Fine tuning

If the computer does not enter the standard web client menu, it is quite possible that the connection error with 192.168.1.1 is caused by an address conflict on the network. First of all, you will need to enter the control panel of the operating system and find the “Internet Properties” item there, which can also be called “Internet Options”. Then you need to open the "Connection" tab and at the bottom find the button that is responsible for the local network settings. In the dialog box that opens after clicking it, disable the use of proxies in regular local networks and VPNs.

However, it is not always possible to establish a connection with 192.168.0.1. You need to open the properties of the used network adapter- There are three main ways to enter this menu:

  • Through the "Network Control Center";
  • Through the control panel - the "Network Connections" tool;
  • Enter control netconnections on the command line.

Since the router has a web client address of 192.168.1.1 or an alternative 192.168.0.1, for the network to work correctly, an electronic computer must have a similar IP that differs only in the last digit. By right-clicking on the icon of the adapter you need, open its properties, in the dialog box that appears, select the IPv4 connection protocol and click on the "Properties" button again.

The general protocol parameters may contain an answer why the computer does not enter the standard menu of the router's web client. The IP may be different from what the router uses - to continue working you will need to change it using the same beginning as in 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1. The number at the end must be between 2 and 254 so as not to create an address conflict within the local network. Of course, the best option would be to set the address automatically based on the needs of the computer, but this feature is not supported by every network. Also, the computer sometimes does not enter the menu you need as a result of limiting the transmitted traffic within the created local network. Extreme measures

If the computer still does not enter the web client of the device, it is advisable to perform a complete reboot - for this, a small Reset button is used, which can be located at the back or at the bottom of the router case. It must be pressed with a long thin object (for example, a paper clip) and held for approximately 10-20 seconds, depending on the model of the wireless device. After full reset data, you can access all advanced device settings at the standard menu address 192.168.0.1, as well as an alternative combination of 192.168.1.1 - this is determined by the device model.

This method will also be effective if you have irretrievably lost data for accessing the web client or they have been changed by another person who received unauthorized access to the router settings menu. After the reboot, it is imperative to use the standard login and the preset password that is set by the hardware builder. Most often, you need to enter the word “admin” on both lines, but there are some exceptions. To accurately determine the correct login information for the standard web client, review the instructions for the device. Be careful, because after the reboot, all settings will have to be set again.

If, after resetting the router, the computer does not enter the settings menu at the menu address 192.168.0.1 or an alternative IP, try again using a different laptop or modern tablet. It is possible that the inability to access 192.168.1.1 is caused by incorrect setting network card or damage to it. In the first case, you should try to restore the drivers or use the proprietary distribution of the operating system from the developer of the smart machine. In the second case, you will have to change the wireless module.

The source of your problems may also be a malfunction of the router itself - usually the problem of the inability to access 192.168.1.1 is solved by a simple flashing wireless device. Remember that you can enter the web client menu without interference only if you download the software from a trusted source - it is best to use the resource global network or the file server of the router manufacturer itself. Also, the router does not enter the standard settings menu using the 192.168.0.1 combination and if the components are completely broken. How to get into the router interface

The router is an independent device that does not require additional drivers or other software to be installed on the PC. In fact, this is a small computer. It has a processor, RAM, and even an operating system.

The CD supplied by some manufacturers does not contain drivers. There is a utility on it, the purpose of which is to control the device through its own interface. The sequence of actions is the same as on a PC, the difference is in the method of connecting to the network. To connect to WiFi networks new access point, no password is required. If something doesn't work

If you do not go out to get into the settings, the sequence of actions depends on the problem that has arisen. The most common situations are when the computer does not “see” the connection at the router address (the page is not available in the browser) or it is impossible to enter the admin panel (incorrect username or password).

The page is not available

After entering the IP address, the browser does not enter the control panel page for the following reasons:

  1. Registered static IP. To check the address of the router, you need to know where the corresponding parameters are located. In Windows, you need to go to the "Network and Sharing Center".

In the next window, select your connection. You can manage the parameters by right-clicking on it, after which you need to select the "properties" item in the drop-down menu.

In the properties menu of the TCP / IPv4 protocol, select the option "Obtain an IP address automatically" and then click "ok". If any numbers have been entered in the address, subnet mask, and default gateway fields, write them down just in case.

Unable to login to admin panel

There is a situation when, after entering authorization data, the browser gives an error - “Invalid login / password”. To solve this problem, you can first experiment with the input. Any PC on the Internet receives a unique IP. The IPv4 protocol limit is estimated to be 4,294,967,296 machines. The conflict is almost out of the question. However, a new requirement is looming: the router must have a unique, externally visible identifier.

The network address is assigned by the owner. For example, the type of IP of the local network is often the following: 168.0.X

Having obtained a "white" address, connect from the outside using known numbers. There is only one problem: most providers re-assign after a reboot. Therefore, the current configuration should be closely monitored.

Standard variant

Remote access is pre-authorized. Here is a list of settings:

  • Login: Password.
  • Connection port. The provider sometimes blocks the most common attack ports. The ftp(21) service often suffers.
  • The IP address of the future administrator (or the total permission of all options by selecting the value 255.255.255.255).

After that, from anywhere in the world, opening a browser, typing the IP address of the router, setting (through a colon port) is able to connect for configuration.

2006 brought the second version of SSH to the world. New algorithms exploited the advantages of the Diffie-Hellman protocol. Now the admin could run several sessions in parallel. The idea was picked up by the RFC committee.

  1. Open a PuTTY terminal.
  2. Enter the router's IP address, port number.
  3. Take the trouble to set the path to the file (section Connection - SSH - Auth).
  4. Login required.
  5. If it doesn't enter, the key is rejected. Generate a new one, upload, download. You should check the path of the folder where the key files are located.
