Speeding up windows 10 laptop. How to properly overclock the processor on a laptop

The relatively new operating system Windows 10 is gaining popularity. And even for those users whose computers are not particularly productive. That is why the question has become relevant Windows optimizations 10. Microsoft is constantly improving its operating systems and each time makes their settings more and more flexible. Their correct configuration, together with the use of third-party software, will allow us to achieve maximum performance even on not the newest PCs. Optimizing any operating system, including Windows 10, is a complex process that requires the right, consistent approach. Setting up and optimizing Windows 10 will be described in detail in this article.

How to speed up your computer on Windows 10 with an update

"Ten" appeared quite recently. It is clear that initially it was rather "raw", but the developers are constantly working on their product and releasing updates that make the system more productive, more reliable and safer.

Driver update

This method significantly increases the performance of the computer. It is especially important to update the drivers of all devices after updating Windows from 7 to version 10, and not after a “clean” installation. Many drivers are suitable for both operating systems, but some may cause difficulties, up to the termination of the device. For example, your sound card may completely stop working.

Here are a few signs by which you can understand that some drivers do not work as they should, or do not work at all:

  • keyboard multimedia keys do not function;
  • the screen brightness on the laptop has ceased to be adjusted;
  • part of the system settings has disappeared;
  • display resolution changed;
  • Auxiliary mouse buttons no longer work.

Apps to automatically update drivers

It is not always convenient to search for drivers manually. Firstly, we have no confidence in the reliability of the resource on which the download will be carried out, and secondly, it is good if there is only one driver: if there are 10 of them, then the update may take a long time.

Consider a few programs that facilitate the process:

  • Driver Pack Solution. The main advantage of this utility is the ability to update even without connecting to the network (offline version). The application scans your PC and then provides a list of drivers that need to be installed or updated. During the update, an informative progress bar is displayed, which shows how much is left until the end of the update. When the process is completed, the computer will require a reboot and the new drivers will take effect;

Download DriverPack Solution
  • driver booster. This program has no disadvantages other than its cost. In all other respects, this is a combination of advantages: the work is carried out quickly and efficiently, and there is no chance of downloading an erroneous driver. Just like Driver Pack Solution, the application scans the system and installs new driver versions. Before you start making changes to Windows, backup, so that its state can be easily returned to its original position;

Download Driver Booster
  • Slim Drivers. An important advantage of this program is driver scanning. It can even find software that was missed by previous utilities. The check of all devices is impressive and fast in general (it took about 30 seconds for us).

Download Slim Drivers

This is one of highlights in work to improve the performance of Windows 10. "Ten" is designed in such a way that after receiving updates, it begins to "distribute" them to other PCs, respectively, we spend the speed of the disk subsystem, speed CPU and the Internet. The distribution of updates using torrent technology works, and the archives with updates that have already been unpacked and installed are stored on the computer's disk, taking up extra space.

In order to disable the distribution of updates, do the following:

  1. Opening the menu Windows settings 10 (you can find through the search).

  1. Go to the "Update and Security" section.

  1. In the left part of the window, click on the inscription, which we marked with a red rectangle, and in the right - "Advanced options".

  1. Scroll down the contents of the silent window and select the item indicated in the screenshot.

  1. It remains only to switch the trigger to the "Off" position. Ready. System updates will be downloaded, installed and removed immediately.

Speed up by disabling OneDrive

Microsoft has tightly linked OneDrive cloud storage and the tenth version of its operating system. This is a very useful service that automatically synchronizes any of your data with its server and allows you to restore them at any time. But if this technology you don't need it, you can safely turn off the cloud and thus save some more traffic and CPU processing power.

There are two ways disable OneDrive. While the former simply disables the program, the latter completely removes it from the PC. For example, if you are still interested in storage, but do not have time to deal with it yet, you can turn off the cloud and try again later. If there are no plans to work with OneDrive at all, then feel free to delete the program.

Disable OneDrive in Windows 10

In order to remove OneDrive cloud storage, you need to call the context menu by right-clicking on the cloud located in the system tray.

Select the "Settings" item.

Go to the "Options" tab and remove both icons from the items indicated in the screenshot. Then click "OK".

Again, click on the cloud in the Windows 10 tray with the right mouse button and click on the "Exit" item.

After that, the cloud from Microsoft will be turned off and will not disturb you with its presence.

Delete completely

This method will erase all cloud files, and it will be possible to restore it only by downloading the program again.

  1. To remove OneDrive from a PC, we need the command line. You need to run it as administrator. Let's use search engine Windows 10 (icon on the left side of the taskbar). Enter the word "cmd" in the search field, click on the result right click manipulator and select "Run as administrator".

taskkill /f /im OneDrive.exe

We kill the system process.

\%SystemRoot%\SysWOW64\OneDriveSetup.exe /uninstall

We launch the standard utility for deactivating OneDrive. If you have an x86 system, then we write:

%SystemRoot%\System32\OneDriveSetup.exe /uninstall

rd "%UserProfile%\OneDrive" /Q /S

Delete the directory with user settings.

rd "%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\OneDrive" /Q /S

Delete the system settings directory associated with the cloud.

rd “%ProgramData%\Microsoft OneDrive” /Q /S

We erase the remains in ProgramData.

rd “C:\OneDriveTemp” /Q /S

Clean up temporary files.

This algorithm may not work on all PCs. It is worth using it selectively - try whether it will work for you. At least you won't do any harm to the disabled OneDrive.

Disable sending reports

Why do we need such reports? The fact is that in order to improve the system, developers take into account information about the errors of all users and, on its basis, create updates that correct the situation. This feature can be disabled. This will not only save you from annoying alerts, but also speed up Windows a bit. In the article on, we described how to disable the sending of such reports during installation. Now let's see how to do this on a running system.

Follow our instructions:

  1. Open the system settings - you can do this through the notification panel. Click on the notification icon in the system tray and select the "All Settings" button.

  1. Go to the "Privacy" section.

  1. In the left part of the window we find “Reviews and diagnostics”, and in the right part we disable the trigger indicated in the screenshot.

After that, system performance data will not be sent to Microsoft.

Turn off background tasks to improve performance

Windows has applications and their background processes that load the hardware even when the program itself is not running. For example, the same Xbox, which users do not need from the word "absolutely". Nevertheless, the program works and takes some of the RAM and CPU speed from the PC. Let's restore justice and turn off unnecessary processes working in the background.

We do the following:

  1. Open the computer settings through Windows search 10 in the way indicated in the screenshot.

  1. Click on the tile that says "Privacy".

  1. On the left, click "Background Applications", and on the right, we can individually disable programs we don't need or deactivate them all at once.

Note: the applications themselves will not stop working. The background service that is responsible for quick launch and receive notifications.

Optimizing hard disk performance

Hard drive status monitoring was relevant in all versions of Windows. Windows 10 introduces new, improved storage behaviors, including full SSD support ( solid state drives on microchips). Accordingly, after the increase in the speed of the hard drive, the boot time of the system decreases and its performance as a whole increases. By default, the HDD is defragmented once a week or a month (SSD cannot be defragmented), but it is better to disable automatic mode and do the process yourself.

To do this, we will take the following steps:

  1. We open windows explorer and right-click on the disk we need. Select "Properties".

  1. Go to the "Tools" menu and press the button labeled "Optimize".

  1. The "Optimize" button is needed to start the defragmentation process.

  1. Let's disable the defrag scheduler. To do this, click "Change settings".

  1. In the window that opens, uncheck the boxes next to "Run as scheduled" and "Notify me if three scheduled runs are missed in a row."

Speed up work by disabling unnecessary services

Disabling unnecessary background processes in optimizing Windows 10 for gaming and more is a critical component. As soon as the operating system starts, a lot of services start working with it. Many of them are important for the OS, but there are some that waste CPU performance in vain.

It's simple - the developers decided not to cheat, they provided users with a full set of services on the principle of "some, but useful." We are not going to put up with this state of affairs and will disable those processes that we do not need at all. In order to configure the services as we need, we right-click on the "Start" button. In the new menu, select the "Computer Management" section.

What services can be disabled in Windows 10

But what services can be disabled - you ask. Do not rush, we will tell you everything in order. Initially, it will be useful to create a system restore point. If something goes wrong, you can always undo the changes.

Here is a list of services that can be disabled:

  • printer manager (if you are not going to print);
  • windows search. Can be disabled if you do not need search (the service requires a lot of system resources);
  • Windows Update. Updates can be installed manually - this way you will save PC performance;
  • application services. Many programs, such as Google Chrome keep the service running even after they themselves are closed. This service is needed for automatic update and accelerated launch of programs.

Note: The list may vary depending on the hardware and OS version you are using. For example, if the printer is not connected, then there is no need for a print service.

Registry optimization

The Windows operating system, due to the specifics of its work, constantly accumulates in the registry various information, sometimes even erroneous, and this gradually slows down. Since the "Ten" is a fairly new OS, users have not yet been able to fully feel all the hardships that 2-3 years of work lead to without reinstalling.

The registry needs to be defragmented and cleaned of unnecessary entries. For this we need additional programs. There is another way - manual. To do this, the system tool "regedit" is launched and an experienced user makes changes to the registry by finding the desired directory and key. This may be necessary, for example, when a driver was installed incorrectly and because of this it is impossible to install a new one. That's when you have to manually clean the remnants of the old software.

Consider several applications that can cope with the task of cleaning the system registry:

Download Reg Organizer
  • CCleaner. A completely free tool not only to optimize the registry, but also to clean the system as a whole. The program has many features clear interface and quality of work;

Download CCleaner
  • Windows Cleaner. Cleans the system of junk and scans the registry for errors. It is completely free.

Download Windows Cleaner

Some applications, after they are installed, are registered in the system startup and are included with Windows during the next startup. As a result, a program that we do not need today can hang running all day and consume a large number of random access memory. To prevent this from happening, you need to edit the startup list.

  1. Go to the "Startup" tab and see what we have here. To disable unnecessary program, highlight it, and click the Disable button.

As a result, the program will no longer start with Windows.

Attention! If you are not sure about the purpose of this or that application, before turning it off, use the regular function and read the information on the Internet.

Autostart of programs is carried out not only from the "Startup" folder. Applications can also be registered in the registry. In order to remove them from there, you need to use a special software, which we will discuss below.

Startup Applications

It is much more convenient to work with autorun through specialized software. A very handy tool is AIDA 64. In general, it is needed to obtain detailed information about the PC and its optimization, but there is also handy tool to work with autoload.

Another good way fix the autoload list - this is the CCleaner we described. In order to use it, go to the "Service" tab and select "Startup". Here you can not only disable programs, but also delete them.

Microsoft has released its own tool for editing the list of applications loaded with the system. It's called Autoruns. The program is delivered in an archive, where there are 32 and 64-bit versions that do not require installation. Autoruns features the highest functionality among competitors. Here you can even remove background processes from autorun that are registered in the registry.

Task Scheduler

Some programs in the operating room Windows system can only be triggered by a specific event. That is why we will touch on the task scheduler.

You can access the utility integrated into the system as follows:

  1. We open the "Administration" program by typing its name in the search for "Tens".

  1. We launch the "Task Scheduler".

  1. We follow the path indicated on the left side of the planner. Here are the upcoming events. If necessary, they can be disabled by opening the context menu.

Be careful when uninstalling programs. You can easily harm the system by disabling the desired service.

Working with the speed of Windows 10

The creators of Windows took into account all preferences when developing the system and gave users a toolkit that allows you to customize visual design Windows and, accordingly, change the demands on resources.

We do the following:

  1. Right-click on the Start icon and select System.

  1. Next - the item "Information about the system".

  1. Go to the "Advanced system settings" menu.

  1. In the "Advanced" tab, press the "Options" button.

  1. Next, simply switch the trigger to the "Ensure the best performance" position and click "OK".

After that, all animations, effects and other prettiness will be disabled, which will significantly save the use of RAM and CPU resources.

We clean the hard drive from debris

The performance and free space on the hard disk can drop due to the so-called junk files that accumulate during the operation of the system. Windows 10 optimization includes deleting such files and cleaning up the disk. In this case, you can use both standard Windows tools and third-party software.

Ten has a Disk Cleanup tool, which we will now try. In order to run it and start cleaning the hard drive, do the following:

  1. Open Windows Explorer and click on desired disk right mouse button. In the opened context menu select "Properties".

  1. In the next window, press the button labeled "Disk Cleanup".

  1. In the next step, check the items that should be cleaned up and click on "Clean up system files".

After that, the cleaning process will begin. Be sure to save all data and close running programs.

How to speed up work with proper defragmentation

defragmentation magnetic media is an essential part of improving the speed of the system. There are several ways to do this. First, it is worth noting the built-in features.

The following course of action is envisaged:

  1. Open the explorer and right-click on the desired disk. In the menu that opens, we need the item "Properties".

  1. In the window that opens, select the "Service" tab and click "Optimize".

  1. Here you can see how fragmented the disk is. In our case, everything is fine, since automatic optimization works, which defragments once a week.

  1. To start optimization, click the "Optimize" button, and if you want to set the automatic mode, then click on "Change settings".

If, as in our case, the percentage of fragmentation is 0 - 15%, then no work needs to be done. If more, then you can optimize the disk. It is important to remember that for the utility to work, you need to have as much free disk space as the most big file On him. In time, the process can take from 5 minutes to several hours. It all depends on the degree of clutter of the carrier.

It is strictly forbidden to use a defragmenter for SSD drives. Instead of benefit, you will only get dozens of times more wear and tear, which in the end will lead to quick damage to the device.

Defragmentation using third-party programs

built-in Windows utility 10 is good, it has taken a significant step forward when compared to 7 and 8, however, there are better solutions in the form of third-party software.

Consider several programs that can optimize the Windows 10 hard drive and eliminate the fragmentation of its files:

  • PiriformDefragler is a "relative" of the famous CCleaner. The tool is “smarter” than the regular utility: it can analyze a much larger amount of data. It also has the advantage of being completely free. The interface is clear and does not cause difficulties. As you can see in the screenshot, the program found fragmentation where the "Ten" assured us of zero problems.

Download Piriform Defraggler
  • Auslogics Disk Defrag. Another powerful program similar to the previous one. The tool is distributed free of charge, and its functionality goes far beyond the usual defragmentation.

There are several levels of defragmentation in the program's operating mode. The first, superficial, is designed to quickly scan and fix basic problems (you need to do it once a week). There is also an in-depth analysis, which requires much more time, and it is enough to conduct it once a month.

Download Auslogics Disk Defrag

Only one antivirus!

Not a single computer can do without an antivirus. It is important to use high-quality software that can deal with most threats. But sometimes users make a gross mistake and install 2 or even more antiviruses. Programs begin to scan each other, conflict and slow down the PC, and the latter sometimes simply freezes. For effective verification, you can use different programs, but you should install only one at a time.

Note: Windows 10 uses a built-in antivirus, the functionality of which is enough for all occasions. But if you still decide to replace it, do not worry about the conflict: Microsoft has provided for everything, and when you install a new defender, the built-in one turns off automatically.

Programs to improve PC performance on Windows 10

Above, we looked at some applications that allow you to get a performance boost in Windows 10. There are whole packages of tools for fine-tuning the system and speeding it up. Consider two such programs.

Glary Utilities

This is one of the most famous and beloved programs for speeding up the operating system. The functionality of the utility includes: cleaning disks from garbage, searching for duplicate files, finding and removing unwanted software, optimizing the disk subsystem, cleaning and defragmenting the registry, optimizing RAM and many more useful functions.

There is a screenshot a little lower, which shows that the program, not having time to start, has already analyzed the boot speed of our system and suggested disabling the elements that slow it down.

There is also a one-touch cleaning mode: you click on a button, and as a result, the program scans your PC with different tools and at different levels. The result of cleaning is worthy of the highest praise. The simplicity of the interface, ease of use and good performance make GloryUtilities the best choice for today.

Download Glary Utilities

Advanced System Care

One more powerful application, or rather, a set of programs for cleaning, optimizing and securing Windows 10. This software can not only improve PC performance, but also answer the question - how to speed up the Internet in Windows 10. Here the emphasis is on maximum convenience and ease of operation.

Download Advanced SystemCare

There is also functionality for advanced users. You can enable advanced mode and you will have access to much more flexible and functional settings. The app interface is very user friendly and looks great. The screenshots show the main functionality of Advanced SystemCare.

TweakNow PowerPack

Another great package of utilities for optimizing Windows 10 or earlier OS versions from Microsoft. Due to the presence of a number fine tuning requiring certain knowledge, the program is more suitable for advanced users. Screenshots can be seen below.

Thanks to the above instructions, you already know how to speed up a computer or laptop with Windows 10. There is no need to talk about the need for such a procedure, because even on modern PCs the load becomes so high that the machine starts to become dull. Only the timely implementation of all the above recommendations will allow the "Ten" to live without glitches and brakes.

Windows 10 optimization video

"Slowdown" of a computer or laptop always causes negative emotions. Often, not only the user's nervous system suffers from this problem, but also the device itself. In fact, the solution is quite simple: you just need to check the performance of the device and improve it. This is easy to do even for a beginner. The main thing is to deal with the elements that do not allow you to "overclock" the operating system at full capacity or interfere with its operation. After eliminating the cause of the freeze, your device will “fly”.

How to check the performance of a computer or laptop

Buying new laptop or by setting new windows on a computer, any user wants to configure it so that the system works at maximum performance. As practice shows, this does not always work. The issue of performance is especially acute for those who are trying to install Windows 10 on older devices. As a result, problems arise with the operation of the system, freezing and “braking”. Do not despair - the problem can be caused by just a large number of automatically included utilities and applications that the user did not know about. If you turn them off and clean the system of other unnecessary components, even an old laptop will start to “fly”.

Often, users do not check the performance of their devices just because they find this process rather difficult. But it's not. In fact, you can do this procedure using the components already built into the system. The check will help control the performance and operation of the system as a whole and will even show if any virus has “settled” in it.

Verify device with performance level index

Microsoft provides this performance check in all versions of Windows. And Windows 10 is no exception. You can run a performance level index using a simple algorithm:

  1. Launch the command line (go through the "Start" and select the "Run" section or press Win + R at the same time).
  2. Enter the winsat formal - restart clean command.
  3. Wait for the system to collect information.
  4. Open Windows partition on the hard disk (on which the system is recorded).
  5. Open Performance folder.
  6. Next, open the WinSAT section and select DataStore.
  7. In this folder, open the Formal.Assessment (Recent).WinSAT.xml file.
  8. Find the WinSPR block where information about Windows performance. Indicators SystemScore - general indicator, MemoryScore - RAM, CpuScore - average processor index, GraphicsScore - graphics card indicators, GamingScore - game performance, DiskScore - information about reading data from the hard drive.

The average index for Windows 10 is 8.1.

In the WinSPR information block, you can find out the performance index of almost all OS components

Checking the device through the "Task Manager"

To check the health of the device through the "Task Manager", you need to follow these steps:

  1. Enter the "Task Manager" through the "Start" (or simultaneously press the key combination Alt + Ctrl + Delete).
  2. Open the "Performance" section. Here are performance graphs that reflect the health of Windows 10 and its individual components as a percentage.

Device performance graphs in the Task Manager will help you evaluate the health of the system and its components

Checking the device with third-party resources

If you need a more accurate analysis of the system's performance, you can use special programs. They display more accurate information about the device's performance, as well as other useful information. Among the variety of such programs, the following can be distinguished:

  • AIDA64 is the most requested download utility; shows all information about the computer: from free space on the hard drive to the model of additional devices and drivers for them;
  • SiSoftware Sandra Lite - free utility with a simple control panel; the test result is provided in a clear color chart;
  • 3DMark - paid universal program with a wide range of analysis (price - $ 30);
  • CINEBENCH - a utility with the ability to analyze various aspects, including PC performance;
  • Winaero is another utility that will quickly analyze the performance process.

How to speed up your computer or laptop on Windows 10

If a PC health check revealed its poor performance, it is worth removing unnecessary system elements and disabling those that are rarely used. In most cases, this will help the device "speed up".

Startup cleaning

Every time the laptop or computer is turned on, programs from the startup list are automatically launched. Not all of them are listed personally by the user. Some programs are there by default when installing the operating system, so the user may not even know about them. Carefully review the list of all background programs and disable or remove utilities and applications that are not needed or rarely used (you can return them to the auto-enable list at any time).

What can be safely disabled in autoload:

  • torrent client (for example, uTorrent, MediaGet) - these utilities usually "settle" in autoload, but they are not constantly needed; this kind of program can be turned on immediately before loading something with it;
  • cloud storage (OneDrive) - the application is in the startup list immediately after Windows installation ten; if there is no constant need for it, it can also be removed from the list;
  • peripheral programs - if a printer, scanner, etc. is connected to the PC, then there are programs from the manufacturers of this equipment in the autoload; such programs take away performance reserves, while the listed devices will work correctly even without their programs in startup;
  • other unknown applications- if there are names of programs unknown to you in the startup list, you should check via the Internet what they are responsible for and disable if not needed.

Follow these steps to clear startup:

  1. Open the Task Manager (shortcut Ctrl + Shift + Esc).
  2. A table will appear in the tab that opens with a list of all programs and applications that automatically start when Windows 10 boots. At the bottom of the list on the right there is a "Disable" button, with which you need to disable applications and programs.

Video: Ways to improve productivity in Windows 10

All applications disabled in this way will no longer start when the computer boots, which will positively affect the performance of the device.

You can also disable a particular program in startup by right-clicking on it and selecting the "Delete" option from the list that opens.

By cleaning the startup list, you can increase the performance of your computer at times

Turn off reports

With the release of a new Windows versions 10 on the Internet you can find a lot of information that Microsoft collects information about users and spies on them. This is not entirely true. Some information is actually collected, such as items ordered and websites visited. But leakage of confidential information is excluded. However, such applications take away the reserves of the system, which negatively affects its performance, so it is better to disable them.

If Windows 10 is already installed, check to see if information collection data is disabled on your device:

There are several good utilities, which help you find and collect items that you can turn off into one list. The user can only determine what to disable and what not. Before running such utilities, it is advisable to create a system restore point. Here are the programs:

  • DWS (Destroy Windows 10 Spying) - a program designed to stop tracking activities on devices running Windows 10; has a clear and simple interface in Russian;
  • O&O ShutUp10 - an easy-to-use program in Russian contains recommendations on what can be turned off and what is better left;
  • Ashampoo AntiSpy for Windows 10 is a useful utility for English language, which runs without installation; everything is on the menu necessary tools to disable tracking, as well as recommendations and tips;
  • WPD- free app in Russian, which allows you to disable not only "spy" positions, but also individually configure the firewall with the ability to block telemetry, allow or deny access to the Internet third party programs, disable OS update.

Disabling Apps from the Start Menu

On Windows 10, the Start menu uses Live Tiles - a set of quick launch apps: calendar, home group, weather, OneNote, mail and more. At least half of them are not used by users at all or are used very rarely. And applications at this time consume device resources. Therefore, it is advisable to remove from the Start menu or disable those applications that you do not use.

By moving the slider, you can disable or enable the desired option

You can disable any application from the Start menu by right-clicking on it and selecting the "Unpin from Start" section. That's it - the application will no longer appear in the menu. But this does not mean that it is disabled, because it will still consume the reserves of the device and reduce its performance. It is best to disable unnecessary applications permanently. To do this, do the following:

To improve the performance of your device, you can uninstall the following programs and applications that are not commonly used by users:

  • people - application "People";
  • communicationsapps - calendar and mail;
  • zunevideo - "Cinema and TV";
  • 3dbuilder - 3D Builder;
  • skypeapp - download Skype;
  • solitaire - Microsoft Solitaire Collection;
  • officehub - download or improve Office;
  • xbox - XBOX application;
  • photos - photos;
  • maps - maps;
  • calculator - calculator;
  • camera - camera;
  • alarms - alarms and clocks;
  • onenote - OneNote;
  • bing - news, sports, weather, finance (all at once);
  • soundrecorder - "Voice Recording";
  • windowsphone - "Phone Manager".

Driver update

The reason for the poor performance of the PC may also be non-original device drivers. Windows 10 has a recognition system and automatic installation the right drivers, but often there are failures. Therefore, in order to check the drivers and improve the performance of a computer or laptop, you can make a kind of revision of the device:

  1. Right-click on the Start menu bar and select Device Manager from the list that opens.
  2. Open "Properties of key devices" and select the "Driver" section.
  3. View Driver Publishers. The supplier must be Microsoft (except for the video card - in this position, the official supplier is NVidia, AMD or Intel). If the supplier is different, you need to download the original driver from the manufacturer's official page and install it.

Disabling visual and other effects

On any Windows device, there are many elements that make the interaction with the PC more colorful and interesting. But they also consume computer resources. You can only slightly improve the performance of the device if Windows 10 is installed on more early version laptop or computer.

Visual effects

If we talk about all the components of the operating system that affect performance, then first of all we need to remember the visual effects. To disable them, follow these steps:

Graphic and color effects

To disable graphics follow the steps:

  1. Go to the section " Special abilities» (shortcut Win+I).
  2. Select "More Options".
  3. Disable "Play Animation on Windows".

If you want to turn off the color, then the instruction is as follows:

  1. Open the start menu.
  2. Go to "Settings".
  3. Open the "Personalization" folder and select "Colors" where you want to turn off transparency.

Sound effects

To turn off sounds on the device, you need:

  1. Open the start menu.
  2. Go to "Control Panel".
  3. Open the "Sound" tab. Here you need to check the "Silent" field.

Indexing

Indexing helps you find information, folders or files that are stored on your computer through an internal search. To quickly find necessary information the device is constantly scanning the device, and this requires resources, which reduces performance. To disable indexing:

  1. Go to the Run menu (Win + R).
  2. Enter the services.msc command.
  3. Find the Windows Search service in the list, right-click on it and open the Properties folder.
  4. In the "Startup type" column, select the "Disabled" position.

To disable the Windows Search service, open the folder properties and select the "Disabled" item

If you disable indexing, you will not be able to use the internal search.

Temp Folder

This folder contains temporary and intermediate files. They also slow down and slow down the device. Therefore, it needs to be cleaned from time to time as follows:

  1. Close all folders and programs.
  2. Open the "This PC" section.
  3. Enter %TEMP% in the top field.
  4. Delete the contents of the folder.
  5. To restart a computer.

AT Temp folder temporary files are stored that can be deleted to improve device performance

Browser Extensions

Setting up your favorite browser is an individual matter. It is important for the user to configure it so that at any time he has quick access to the right tools. However, it often happens that previously installed extensions are no longer used, but continue to use the system reserves. If the task is to improve computer performance, check all extensions through the browser settings and remove unused ones.

Do not forget to clear the cache and delete your browsing history at least once a month. This will greatly improve the performance of the device.

Virus removal

Viruses and Trojans not only cause harm individual files and system, but also "slow down" PC performance. Of course, a cautious user often runs antivirus check devices, but not always a regular antivirus finds all infected files. However, there are programs (for example, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware) that even find "disguised" viruses. If you suddenly start having problems with the performance of the device, download similar program and check your PC with it.

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware scans the system for a long time, but after completing the full scan cycle, it finds all infected files and hidden viruses

Enable Windows 10 High Performance Mode

The power supply of the device directly affects the performance of the OS. You can choose the optimal energy consumption option for your PC as follows:

Using utilities to improve device performance

If your level of computer proficiency does not yet allow you to "dig" into the hardware, then they will come to the rescue special programs, which solve the problem with minimal user interaction.

Built-in Microsoft utility

Your Windows 10 device has useful program"Disk Cleanup", which removes mass junk files, thereby improving performance. You can find it like this:

  1. Open the "Properties" tab of the hard drive.
  2. Open the "General" section and select "Disk Cleanup".
  3. In the window that opens, select all the items that can be deleted (be sure to select "Temporary files"), and confirm your choice.

CCleaner

Despite the fact that the program is shareware, even in the free version there are many elements to optimize the system: the ability to optimize startup, delete temporary files and uninstall programs, clean up browsers, and much more.

It’s easy to understand the CCleaner interface: on the left is a column with tool sections, on the right are folders and device files

AVG Tune Up

The biggest advantage of this program is that it is enough to set it up once, and all subsequent cleanings will occur automatically with a user-defined cycle. Running the utility once every 2–3 weeks will keep the device practically sterile: the system registry will be cleaned, temporary files will be deleted, viruses will be neutralized, and autorun will be reliably protected from unauthorized interference by third-party programs.

To access all the functions of the program, you must subscribe to it. The cost of a subscription is approximately 25–30 USD. e. per year.

The AVG TuneUp interface consists of only 5 buttons, which provide reliable protection and high performance of your PC

Advanced SystemCare

A free program that can be legally downloaded from the manufacturer's website. There is also a paid option additional features. But the free version is enough to optimize the device. There are more than a dozen useful utilities in the program menu.

A clear control panel of the program makes it easy to optimize the performance of the gadget

Auslogics BoostSpeed

The Auslogics BoostSpeed utility is specifically designed to improve device performance. AT new version for Windows 10 has all the components to improve the health of the device up to 40%.

With the Auslogics BoostSpeed program, you can increase the speed of the process by half

In pursuit of improving computer performance, your rash actions can cause great harm to the entire system, so the main thing in this matter is not to overdo it. Perform all manipulations and actions exactly in accordance with the instructions. To avoid errors and performance issues, follow these guidelines:

  1. Be careful when downloading and installing new programs. Sometimes programs can start a conflict, which will not only lead to a decrease in performance, but also end fatally for the system.
  2. Clean up system block. Sometimes contamination of the internal hardware and components of a computer can be more harmful than a full disk. Therefore, clean your PC every few months.
  3. Choose the right accessories for the device.
  4. When running cleaning programs, carefully check what exactly the program wants to remove so that you do not accidentally lose important information.
  5. Keep your drivers up to date.
  6. Regularly check your system for virus infection on your PC.
  7. Do not disable paging files. AT otherwise the performance of the device will not increase at all, but some programs may not start.
  8. Do not run cleaning programs every day.
  9. Do not disable all services indiscriminately. If you do not know exactly how important this or that program is for the operation of the system, it is better not to remove or disable it.

If the speed of your device is no longer pleasing, it is not necessary to buy new expensive equipment to improve its performance. An old computer or laptop can still quickly cope with its duties. The main thing is to correctly configure and distribute resource consumption between all components of the device.

As you might guess, in this article we will try to tell you how to speed up your computer on Windows 10. I would like to say right away that in most cases such an article will be useless, since the new “ten” already works quite “quickly” . If you are still itching to "optimize" something, then let's not delay the start and get down to business right now.

Before you speed up Windows 10

Before talking about how to speed up Windows 10, it is worth saying a few words about what precedes it, namely -. There are several rules, ignoring which will significantly reduce the speed of your PC. First of all, this should include the correspondence of the computer system requirements operating system, as well as the correct choice of distribution, which can speed up the download much more than any other measures.

It is unlikely that you will be able to achieve good performance if your computer has a single-core processor and less than 2GB of RAM.

Moreover, in order to work comfortably with the ten, it is desirable increase the amount of RAM to 4GB (or more). If these requirements are not met, optimize Windows 10 for weak computer practically won't work. Since most of the time it will be busy not performing useful tasks, but redistributing resources, it is almost impossible to speed up the loading of such a PC.

The second point is the choice of the Windows distribution.

High-quality work is a priori possible only in those cases when you installed the original system, and did not use one of the so-called "assemblies" of Windows - handicraft packages, which are a system mutilated by ignoramuses, loaded with useless rubbish, which can only be called "whistles and fakes ".

If the name of your Windows 10 includes something in the style of "Xtreme edition" or contains the postscript "by ...", then it is better to immediately demolish such an OS and reinstall Windows from original MSDN images or another copy of the licensed disc (ideally from the licensed disc itself). Despite the fact that in this case you will have to install additional software (office, browsers, etc.) manually, this way you can achieve maximum performance gains and speed up the loading of your PC and Windows itself.

Removing superfluous from autoload

To speed up Windows work 10 - just throw away unnecessary components from startup. The fact is that a huge number of programs, once installed, register themselves in a special area of \u200b\u200bthe system, forcing it to run them every time the PC is turned on. It's perfectly normal if it does. system utility video cards or sound card, but if any rubbish tends to autorun, then your computer will boot significantly longer, juicy crunching your hard drive every time you turn it on.

So, in order to throw out the excess from Windows 10 startup and, thereby, speed up your computer, you should do the following:

  1. Press the key combination Ctrl + Shift + Esc or right-click on the taskbar and select "Task Manager";
  2. If the dispatcher started in a minimized form, click on the "Details" button in the lower left corner of the window;

  1. Examine the list of programs, paying special attention to those that have a high impact on the boot process;
  2. To disable an unnecessary program, right-click on it and select "Disable";
  3. At the end of the "cleaning" close the window and restart your PC - the result will be visible immediately.

If you realize that you have disabled something you need, you can always repeat the procedure again, however, select "Enable" on the mistakenly disabled item. In other words, it is quite difficult to break something using this application, but to speed it up Windows boot- completely.

Accelerating Windows 10: Understanding Services

Apart from traditional programs, so-called “services” also work in Windows - special service applications that provide the operating system with additional features. It just so happened that not all of them are needed for the operation of most computers. In this section, we will look at a way to disable some services in order to speed up the download, and also talk about how to understand whether you need them or not.

Print Manager

This windows service just needed when you own the printer or just use the print dialog to save files in XPS or PDF format. If you still have not got hold of a printer, but about PDF formats and XPS hear for the first time - to speed up the download, this service Windows can be safely disabled.

Windows Firewall

This service allows your computer to monitor network security, however, if you have a third-party firewall installed or one of the modern antivirus packages equipped with this feature, you can turn off the built-in Windows firewall - this will also speed up OS loading a little.

Secondary login

If your computer has several accounts working at the same time, then you need this service, because it is it that allows several users to work simultaneously on one PC. If there is only one user, then in order to speed up the loading of Windows, this service can be disabled.

Windows Image Upload Service

To speed up the loading of Windows 10, this service can also be disabled, however, if you are the owner of a scanner, MFP or digital camera, then it is better not to take this step - the above devices will simply cease to perform their functions.

Various third party services

Many applications also like to add their own services that can slow down the PC. When answering the question of how to speed up your computer on Windows 10, you should not miss them. As a rule, they are quite easy to distinguish from the "original" ones - as a rule, the description and name of third-party services are written in English. You can independently find among them those that you no longer need.

How to disable services?

So, in order to finally figure out how to optimize the work of Windows, it remains to find out the last moment - how to disable the above services anyway. Here is a simple instruction:

  1. Press Win + R;
  2. Enter: msc

  1. Click OK.
  2. In the list that appears on your screen, find the service you want to disable;
  3. Right-click on it and select "Stop";
  4. To prevent the service from starting the next time you turn on the PC, double-click on it - this will open its properties;
  5. In the Startup Type field, select Disabled and click OK.

Optimizing the Start Menu

If in Windows 8 one of the features was “live tiles”, which were on a separate screen, then in the top ten it was abolished. Interactive Tiles are now in the Start menu. Despite the fact that their number has decreased and they have become more compact, such interactive content seriously takes up resources. Only a few people use these live tiles, so if you don't see the need for them, turn them off.

To do this is simple:

Actually, everything.

Disable visual and sound effects

Beauty has to be sacrificed with speed. All this animation of minimizing and maximizing windows, displaying a shadow from the mouse and other numerous sound and animation effects can slow down the system. Therefore, if you set out to speed up your PC on Windows 10, then it is better to turn off such beauty.

That's all. Believe me - the above methods are the most effective method optimize Windows job 10. As for the various "accelerators", then for one positive action they perform 5 malicious ones, and also clog autoload.

Not so long ago, the Windows 10 operating system got its start. Its main difference from previous versions it will be that it will be the last, although the updates will not stop. As Microsoft announced in April 2017, the OS will continue to receive new updates in a timely manner approximately twice a year.

Despite the rapid development of the operating system, machines with installed Windows eventually become slower and slower, as they become clogged with all sorts of programs and files. If you are using a computer or laptop Windows control 10, it is likely that you periodically visit Internet resources in order to find all kinds of guides to speed up the operating system.

You may have found this information before, but it would be great to not only mention something new, but also combine this “new” with already known information so that you can always have a complete guide to improving the performance of your Windows PC at your fingertips.

How to speed up Windows 10

Method 1. Prevent programs from starting at system startup

Usually, most Windows users have a lot of applications on their computers that automatically start when the system is turned on. Basically, these are factory software installed by the manufacturer, and others, the autorun of which has not been canceled or it is included intentionally.

The decrease in performance is felt especially strongly when the computer starts, when it loads the desktop and at the same time tries to launch a lot of other applications. This significantly slows down the operation of the device, therefore, it is necessary to minimize the number of programs with autorun. You can turn off the auto-start feature with Task Manager.

If you are using Windows 7 or Windows XP, in this case, a good utility to disable autorun will be msconfig.

Method 2 Use fewer applications at a time, reduce the load on RAM (RAM) for better performance

Using multiple applications at the same time can increase your productivity if, for example, you work as a designer and need to open Adobe Photoshop with Adobe Illustrator at the same time, however, this puts an extra load on your PC. In most cases, the processor (CPU) does not suffer as much as the RAM (RAM), since RAM is the main resource used.

Try launching the Task Manager and check the memory usage in the tab Performance > Memory. If statistics show that programs load RAM, you can easily track down the guilty software in the tab Processes, which will allow you to improve the performance of your Windows 10 device.

Note: Make sure you don't reset an important system process.

Filling the system memory accordingly leads to a slowdown in the computer. Adding more RAM is one of the options that can solve the problem of poor performance, but this will come at a cost. Less effective tool helping the “braking” Windows 10 system can be an increase in size paging file.

How to change swap file? Below is a detailed instruction.

1. Follow the path My Computer > Properties.

2. Select Additional system settings.

3. In chapter Performance click Settings and go to the tab Additionally.

4. In chapter Virtual memory click Change.

5. Uncheck the Automatic paging file size management for all disks. Select the disk you are interested in and enable the function custom size . Set initial and maximum size file. Click OK to save changes.

Note: If you have excess memory, say 16 GB, there is no need to increase the page file size. However, disabling it is not an option worth considering as the computer may run into certain issues in this case.

Method 3. Check if your operating system is corrupted

Corrupted data can cause your Windows 10 PC to run extremely slowly and, in the worst cases, even crash.

One of simple ways fix corrupted data on windows 10 is to run the verification utility system files. It is likely that you are already familiar with it if you have previously used it in an attempt to restore your HDD or USB stick. Fixing such corrupted files can certainly speed up Windows 10.

How to start System File Checker(System File Checker) in Windows 10?
Use for this command line and open it, enter the following command:

sfc /scannow

This process may take some time depending on the size of your hard drive. Alternative way running the above tool: My computer > Windows drive > Properties > Tools. Now click Check.

Method 4: Scan your PC for malware

This has to be the most anticipated item you could see in our article on speeding up Windows 10. computer viruses have been around for decades, and the fear of how they might affect the operating system led Microsoft to include antivirus software in the list of basic programs; it is called Windows Defender.

It is likely that some application disguised as some system updater or something else may be hiding behind the poor performance of your Windows 10.

You need to regularly scan your computer for malware using Windows Defender or any other third-party antivirus software, which will not only speed up Windows 10, but also avoid a number of other annoying virus-related situations.

Method 5: Shutting down and restarting Windows is not even an option. This is a necessity

Unfortunately, some users neglect this rule and their personal computers can be in an active state all day long, even if their owner is already sleeping for the fifth hour, forgetting that his device also needs to “Shut down” or at least “Reboot”.

Keep in mind that your computer can survive several days without restarting or shutting down the system, but this is not advice at all and does not mean that you should always keep it in working order.

Restarting or shutting down the computer at specific intervals allows it to clean up system memory, which in turn is gradually consumed during operation, and kills all erroneous processes that opened automatically or due to a problem when starting any of your programs, which allows you to speed up your Windows 10 computer.

Method 6: Prefer sleep mode on your PC

If you put the computer into sleep mode, it will take much less time to turn it on than if you start the system from a disabled state. This is due to the fact that Current state system, from the time you last worked with it, is stored on your hard drive and loaded again when you start the device.

Let your PC sleep for a while.

Putting your computer to sleep is a common thing for any Mac user, as these devices are able to survive almost a month working in this manner. now and Windows users can use this mode more confidently by keeping their computer in sleep mode for long hours.

At the moment when sleep mode is active on your PC, only RAM (RAM) continues to do its full work. It will be important to note that even though hibernation puts the computer into a rest state, it still consumes a certain amount of battery power, albeit in small amounts. Thus, although it is energy-intensive, sleep mode allows you to speed up the system to a certain extent.

Method 7: Make your Windows as ugly as possible

Eliminate animations and all special effects.

Our modern PCs have an operating system in which the developers have tried to make everything look great, be filled with various animations and effects, because this makes the process of working with the device much more pleasant. All good things usually have another side - these visual improvements consume system resources sometimes more than we would like. Not all PCs have enough powerful components to allow efficient operation while maintaining all the visual amenities on the screen.

Sometimes it happens that users do not use their device properly; they install random apps and make a number of other mistakes that make their computer suffer.

Now let's see how to enable or disable animations in Windows 10?

In the settings, you can easily switch to better performance, turning off all animations. Follow the path below:

My computer(right click on the icon) > Properties > Advanced system settings > Settings(In chapter Performance).

In the window Performance Options select item Ensure the best performance. If it doesn't suit you, you can always ask Custom settings and enable/disable certain effects as you wish.

Turn off transparency.

Having a taskbar, a beautiful start menu, and a transparent action center can be pleasing to your eyes, but as you know, beauty requires sacrifice and, in this case, you have to pay the price of your computer resources. You can disable transparency by visiting Settings > Personalization > Colors. Click the switch in favor "Turn off" next to point "Transparency Effects".

Method 8: Make sure Windows always gets the latest updates

In the working Windows environment there are a lot of updates and new fixes come out with a certain frequency, which can be installed either independently or voluntarily when the operating system itself starts installing them. Keep in mind that keeping your PC up to date can improve the performance of Windows 10 in addition to protecting your device from unwanted threats such as newly discovered vulnerabilities by Microsoft.

Starting with Windows 8, Microsoft began to provide universal drivers for a huge number of third-party hardware. Updates for these devices are delivered through Windows Update. In case one of the third party devices does not support the driver provided by Microsoft, you will have to update everything manually.

If you are using latest versions Windows 10, updates will install much faster than before. The changes are due to the fact that Microsoft has optimized the process of updating the operating system and now most of the installation takes place in background while the user goes about their business.

Method 9: Quick Launch Applications

This is one way to speed up Windows 10 in daily use. You can set your own keyboard shortcuts to launch applications in 1 click without having to search for them on the device.

Method 10: Prioritize Your PC

In the same performance window that we mentioned just above in point 7, go to the Advanced tab. There you can determine what exactly your computer will give priority to: programs that are actively used or services running in the background. This setting will help to significantly improve system performance according to your needs.

Method 11: Turn off cloud sync to speed up Windows 10

Windows 10 offers integrated service support cloud storage Microsoft OneDrive. You can save absolutely any data by simply uploading it to the cloud, where it will be safe even if for some reason reason hard the disk will terminate prematurely due to a physical problem. Many users already have their vault in Google Drive; there is a possibility that they will not be able to use the cloud from Microsoft.

If you prefer OneDrive and have sync turned on, don't forget about it. It will definitely consume the resources of your computer and slow down Windows 10. In fact, this may concern not only OneDrive, but also a number of other services.

To turn off OneDrive sync and speed up Windows, go to My Computer > OneDrive(right click on it) > Select storage folders to sync. In the next window, uncheck Sync all files and folders to OneDrive and press OK.

Method 12Use Fast Startup to Reduce Your Computer's Boot Time

One way to speed up the process Windows startup 10 - Enable the sleep mode feature, which is disabled by default. Fast startup (enabled by default) is another feature that reduces the startup time of the operating system.

You can check if fast startup is enabled on your computer by selecting Power Options > What the Power Buttons Do. Click Change settings that are currently unavailable to unlock the shutdown configuration. There you will see an option to enable or disable the Quick Launch feature.

Method 13Use ReadyBoost to improve Windows 10 performance

ReadyBoost is a Windows feature that can increase the speed of your system by using free space, the so-called caching. You can see a noticeable difference in system performance in a positive way, especially if you are using low-quality hardware. Keep in mind, ReadyBoost does not work with SSDs as they are faster than normal USB drives.

Method 14Disable Live Tiles

For the first time Live Tiles was launched in Windows 8. This function in the Start menu or on the start screen provides the user with information about a particular application either from the Internet or from local network. Unfortunately, like any other background service, it consumes computer resources, slows it down, and drains the battery.

Let's see how to disable Live Tiles in Windows 10 to increase system performance.

If you are using Windows 10 Pro you can use the editor group policy. Open in editor User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Start Menu and Taskbar > Disable Tile Notifications.

Otherwise, you will have to disable tiles for each application manually. Open the Start menu > right click on the pinned app's animated tile > More > Turn off live tiles.

Method 15Use High Performance Mode to Improve PC Performance

Mode High performance in power modes will allow you to get the most out of your computer. In this state, the processor can use its full potential.

Don't forget to connect Charger when performing resource-intensive tasks.

Have you ever wondered why power users prefer laptops desktop computers? One of the reasons is that they have a constant power supply, which greatly improves performance. In the case of a laptop, we recommend connecting the charger when you run games or use “heavy” software that takes up a lot of resources.

Method 16: Use the built-in troubleshooter

With the release of the Developer Update, Microsoft has provided users with a section for various troubleshooting utilities. Windows problems. Visit Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.

Here you will find options to fix errors related to Bluetooth, BSOD, audio, Windows updates, keyboard and many other system equipment. elimination possible problems can cause your Windows 10 PC to run faster and without errors.

Method 17Improve app performance in Windows 10

If you're using the April Update, Windows 10 now has a new settings page that lets you customize advanced graphic settings for individual apps (both UWP and desktop). This can come in handy if you're running into performance issues with a particular application and blaming the computer, which isn't at all to blame.

open Settings > System > Display. Scroll down the window and select Graphics settings. On the next screen, select the desktop or UWP app you want to customize and click Add.

Now click on the application name and click Options. Here you can choose between different graphics settings such as Default, Power Saving and High Performance. The high performance setting allows the application to use discrete GPU systems.

Method 18: Free up space on your system drive

The computer may run slowly due to a simple lack of physical memory on the hard drive. Make sure that there is enough free space on the system disk for the normal operation of the operating system. Free space should be at least 10% of the total volume of drive "C".

Free up space on the system working disk and clear the desktop of unnecessary items. Also, it will be much more useful in case of lack of space, reassign the user's document storage location to another logical partition. This will significantly unload the system disk.

You can move the following system folders user:

  • Downloads
  • Documentation
  • Images
  • Video
  • Music

Method 19: Disable third-party Antivirus app

Antivirus applications greatly affect PC performance. If you do not practice visiting unverified or suspicious Internet resources, then third-party antivirus can be disabled for the duration of any complex tasks. Use the built-in Windows 10 Defender - Windows Defender.

Method 20Repair your computer

If all the previous methods have been powerless to help you, the last option to resolve the issue of poor system performance is system rollback. You can do this by visiting the section Recovery in the Settings menu. Reinstalling Windows 10 will correct all the mistakes made, and you will again be able to fully use a working operating system.

If necessary recover deleted files and folders, the recovery tools of Starus Recovery will help you. You can try and download data recovery programs for free from our Internet resource.

The performance of any operating system decreases over time, and a Windows 10 computer or laptop will start to slow down. Sometimes there is not enough time for full maintenance, and there is not enough money for it.

Here are 10 tips to speed up your PC.

P.S. All tips were tested on a test virtual machine version 1607 (build 14393.105).

1. Toned interface

The transparent start menu looks nice, but it (slightly) slows down your computer's performance. Turn off transparency to direct resources in the right direction.

Start - Settings - Personalization - Colors - Make the Start Menu, Control Panel, and Action Center transparent Off.

2. Disable special effects

Visual beauties are best left to games.

Right click on "Start" - Control Panel - System and Security - System - Advanced System Settings - Options - Visual Effects tab

To turn off unnecessary animations and special effects, select Ensure best performance. You can also select Special Effects and manually uncheck visual effects which you can do without.

3. Clean autoload

Does your PC take a long time to boot up after being turned on? Perhaps there are a lot of unnecessary programs in autoload.

For convenience, sort programs by the Startup Impact column and disable unnecessary and most resource-intensive ones.

Important: if you are an inexperienced user, we recommend that you carefully study the list and figure out which of these programs are system programs and which are simply wasting resources. It's very easy to do - just google the name.

4. Work on mistakes

Take advantage standard tool Windows 10 to find and fix problems. This simple method helps fix whole line standard errors.

Right click on "Start" - Control Panel - Troubleshooting - under System and Security click "Troubleshooting" - Next

5. Give 10 seconds

To make your PC boot faster when you turn it on, you can decrease the boot menu time-out

Right click on "Start" - Control Panel - System and Security - System - Advanced system settings - Startup and recovery - Settings

Opposite line Show list operating systems set the value to 10 sec.

6. Don't listen to advice

Windows 10 tries to be useful ( It would be better if the Skrepysh was returned! - approx. ed.) and tells you how to use the new interface features. Unfortunately, this feature may affect performance. Disable it:

Start - Settings - System - Notifications & actions - Get tips, tricks and advice when using Windows Off

7. Clean disk

Another method that is relevant for any version of Windows. Disk Cleanup will improve performance and free up space on your hard drive.

AT search line type "Disk Cleanup" - Run the program - Clean up the disk (yes, sometimes everything is so simple. - ed.)

8. Remove pre-installed software

Have you ever used preinstalled programs? Most likely, you never even opened them. Remove this garbage, as well as all software that has not been used for more than a year.

Right click on "Start" - Control Panel - Uninstall programs in the Programs section - Remove everything unnecessary

There is no extra software on our virtual machine :)

9. Watch your diet

Do not use Energy Saver mode unnecessarily.

Right click on "Start" - Control Panel - System and Security - Power Options - Select scheme - High performance or Balanced

Settings are disabled on desktop.

10. Restart your PC

Just try restarting your PC. No, except for jokes - it will unload RAM and is guaranteed to zero out processes that start to consume system resources excessively.

By the way, not everyone knows that shutting down and restarting a PC is not the same thing. Windows 10 uses the feature fast loading, which saves a "snapshot" of the system to get up and running faster. How was this not enough before!
