Stop programs for android. What is background mode in android phone? What consumes battery power

What to do if an Android phone or tablet slows down, freezes or starts to work slower? In order to fundamentally solve the problem, you need to understand "where the legs grow from."

must be taken into account multitasking android work. All running applications that you run on your device start to close when there is not enough RAM. In weakly powerful devices, it is at this moment that the freezes begin. If you have an old or low-powered smartphone, the way out of the situation is the setting responsible for limiting the number of running applications.

Android background process limit.

The limit of background processes in your android allows you to:

  • limit the number of running programs that are known to drain your smartphone or tablet
  • as well as eliminate the freezing of your devices

Need to go to ‹setup menu› and almost at the very bottom there is a menu section "For developers", looking for in this section "Background Process Limit".

Multitasking was invented so that any application that is launched once with its repeated launches starts faster, because thanks to multitasking it (the application) is in a minimized state, as a result, you do not have to wait a lot of time for subsequent launches. good example will serve as the launch of any browser on your computer or laptop. Ask yourself whether it will be faster to launch a minimized browser or reopen it. This is where it becomes all clear what the very multitasking is and what it is eaten with.

Function " Background process limit» limits these very tasks, and more precisely the quantity running programs. With it, you can:

  • or disable altogether background mode
  • or impose limits on the number of running applications

Setting.

Let's take a closer look at how to limit the number of running programs on your smartphone or tablet. We go to the settings of your device → further → “For developers”, look for the application item at the very bottom and it has a sub-item → “Background process limit” in it and select the settings configuration you need.

This setting will be especially convenient for devices that have little RAM.

All freezes that are related to applications using the Internet often hang for a reason. bad connection networks and have nothing to do with the device itself. Exaggerated ping (slow response to action), which occurs through the fault of providers, creates a lot of problems. These problems cause freezes of any device or its built-in functions that use the Internet. The reason here is in the provider.

Tips for optimizing your tablet or smartphone for android.

If you have a weak tablet, it is better to limit the use of videos or live wallpapers, as they load heavily GPU And RAM. It may not be so beautiful to use a regular picture on the desktop, but it will help get rid of freezing and fast battery drain.

Setting a background application limit will keep your RAM free. Try to keep on your gadget those applications that you really need, unnecessary applications better to remove.

Services that you are not using can always be stopped. This will improve the performance of your device.

Monitor your memory ssd drive because your huge libraries of photos, videos or backups files can take up all the memory of your device. In some cases, this is what causes devices to freeze.

If the android freezes tightly.

Sometimes, a "conflict" of some application or program can cause a critical error and crash the mobile platform. Because of what, the phone or tablet freezes tightly, and sometimes the shutdown button does not even work. In such a situation, you need to remove the battery and insert it back. If the dead freezes don't stop, a factory reset will help.

I think everyone knows the feeling of hopelessness when time is running out, deadlines are burning, and the computer, slowly, is thinking about the next move. We are nervous, desperately trying to identify a very harmful virus, but all in vain. What to do in such a situation?

Of course, virus scanning and disk defragmentation are necessary procedures, but there are more significant reasons for low system productivity. And such a reason is background applications. Getting rid of them, you can forget about the endlessly "thinking" computer and pop-up windows for a long time.

What are background apps

A very common occurrence is an incredible accumulation of all kinds of shortcuts on the desktop, the next destination is the system configuration in the Startup tab of the Start menu. There are even more icons here, and each represents either active program, or an application running in the background.

Background programs in windows 7 start automatically when the system starts, and sometimes we don’t even suspect that up to two dozen programs are running in the background, which we have never heard of. As a rule, this useful utilities, antiviruses, all kinds of download managers, etc., which enter the system as a free load in addition to programs that we install ourselves or download from the network. The low performance of the system is due to the fact that background files consume a lot of memory. The problem is solved quite simply - disable unnecessary applications and services.

Ways to identify and remove background programs

The methods described above are simple and accessible to everyone, with their help you will free up the RAM of your machine and significantly increase its performance.

Disable programs running in the background

In this article, I continue the topic of optimizing your computer, today we will stop some programs running in the background to speed up and speed up your PC.

In the last lesson, we disabled programs from startup (if you have not read this lesson, I advise you to start with it, the link is at the end of this article), thereby increasing performance, and now we will disable windows services running in the background.

Any of these services can be either system or third-party, but they all eat up their small part of the system resources, given that there are several dozen of them, the load increases markedly.

Of course, in most cases system programs those working in the background are needed for the normal operation of the computer, but there are those that are not needed at all and are unlikely to be needed by anyone.

When shutting down on your own, you need to be extremely careful, disabling any process, you need to know for what it is responsible so as not to harm the OS. Below I will give a small list of what can be excluded and what to put in manual mode.

What programs can be disabled?

To do this, you need to enter the Service Management by clicking right click mouse on the shortcut my computer, which is located on your desktop or in the start menu, select the item computer. In the menu that appears, select Manage

then click on Services and Applications and last paragraph Services. Here you can see all the necessary unnecessary programs working in the background, in total, I have accumulated more than 150 of them!

First of all, I advise you to look through the entire list and find some of the familiar programs that you may have installed and simply disable them.

For example: µTorrent or BitComet torrent clients can be safely disabled, unless of course you don’t distribute any files day and night. Skype program(Skype) if you call once a month, then why would he absorb daily resources for nothing?

Also with other programs, if there is no need for its every minute work, feel free to stop it. In no case do not confuse, disabling the program does not imply that it will not work in the future! When you need it, just launch it from the shortcut, as you usually do.

The background mode is a standby mode, that is, the program is always running, although it is not used.

And finally, the list I promised windows services which can be turned off for sure or switched to manual mode.

Parental Control - turn off KtmRm for the distributed transaction coordinator - manually Adaptive adjustment - turn off the brightness is necessary only for PC owners. with a built-in light sensor to automatically adjust the brightness of the monitor WWAN auto setup - disable if you do not have CDMA or GSM modules Windows firewall - disable if your antivirus has this service Computer browser - manually translate when not in use local network Support IP Service - disable Secondary logon - disable or manually Automatic Connection Manager remote access- disable or manually Print Manager - disable if you do not use the printer Windows Defender - disable, completely unnecessary service Distributed Transaction Coordinator - disable NetBIOS Support Module - disable, but provided that there is no local network (combining 2 or more computers) Server setup remote desktop - turn off Bluetooth Support Service - turn off, I don’t think it’s relevant now. Windows Image Upload Service (WIA) - if you use a scanner, you don't touch anything. windows control- disable Remote Desktop Service - disable Smartcard - disable Tablet PC Input Service - disable Remote Registry - everything is bad here, there is an opinion that this is a kind of open door for a virus that can change the system registry. Definitely turn off Fax - turn off, in general, the last century.

To disable the service, double-click on it with the left mouse button, a window will open where we change the Startup type value from Automatic to Disabled then Stop / / Apply / / OK. This is how we deal with every service we don't like.

This is the list of services that I was able to find out about, I will be glad if someone can add it in the comments to this article.

This concludes this article, but the topic of optimization should be continued, subscribe to updates so as not to miss it and other subsequent articles.

Close background programs

close background programs on a computer in several ways. But since you are on a blog for novice computer users, I will show you the easiest one. Everything is outrageously simple, for this we use the "My Computer" icon in the operating system windows XP, and"Computer" in the seven.

We hover over the icon and RMB open the “Management” item, where after opening the “Computer Management” window on its left side, open “Services and Applications”. By double-clicking on the “Services” item in the middle part of the window, we are waiting for the list of background programs available in the operating system of your computer to load. After reviewing the entire list and guided by the knowledge gleaned from the Internet, you can stop some of them.

How to close background programs

To stop the application you have selected, hover over it and click the stop button. This method has another useful for novice users option "Description" of the application. In order to use it and not accidentally stop the desired service, you need to click on it with LMB. On the left you can get information about what you are going to close.

Thus, it seems to me that it will not be difficult for you to close background programs. And if you want more full information about windows background programs, then this can be done simply by clicking on the link.

background programs. Why are you needed and how to get rid of unnecessary

Background applications/processes are those that run in the background (hidden from the user) mode.

Some of them are not used by the user, consuming, however, system resources, and consequently reducing the efficiency of equipment use, part of it simply litters the taskbar, desktop and list installed programs.

Some of these programs are various services that are started by the operating system. Due to its versatility, the operating system launches a large number of applications, some of which you will never need specifically. In addition, some of the background applications, in turn, run their own background applications, such as MS Office. Removing applications you don't use will help speed up system startup and offload computing power.

2.3 Via Msconfig (SCU)

4. Bring the device in service center for repairs

1. Main types of background applications

You can view running applications in the windows taskbar. As a rule, these are various download managers, antiviruses, "daemons", "wizards", and other useful and not very useful utilities. Those that are “not very” get on your machine in different ways: in the “appendage” to files downloaded from the Internet, during installation various programs the default method, etc. Spending a few minutes disabling unnecessary applications and services can improve the performance of your hardware. Background services compete with user tasks for memory, increasing the number of page file accesses, thus reducing the efficiency of the entire system.

2. Ways to detect and remove background processes

To view a list of applications that start automatically, click "Start" - All Programs - Startup.

“Honest” programs are reflected here, you can remove them from startup with the right key - “delete”, while the program itself is NOT deleted, it just stops loading automatically when windows starts. Other background programs are “hiding”, and we need to be able to look for them.

Pay attention to your computer's taskbar (usually) lower right corner. There are shortcuts for programs that started by default.

In this case, we see the uTorrent download manager, 2GIS update agent, Skype, emulator DAEMON discs Tools lite and others.

Fig.2. List of programs in the taskbar

The programs that we see in the taskbar can be unloaded by pressing the right key:

Fig.3. Shutting down (unloading) programs

Note: when using the Exit button, Exit the unloaded process when restart windows starts again. If it needs to be disabled permanently, use msconfig, regedir.

2.2 Using the task manager (ctrl+alt+del)

By launching the windows task manager (by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete), you can look at the list of background services. windows distinguishes custom applications and system services. On the Applications tab, you can see running programs, on the tab "Processes" a list of system services and application components.

Fig.4. Task Manager, Applications tab

The End task button can be used to kill a program or process

In the Processes list, you can see the same programs that we saw on the taskbar and not only. For example, the explorer.exe component is the familiar windows explorer, and iexplore.exe is the Internet Explorer browser.

Fig.5. Task Manager, Processes tab

Modules you do not need can be removed by clicking the "End Process" button. You can safely delete processes:

Internat.exe - keyboard layout indicator;

System Tray (systray.exe) - a program that generates icons in system area Taskbars.

Note: the unloaded process starts again when windows is restarted. If it needs to be disabled permanently, use msconfig or regedir.

2.3 Via MSCONFIG (SCU)

On windows, there is special utility"System Settings" (System Configuration Utility, SCU). It can be launched by specifying MSCONFIG in the Start -> Run program launcher. It is simple and easy to use and allows you to manage the applications you launch. The utility contains several tabs that allow users to change OS startup options.

Programs, the list of which we see in the SCU, are deleted there. SCU, allows you to experimentally significantly increase system performance and remove all unnecessary. Once you find a program you don't want, you can remove it from the download list in the SCU panel.

Fig.6. SCU Utility (MSCONFIG)

2.4 Through windows registry(regedit)

Programs that, when loaded, are registered in system registry, can be deleted using the REGEDIT program (shortcut win + r, command regedit.exe). As always, before making major changes in the system, we make a backup and, as always, we do this only when we are completely confident in our abilities. Most often, such programs are located in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\windows\CurrentVersion\Run branch. Removal from the program is carried out by deleting the corresponding registry line.

Unfortunately, not all programs can be removed using the methods listed above. Microsoft won't let you uninstall like this, like windows messenger. This rather useless program is installed by default and is not visible in the Add/Remove Programs dialog of the Control Panel. If you want to remove one of these programs, you will have to edit the SYSOC.INF file, which is located in C:\WINDOWS\INF by default. To do this, first we find the header, which contains the parameters for loading various windows components. Those that contain the "hide" parameter are not visible in the Add/Remove Programs panel, for example, msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,hide,7 in the case of Messenger, after removing this parameter, the component becomes visible in the installation panel and removal of programs.

3. Background services, pages and other processes

In addition to background applications and processes, there are also background pages, services, etc., but we will talk about them next time.

Closing background programs

Windows background programs have their positives and negatives. But having a medium-powered computer in its arsenal, these applications annoy us more than please us. Take at least a long loading of the operating windows systems which is due to the large number of programs launched at startup. Therefore, the purpose of the lesson on our website about making money in the section all about computers is aimed at obtaining information about closing background programs.

There are several ways to close background windows programs. In order to get information about them, you can go along the path: Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Run - msconfig, after which we get into this window, where we select the "Services" item in which a list of applications opens, both working and stopped.

After going through this list, you can dial a dozen more unnecessary to you, which I recommend stopping. To do this, you need to "uncheck" the name of the application and click the "Apply" and "OK" buttons. I don’t promise that after a reboot your OS runs like a “hare”, but visible improvements will appear. Because with the stop of a large number of services we do not need, we free up RAM, a sufficient amount of which has a positive effect on the performance of the OS.

The next way to view background programs running on your computer is to log in through Computer Management. To do this, hover the cursor over the "My Computer" icon and right-click on the "Management" item. Having found the line “Services” in the left column, click to open it and wait for the display of all applications running in the background to load.

This method is good because here we have the opportunity to obtain information on any of these programs. To do this, you just need to click on it with LMB and read "Description" in the left column. And in order to "Disable" the service, you need to open it with the right button under the menu and select the appropriate item.

Here are two simple ways to close background programs that interfere normal functioning our computer. If the information is useful to you: “How to find out if the phone is being tapped”, then you can get it simply by clicking on the link.

Probably, many people know and from time to time free up RAM by disabling applications running in the background.

Of course, not everyone knows this, so I will show them how to do it easily, quickly and why.

If you logged into Facebook, YouTube, or played a game, then you just went to main screen, not everyone knows that these applications will not be disabled.

They will run in the background and slow down operating system android.

Disabling the involved applications completely will definitely improve the performance of your phone (smartphone) or tablet, especially in the case of devices with 512 or 1 GB of RAM.

In android, you have to disable them manually or with a program that quickly does the job automatically.

I will show in the future 2 ways that you can use, and choose your favorite yourself.

Disable background apps in android by button action

Most phones have two or three buttons below the display screen (some even have four).

If you hold down the "Home" button for 2 seconds, the application programs running in the background and you can turn them off.

Depending on the model, smartphone or tablet, you can turn off everything at once by pulling the screen or one at a time, in turn.

NOTE: On some phones or tablets, this feature may be changed to enable popular apps.

Disable background apps in android with task manager

Sign in to the app store Google Play and install the Task Manager program.

A widget will be installed along with it, but you can configure the program itself so that it frees up memory automatically when the screen is turned off (figure above).

This program is called windows system, but they function a little differently, although the purpose is the same - forced closing of processes.

The widget can be displayed on the main screen, although correct setting"Task Manager", applications running in the background will be turned off automatically, which will undoubtedly refresh your smartphone or tablet. Good luck.

Every owner has probably heard about the existence of the background mode at least once. mobile device Android. To be fair, it should be noted that modern gadgets firmly entered the lives of ordinary people, allowing not only to be constantly in touch, but also to use the device as a navigator or e-book, take photos.

At the same time, such multifunctionality leads to the fact that the device runs out of battery power very quickly. This problem is especially sensitive for those users who are passionate about Internet surfing. To know how to properly minimize the consequences of such activity software you need to pay attention to situations when the use of the background mode is necessary, and when it is possible, and even it is necessary to “freeze” these processes.

You need to understand that background functioning on a modern mobile device is a special process. Even during the rest period with the Internet browser turned off or any running applications, The Android device not only receives, but also transmits packets of various information information. At the same time, any program downloaded to Android through the settings. To do this, just disable the option that is responsible for the exchange of information.

However, the management of background information exchange cannot be approached in an amateurish way. In some cases, reckless actions system applications lead to an imbalance in the system or even the failure of the gadget itself, but in the case of the Google Play application, you can completely stop the service on your device.

The point is that the correct Play Store only possible when background data exchange is enabled. Only then is it possible for applications to download the files they need and show important notifications even when they are not functioning.

So, what to do if the following notification appears when you enter Google Play:

Steps for Android 4.4 and below:

We go to the main "Settings":

Select the section " Wireless networks”, open “Data transfer”:

Now, by clicking the icon located in the upper right corner of the device (three dashes) context menu(or in the lower left corner), in the window that opens, put the checkbox in the "Auto-sync data" and "Background data" fields (on some models, "Auto-sync data" + "Enable synchronization?" + "OK"):

*Note: For some devices, the path will look like this: "Settings", then - "Battery and Data Manager", then - "Delivery", and - "Background".

The path on Android 5.0 and higher devices will be slightly different: the "Settings" field in the "Connections" section (maybe "Wireless networks") you need to select "Data transfer", then click the menu icon (Store three-dots menu) in the upper right, and To enable background communication, select "Allow Background Transfer". If instead the line “Limit background. mode, you don't have to do anything.

The phrase "background mode" is found quite often, including on resources one way or another related to modern smartphones. But what this phrase means, not everyone knows. Well, we will answer this question.

Background mode is a mode where applications and some processes run without user intervention. For example, it can be some messenger. Yes, you do not see the application work, but only until a message from your friend arrives. If everything is clear with this example, then the situation is much more interesting with some built-in applications that are completely unnecessary for the user, but at the same time consume the resources of the touch device. Unfortunately, such applications are not removed, they can only be stopped or disabled.

Applications in the background can independently connect to the server when the Internet is connected - mobile or Wi-Fi. So, for example, you can receive a notification about a firmware update for your smartphone.

The disadvantage of individual applications that run in the background is the increased energy consumption, as a result of which the device's battery drains faster. But, fortunately, this does not happen very often.

You need to understand that some applications cannot work without the background, for example, these are the same instant messengers or antiviruses. And that's okay.

You can almost always turn off an app running in the background. Open settings.

Select the Applications section.

Find desired application in the list.

Stop it or disable it as needed.

Confirm the action.

In the future, the application must be launched in manual mode.
