preinstalled android apps. Removing system apps on android

Number of companies issuing Android devices is constantly increasing. A couple of years ago, no one heard of manufacturers such as Xiaomi or Leco. And today they are starting to compete with such giants as Samsung and Lenovo. The competition is also in the development of applications for their devices so that users can take advantage of all the features of their devices. That is why when buying a new phone or tablet, it turns out to be almost completely filled with different programs, they are also called system or stock ones. Whether they are needed or just take up free space, it's up to you. But if you still decide not to desired programs, and at the same time clean it to speed up the work, then we will tell you how to remove pre-installed applications on Android.

What applications can be removed?

There is no single list of programs that can be safely removed without harming the system, so everyone must determine for himself which ones are not needed. We offer a list of basic programs and those elements, the removal of which will not harm the operation of an android device, such as Google maps.

List of programs:

  • Voice search or dialing;
  • Help and support from the manufacturer;
  • Standard mail client or browser (Internet);
  • Unused video, audio players;
  • Not needed Google services(Maps, Gmail, Gtalk, etc.);
  • All kinds of games, books, etc.

In no case, do not randomly delete applications or a file that you do not like, this can lead to a failure of the entire system! Any application is a file with the apk extension. It is this file that should be deleted. If available, you also need to delete files with the .odex extension. Then this procedure can be considered performed correctly.

This is what the system file itself looks like:

And here is a list of possible system applications to remove:

  • AccuweatherWidget.apk - weather widget;
  • AnalogClock.apk - analog clock widget;
  • BlueSea.apk , Aurora.apk etc. – all kinds of live wallpapers;
  • ChatON_MARKET.apk - chat from Samsung;
  • Encrypt.apk - encryption of a memory card;
  • Geniewidget.apk - news widget;
  • GooglePartnerSetup.apk - another social program Google;
  • Kobo.apk - magazines;
  • Layar-samsung.apk - augmented reality browser;
  • MobilePrint.apk - remote printing of documents;
  • PlusOne.apk - one more social service from Google;
  • Samsung Widget* - different types widgets from developers from Samsung;
  • VideoEditor.apk - video editor;
  • Voice*.apk - programs for working with voice;
  • Zinio.apk - Internet magazines.

How to remove unnecessary pre-installed applications?

Removing standard programs without root rights, that is, manually, is carried out in the usual way. Choose "settings", Further "applications". Activate the required, and click delete.

There's nothing complicated here. Difficulties usually arise when deletion is not possible, or an error pops up during the operation. Then you need to use special programs or just turn it off (for more details, see our video).

  1. We use ES Explorer.

We already wrote about where to download and how to use it. In the framework of this material, we will talk specifically about deleting on android.

After starting the explorer, scroll to the right or click at the top of the window, depending on the version, to open the menu. In it, you need to find and activate the "Root Explorer" in order to obtain the rights to remove preinstalled programs. It is usually located in the "resources" section.

Now it is possible to proceed to the removal procedure itself. On the Android system, pre-installed applications are located on internal memory in the "system/app" folder. Highlight the desired file with a touch and click delete.

Some of them download their updated version additionally to the “data/app” folder. We recommend that you check for the presence of the program to be removed there as well.

More fast way, is to uninstall files from the "system" menu section. It is located in the initial menu, tab "APPS".

  1. We use CCleaner.

We have already published instructions for installing and working with c. To remove pre-installed programs, run cleaner and enter the main menu. We are interested in the "system" tab. We select it.

In the window that opens, there will be a list of all programs available for removal. You do not have to look for where exactly the applications are located. Removal is carried out automatically, literally with a couple of clicks (before deletion, the cleaner will ask). And then, he will reboot your device, for the correct completion of the work.

  1. Remove pre-installed programs using titanium backup.

In this video, we offer you a visual instruction of another way to remove system applications on android.

We note once again that if you are not sure about the purpose of a particular program, it is better not to delete it. We hope that this material was useful to you. If you have any questions, ask them in the comments. We will try to help.

  1. Next, select the application you want to disable.
  1. If this program supports disable function, you will see the corresponding button. Just click it.
  1. Next, in the pop-up menu, select the item marked in the screenshot.
  1. Programs disabled in this way are not removed: they simply stop until you start them yourself.

Attention! When you disable the standard software in the described way, the updates that were installed on it will be automatically deleted.

Program "Remove system applications"

Next, we move on to using third-party software. The first app on our list will be Uninstall System Apps. You can download it at Play Store which is exactly what we are going to do now.

  1. Let's go to the store android applications and write to search line the name of the program. As soon as the desired result appears in the output, click on it.
  1. Install the program by tapping on the button marked in the screenshot.
  1. We allow access to the location, work with multimedia, Wi-Fi and other functions.
  1. The download of the program we need will begin. Since its size is small, it will not take much time.
  1. So, the download is complete, so let's go directly to working with the application.
  1. At the first start, we will need to provide the very Root rights that were mentioned in the introductory part of the article. Click the button marked in the screenshot.
  1. A list of all applications will open, including system ones. We tick those that we want to delete and press the button marked with the number "2".
  1. We will be warned that we have highlighted applications that are important for the operation of the system. Think thrice if you see this message. In our case, everything is correct, so click "Yes".
  1. The removal process will be completed in a matter of moments.

Ready. The program will disappear from your smartphone at the same moment.

Consider another option, which, if something differs from the first, only appearance. We will also download the program from the Play Market.

  1. We begin to write the name of the utility in the search line of the Google store and, as soon as our program appears in search results, tap on it.
  1. Next, press the familiar green button.
  1. We allow Easy Uninstaller all the required permissions.
  1. We are waiting for 5 MB to be downloaded from the network and installed on our Android.
  1. Let's go to home screen and we see here a new label in the form of a trash can. He is exactly what we need.
  1. In the list of programs available for removal, mark one or more positions and press the button marked with the number "2".
  1. Once again we confirm our intentions by clicking on "OK".

That's all. The application or applications will silently disappear so as not to burden our phone any more.

CCleaner

Here is another interesting option. Surely, few of you knew that the well-known program for cleaning the disk and drive of the phone is able to remove pre-installed applications. However, it is. Below we will show how it works.

  1. In the same way as in previous cases, we are looking for an application in the Play Market.
  1. We install it by pressing a familiar button.
  1. We are waiting for the download of all the files necessary for CCleaner to work.
  1. We start our cleaner. Today he will act as an uninstaller.
  1. So, when the program opens, go to its main menu. To do this, click the button with the image of three horizontal stripes (marked in the screenshot below).
  1. In the menu that pops up from the left side, click on the "Application Manager" item.
  1. A list of installed and system software will open. To start the removal procedure, click on the trash can icon.
  1. And again, we are warned that if we thoughtlessly “demolish” regular software, we can easily “kill” our operating system, which, unlike a computer, is not so easy to fix. If you understand this, you can continue. Click the button circled in the picture.
  1. We mark the programs or games to be uninstalled and tap on the "Delete" button (marked with the number "2").

After that, the program, game or their combination will be removed from Android.

Through the file manager

This option for removing unnecessary applications from Android is different from the above. Here we will do everything ourselves, while the previously described uninstaller programs worked automatically. So let's get started.

  1. We will use one of the best file managers. This is ES Explorer. Let's download it using Google Play.
  1. Click the button labeled "Install".
  1. We allow the application all types of access that it needs for full-fledged work.
  1. The program is downloading. Since it "weighs" a little more than 10 MB, it will not take you much time.

The application is installed and ready to go. Next, we will look at how to remove standard programs. Run the tool.

  1. Open the main menu of ES File Explorer. We marked it in the picture below.
  1. Now we need to allow our file manager work with components operating system. To do this, enable the "Root Explorer" function using the trigger marked in the screenshot.
  1. Naturally, in this case, we will need to grant Root-rights to the program.
  1. When access to the firmware files is allowed, we return to main screen ES Explorer and go to the menu.
  1. Next, we need to go to the "Device" directory. This is our file system, and not the file system of the drive, but system disk or firmware.
  1. So, in order to uninstall the same application, you need to erase files from several places. Let's visit the first one first. Go to the "system" directory.
  1. Then open the "app" folder.
  1. On Android 5 and above, you'll see app folders. They contain APK files. In more early versions operating system, they will be here without directories. One way or another, we need to remove the selected application with or without a folder. To do this, click on the object and hold it until the button marked with the number "2" appears.

We confirm our action with a tap on "OK".

So, we cleared the first path, we move on to the second.

  1. We return to the root directory of the firmware and go to "data".
  1. Then we open the "app" directory and "demolish" here all traces of an unnecessary program.
  1. Again we go to "data".
  1. We go to the directory marked in the picture below, and delete the data of the unnecessary program from here as well.

That's all. The method is one of the most complex and dangerous for the OS. We recommend using it only for people who are well versed in the topic.

We are smoothly moving on to another option for deleting pre-installed Android applications. This time it will be another utility called Root Uninstaller. Let's see how to work with it.

  1. In the old manner, go to the Play Store and write the name of the tool in the search bar. When the desired object appears in the search results, tap on its icon.
  1. Click the button marked in the screenshot.
  1. We are waiting for the installation of all the necessary files to complete.
  1. Go to the home screen or menu and select the app you just downloaded.
  1. As in other cases, we will need to provide access to the files of the operating system. V otherwise nothing will come of it.
  1. When the program opens, we will see a list of all third-party and standard applications and also, if any, games. Tap on the one to be deleted.
  1. An additional menu will open with several options.

Designation of various buttons:

  • Freeze. The application or game is blocked: it does not take RAM and do not load the processor. However, the space occupied on the disk is not freed up and the program is not deleted;
  • Delete. The application is completely removed from Android;
  • Backup. A backup copy is created, which, in case of failures, will help correct the situation and restore what you deleted;
  • Reset. The software is cleared of all updates and data received in the process of work.

There is also a series additional features not very important to us.

  1. As soon as we click the delete button, a warning will follow in which we will need to confirm the action taken. In order to do this, click "OK".

Attention! To preserve data and guarantee stable operation of the system, be sure to use the toolkit before removing each program. Reserve copy!

By the name of this program, it is clear that its operation requires superuser rights, although they are required for our entire list. So, let's look at how to work with Root App Deleter in more detail.

  1. The first thing we need to do is download the application to the phone. To do this, we use the Google Play store. Enter the name of the program in the search field and select the desired result from the search results.
  1. On the home page of Root App Deleter, click the familiar button labeled "Install".
  1. The program "weighs" only 700 kilobytes. This is very small, especially compared to competitors.
  1. So, the list of uninstallers is replenished with a red icon, click on it.
  1. There are several tiles in the main menu of our application. We will work with the uninstaller. Click on the item marked in the screenshot.
  1. Next, we will be prompted to choose one of the modes for uninstalling programs. This may be a beginner, in which a backup copy of existing software is automatically created before deletion. There is also an expert mode in which programs are removed immediately and permanently. Choose the algorithm that suits you.
  1. As a result, a list of programs available for removal will appear. We will uninstall the most unnecessary of them. At least in our opinion. Click on the application name.
  1. Since this is a beginner mode, there is no delete button, but there is a shutdown. So we can test the operation of the system and, if everything is fine, we will remove the software completely in expert mode.
  1. As in other cases, Root-rights cannot be dispensed with. Tap on "Give".

Ready. The program is disabled and no longer consumes phone resources.

Titanium Backup

Next up is the famous backup app. Among other things, the tool can remove any software, and if SuperUser is available, even system software. So let's figure out how to work with it.

  1. So, go to Google Play and look for Titanium Backup there. The main thing is to find exactly the Root version. Otherwise, nothing will work. See screenshot attached below.

buy new smartphone, turn it on, and there is already a bunch of unnecessary programs. It can be difficult to understand what these applications are for and whether they can be safely removed or disabled. When I purchased, out of 32 gigabytes of internal memory, about ten were free. The rest of the space was occupied by pre-installed programs.

In this article I will tell you which applications can be disabled on Android without any consequences. I will not consider the removal of system software, because in most cases this requires root access. If you decide to get root, the Debloater program will easily cope with the removal task. You can download it on the play store or w3bsit3-dns.com.

I collected device data samsung galaxy(since I own one of them) to a summary table of applications that do not affect the phone's performance (with a description). And you decide what to do with them. But disabling or removing unnecessary junk will help increase the speed of your mobile phone.

I draw your attention to the fact that if you click the "stop" button, the program may subsequently restart automatically. And if you "disable" it does not restart until you turn it on manually. Some cannot be disabled or removed.

"Mordokniga" pays smartphone manufacturers to sew the application into the firmware. Mobile client allows you to keep abreast of the events of your friends all the time, track likes, and annoyingly notifies you about every sneeze. At the same time, he eats a lot of resources and continuously drains the battery. Unfortunately, in my Samsung this infection is not removed. But it can be turned off, which I immediately did, since I don’t use this social network at all. If there is a special need, I can temporarily activate the application.

Weather apps

A weather widget is also often built into the phone's operating system. It worked for me for 3 months, and then stopped updating the data. From this program, I always need only two parameters: air temperature and precipitation. If you need meteorological maps and other little things, then you do not need to uninstall the program. In other cases, it is desirable to get rid of an unnecessary gluttonous application that tries to connect to the server every minute. I couldn't do it on the A5.

You can always check the weather by looking out the window. And if you need a forecast, Google is a good predictor.

Antivirus programs

You need an antivirus if your phone is rooted, you are constantly experimenting and installing dubious hacked applications from unknown sources. Otherwise, such protection is not required. The antivirus will also eat up memory and slow down the system unnecessarily.

If you have any suspicions, install an antivirus and, after checking, remove it. My phone has a built-in one that I also disabled.

Clean Master and other system optimizers

Software for "accelerating" the phone, contrary to expectations, slows down the device. Miracles do not happen, despite the assurances of the developers of these programs. Most "purifiers" only harm. On my Samsung A5 2017, there is an “Optimization” section in the settings, where everything happens at the touch of a button. Most phones have tools to clear the cache and leftover software. AND additional programs installation is not required.

default browser

Almost every self-respecting phone manufacturer develops and implements its own Internet browser into the firmware. It may contain spyware or sponsored links. But even if they are not there, this does not mean that the browser is good. Disable it or delete it.

Best to install Google Chrome- simple and fast browser. If you care about privacy and don't want to litter your phone space with accumulating cache, Firefox Focus is your choice, private browser leaving no trace.

For the rest of the applications, I compiled a small table. Here is everything that can be disabled without consequences for the operation of Android.

A note about updates

Suppose you did not turn off anything - let them work for themselves. Automatic shutdown background applications helps to avoid rapid battery discharge. But these programs are still being updated! And in this case, they devour not RAM, but internal. Therefore, I went ahead and disabled auto-updates through the Play Store. I regularly manually update only those applications that I actually use.

Smartphones with pre-installed Android operating system are in great demand. This is explained by their availability and wide possibilities in choosing the visualization of the device. However, manufacturers of such gadgets began to “stuff” them with the most various programs, which take up a lot of memory. Therefore, users have to figure out which applications can be deleted on Android.

Very often, mobile device owners come to service center with the problem of lack system memory for recording photos, videos and other useful content. It is important for them to know which applications can be disabled on Android, and which ones are better left, as they perform important functions. But in fact, the list of really necessary things on every Android device is small.

Everything else is of little value, and besides, most of the applications can be installed directly from the store or not used at all. However, it is difficult to imagine modern mobile device, which is produced in this form, with 4 main programs.

Budget models of smartphones, where there is no powerful technical "stuffing", are always distinguished by dozens or even hundreds of pre-installed applications, as their manufacturers are trying to make money by any available methods. Representatives of the more expensive segment try to avoid such a strategy, but they act differently - they put branded software on the device, which is characterized by an expensive subscription. This approach allows you to argue the exorbitant cost of the device, and is also a good marketing tool.

Based on the above, if desired, remove unnecessary applications on Android (the list of such files varies depending on the model and price category device), no need to be shy. Absolutely all programs that are not something useful for the user are subject to removal.

And although many are afraid that after such a procedure their phone will become a "brick" - this is a deep delusion. After all, it is impossible to disable the device by simply removing unnecessary software.. And if you want to return your favorite game, messenger or client to your smartphone social network just go to the Google Play store and enter the desired name in the search.

There are also software ways fight against unnecessary applications. They can be downloaded from the app store or found on Google. Among the most popular utilities that provide quick uninstallation of pre-installed content are:

  1. ZdmDaemon.
  2. ApplicationsProvider.
  3. SharedStorageBackup.

Differences in removal methods

Principle of operation and architecture of the operating room Android systems are the same on all devices, from budget models to the flagships of the market. But when figuring out which files can be deleted from Android, one should take into account the fact that the methods for uninstalling on different devices noticeably different. It all depends on the manufacturer's policy, as well as the firmware version.

Nevertheless, a lot of pre-installed software is easily removed in a few taps on the screen in the standard way. To do this, you need to touch the program icon and hold it until a cross, an urn icon or the inscription: “Delete” appears on top. It remains to confirm your decision, and that's it - the problem is solved.

But with certain models of smartphones, this trick will not work. For example, in ASUS, LG, Samsung devices, simply moving the icon to the urn does not give the expected results, and the user has to search special function"Uninstall / disable the program." Only then will it be destroyed.

Most latest smartphones from Samsung, especially models of the Galaxy series, work according to a different principle (by the way, the dsmlawmo program may be present in the root folder of the smartphone, which cannot be removed). To successfully remove a system APK file like badgeprovider, rebootandwritesys or zsprovider, it is important to follow these instructions.

  1. The finger is held on the icon of the program until such time as it appears above it. context menu(exactly the same as on computers when you press the right mouse button).
  2. In the open list, select the item to uninstall the program and confirm your choice.

But the user of an Android device must understand that not all standard programs can be removed. And this is not due to the fact that these utilities are indispensable for the normal operation of the gadget, but only with the desire of the marketing company to earn the maximum amount of money from the user's time spent. In this case, you have to use more radical methods uninstalling unnecessary software.

The easiest way out of the situation is to disable the application. If there is no delete option when holding the icon, you should go to the smartphone settings, and then select the "Disable" function.

When deep cleaning non-removable applications, you can visit the Google Play app store and type in the desired name in the search bar. It is not excluded that the program will first ask the user for permission to upgrade to new version and only then will it be uninstalled.

Rooted files

Probably the average Android user-smartphone have ever heard of such a thing as Root-rights. But what it is and what role it plays in the system, only a few know. Having access to Root, the user becomes the main manager of the device and can perform any customization manipulations. These are the possibilities:

Companies that release smartphones for sale literally cannot stand such amateur activity, therefore they are trying by any means to limit users from the possibility Root settings. But this does not stop true enthusiasts who continue to create everything that can be imagined with their device.

There is an opinion that after manually flashing a smartphone, it loses its warranty, but this is not so. The manufacturer does not have the right to refuse to the client in the warranty repair or maintenance of the hardware in the presence of non-standard firmware. But if the device cannot turn on due to an incorrectly configured OS, this is already a user problem.

Very often, dubious root-requesting software installs malicious utilities on the smartphone that lead to the loss of valuable data or make the phone “dead”. To return it to its previous performance, you will have to perform a deep flashing of the system from a computer. Knowing these risks, you need to think carefully before proceeding with using Root.

Instruction for beginners

As for working with Root rights, it does not require any special skills. Just download right tool eg Sharedstoragebackup, FotaReboot, wssyncmlnps etc and then follow established instruction. Detailed guide for installing Root-rights may look like this:

In order for the program to be able to access the smartphone settings, you must confirm the request for root rights. Agreeing with the system warnings, you should click on the "Backups" item. After that, absolutely all files and applications of the operating system will be displayed on the screen. It remains to decide which tool is really needed, and which one just takes up useful space in the root storage.

For example, it is strictly forbidden to remove the “Application Installer” tool, because it is responsible for the normal installation of applications on a smartphone. But with all sorts of Hangouts, Google Photos, Gmail, Clean Master, etc., you can act differently. Among the unnecessary applications are various additional browsers, video players, cloud storage, instant messengers, etc.

But before proceeding with a deep cleaning of the smartphone’s memory from such software garbage, it is important to do backup or backup. Such an item is available in the main window of the used tool with Root settings. The procedure will return remote application in case of error.

But do not hope that after the complete destruction of unnecessary files in the smartphone there will be much more memory. System files always occupy a fixed place in the root storage, so such actions will only save the device from unnecessary content.

"Heavy" content

Very often, smartphone users are faced with the problem of quickly discharging their device. And the first thing everyone rushes to the service center with the desire to replace the battery, but this can be a waste of money. After all, the reason for the rapid consumption of energy can be "heavy" applications that take up a lot of disk space and also work in the background.

Take the world famous Facebook client as an example. Its size sometimes exceeds several hundred megabytes, and this is an impressive figure even for devices with large internal storage. In addition to the large volume, the program devours a lot of RAM memory, and also causes a quick discharge of the phone or tablet battery.

In order to reduce battery consumption, software developers have even released a simplified version of the application called Facebook Lite. It comes in free mode and takes up very little space in the root storage. Therefore, the user android is better"demolish" the official client, replacing it with a simplified version.

Among the resource-intensive programs is Instagram. The tool is forced to work with large quantity images, pictures and video files, so it not only drains the battery, but also exhausts Internet traffic faster. Incidentally, the cost network resources Instagram is much higher than YouTube. But unlike the previous application, there are no good analogues here that take up little disk space. Therefore, owners of budget Android smartphones with limited technical parameters it is better to stop using this social network or get by with the browser version.

WhatsApp messenger also “devours” an impressive amount of system memory. But this problem is also present in other messengers, including Viber, Telegram, Facebook and others. Of course, it is not advisable to refuse to communicate with relatives and friends by uninstalling the program, but if it is possible to install a less expensive tool, it is better to consider just such an option.

Antivirus tools

Standard antivirus programs for Android also take up a lot of space in the system. And often they are practically meaningless, because they do not represent effective remedy to clean your device of malware. Theoretically, such utilities are designed to protect your smartphone, but in practice they are powerless against serious viruses.

In fact, the user himself is responsible for his actions, and if he downloads dubious software ignoring recommendations antivirus program- Responsibility lies only on him.

There are many programs and large files, which represent unnecessary garbage and seriously degrade system performance. If you remove them, the smartphone will work much faster, and battery consumption will be noticeably reduced.

Any Android smartphone has a large number of pre-installed applications, many of which we never use. Initially, they do not take up space in the application memory, but after automatic updates, it sometimes even comes to the point that updates to pre-installed applications clog up all the memory and prevent the installation of any new applications. In addition, most of the pre-installed applications have a constantly running resident part, which slows down the smartphone and consumes battery power.

Today I will tell you how to quickly and easily get rid of unnecessary applications and free up memory.

Pre-installed applications cannot be removed by standard means, but you can disable them, remembering to uninstall updates. Once disabled, applications will disappear from the menu and will not consume system resources.

So, go to "Settings-Applications" and look for candidates for removal. In the "downloaded" tab there will be those of the pre-installed applications for which Android has installed updates.

We click on the application. First of all, click on the "Uninstall Updates" button.

We agree to the proposal to replace the updated application with the original version.

Then click "Turn off" and confirm your action.

Click "Stop" to unload the application from memory (if this is not done, it will work until the reboot).

We do this with all unnecessary applications. Next, go to the "All" tab.

Here you can see those applications that have not been updated. Simply turn off and stop everything that you do not need. This tab also contains important system applications, so disable only what you are absolutely sure of.

I always disable the following apps:

Drive (Google drive)
Maps (Google Maps)
News and weather
Google calendar sync
Movies (Google Movies)
Email
gmail
Google Keep
Google Play Press
Google Play Movies
Google+
Hangouts
Play Books
Play Music

Of course, if you use any of the applications from this list, you do not need to disable them.

In order for Android not to install updates for everything, it is better to turn off auto-update: launch the "Play Store" and click on the three bars in the upper left corner.

We go to the settings. "Auto-update apps - never"

At the same time, turn off "Notifications about updates".

It's that simple, fast and standard means you can make your smartphone work faster, the application memory lasts longer and the battery lasts for a longer time.
