

  • There is the possibility of installing applications from APK files from a computer, given function useful if you have problems with the Google Play Store.
  • You can select your location manually and the emulator will think it is receiving real GPS coordinates receiver, but we set them ourselves.
  • Creating screenshots, I think there is nothing special to explain here - the most common picture with the contents of the window at a certain moment.

What can be summed up after the mini description of the android emulator Nox App Player? If you need to install Prescope, Instagram or similar programs, then this emulator is ideal for these purposes. There are no questions about the speed of work, even heavy 3D toys work great, but you should understand that a lot depends on the performance of your computer.

UPD: If Nox App Player does not start or refuses to install, then most likely the username contains Russian characters. You can create a new user using only English characters or rename an existing one

You can download NOX App Player for free on the official website http://en.bignox.com/

Andy is my choice

I can’t say why, but I settled on this emulator - it seemed to me the most thoughtful and convenient. Unfortunately, the interface is similar to the previous one - on English language, but Android itself is in the Russian language we are used to. No special problems with installation and launch were found, everything went like clockwork.

This android emulator has a pre-installed application store and for the test I tried to install Township and check how everything works. To be honest, I got stuck and lost for about an hour - everything works smoothly, does not crash or buggy.

There is nothing special to configure, I think it’s worth highlighting the emulator’s screen resolution settings, if suddenly the window turns out to be too large or small. The settings are called by clicking on the program icon in the taskbar next to the clock, the menu item is called Set [email protected], here the resolution we cherish is chosen. Naturally, after applying the settings, the program must be restarted for the settings to take effect.

If you are worried that this emulator has few settings, then you are mistaken, everything you need is here. You can also configure the allocated amount of RAM (do not forget that it cannot be more than physically installed in your computer) and the number of processor cores. On this I think we can finish the description of this wonderful application.

Bluestacks - former favorite

Bluestacks is probably the most popular and well-known Android operating system emulator for a Windows computer. A big plus of this program is the presence of the Russian language, but this is not quite an emulator - rather an environment for running games. This is probably why Bluestacks shows just excellent performance in gaming applications, if you don’t need anything else, then you can stop at this option.

Unfortunately, after the update, it ceased to be completely free - you will be forced to install certain applications every day or offer to pay a subscription of $ 2 per month. However, no one is stopping us from removing unnecessary programs immediately after installation, but as they say, the sediment remained ...

The test game Hay Day installed and launched without problems and synced perfectly with the facebook account. I didn’t have a desire to play, but there were no problems with this emulator before and I don’t think there will be now.

The main feature of Bluestacks TV is the ability to online broadcasts games on Twitch, I think this feature will be especially in demand by streamers and will help make reviews on android games easier than ever before.

Complex and demanding games also run without problems, but it feels slower than the same Andy or Nox App Player, so the choice is yours.

Droid4x - Gamer's Choice

I often saw the Droid4X emulator in the comments - so I decided to test it too. As it turned out, he has enough problems - this concerns stability, I constantly had problems during testing. However, it has a lot of useful and necessary functions, so we will not discount it.

Of course, I can not say that my computer is weak. (Core i5 and 24GB RAM, HD5870 graphics card), but the configuration is quite old by the standards of computers, but I did not notice any hints of brakes in games, everything is going very smoothly. There is a fly in the ointment, I could not launch Plants VS Zombie 2 - the game constantly crashed and under no circumstances did not want to start, there were some problems with the keyboard that resolved themselves. The most annoying thing is that the emulator just freezes completely several times in just half an hour of work, for sure it will be very annoying. Maybe I have these problems specifically - it is quite possible that everything will work stably for you, but, unfortunately, it did not suit me.

Of course, he also has a bright side - this concerns management. The fact is that it is already remarkably adapted to the familiar keyboard and mouse out of the box (swiping left or right, zooming in or out using the mouse wheel - this is all native and familiar to us for a long time).

Droid4X also allows you to bind computer keyboard buttons to relevant areas screen, this can be very useful for games, in my opinion this emulator was conceived for games - there were no problems with the Play Market.

In general, the verdict is a solid and productive Android emulator for a computer, but I have problems with it, I can’t say how it will be for you, try it.

You can download Droid4X on the official website http://www.droid4x.com/

Genymotion is the best for developers

The Genymotion emulator is very different from all the programs presented in today's list, it allows you to emulate not only Android itself, but a wide range of real-life devices. Works fast enough and is supported hardware acceleration graphics, which can not but rejoice. The Russian language is not provided here, so some users may have difficulty learning.

The audience of this emulator is not avid gamers, but most likely software developers, and I just couldn’t launch a lot of games. To get the desired program, we need to be sure to register on the site and we will become affordable opportunity download the distribution kit for personal use. I recommend using the version with VirtualBox - it's the first one on the list. A separate launch of VirtualBox is not needed - you launch Genymotion and it does everything without your intervention.

So, as I already wrote - there is an opportunity to choose the version of Android and the model of the real device, I don’t think it’s desired function for the average user, and developers will certainly be happy with such functionality. Click Next and the emulator automatically pulls everything from the Internet, we just have to make fine tuning applications.

In the configuration, we can choose the number of cores and the amount of RAM for the device, and we can also change the resolution - everything is only the most necessary.

Next, you need to select our newly created device in the list, and click "Play", in a couple of minutes the image of the system we have chosen will be ready for use. The capabilities of the emulator are well documented, but again, the language barrier can prevent you from working with the program.

You can download Genymotion as usual on the official website of the program https://www.genymotion.com/. This emulator also has a paid version with advanced functionality, but we are not interested, we are looking for the one that For Personal Use and rejoice.

Test results and my thoughts

Currently, there are a lot of android emulators, for almost every taste and color. I distributed them based on my subjective opinion and it is not necessarily the only true one - it is possible that for you, the presence of some functions will be decisive and then the favorite of this review will not be Nox App Player or Andy, but perhaps Bluestacks - he is the only one who can stream to Twitch out of the box , and the price of 2 bucks, in general, is rather symbolic and does not hit the pocket of a modern gamer much.
